Always pleasant to work with. They help me with all the small details for my client's trips.

The folks at Canada by Design did a great job of helping with our trip to and through the Canadian Rockies, using Le Canadien, a train from Vancouver to Jasper, then small buses with knowledgeable guides from Jasper to Lake Louise, to Banff. We then spent two days on the amazing Rocky back to Vancouver.

Canada by Design was very responsive to emails and texts, and issued revamped itineraries after each change we made.

We were very pleased with the choice of accommodation for our trip.
The facilities and locale allowed us to do much of our exploring on foot.
We should have mentioned that we are both in our 80’s and found the lack of elevators to be a challenge. However, the staff at all the hotels were right there to assist us with our luggage.
The Lord Nelson in Halifax and the Manoir Victoria in Quebec City were particularly excellent choices because their locale allowed us to cover everything we wanted to see on foot and leave our car parked for the duration of our stay.
Every activity and idea suggested by Discover Canada ended up as a ‘must do’ item; Brier Island Whale Watching, Alexander Graham Bell Museum, The Halifax Citadel, The Louisbourg Fortress just to name a few that should not be missed. We also took the Harbour Hopper in Halifax and toured the Fishermens’ Museum in Lunenburg.
The ‘Magnetic Hill’ in Moncton should not be missed. The weather was not ideal for our trip, but we managed. Canada Day was particularly nasty and, sadly, many events had to be cancelled in the area we were traveling on that day.

Karen was Excellent to work with. She was able to customize our trip to exactly what I wanted, making all arrangements and keeping us informed of any changes. I would definitely use Canada by Design again if/when I want to visit Canada again. Everything was perfect and so very easy.

I thought I could visit friends in Toronto after seeing my daughter in NYC and, knowing nothing about Toronto googled ‘what to do’ there. The first thing that came up was an ad from Discover Holidays about travelling by train to the Rockies. My immediate thought was ‘yes!’ I liked their proposed itinerary and loved every day of the trip. Via Rail from Toronto to Jasper offered wonderful views, companionable and delicious meals, and a cosy cabin. The amount of water - lakes, rivers, waterfalls - is just about incomprehensible to we Australians and nurtured my spirit. Interesting late night stop at Winnipeg - behind the station is the magnificent Human Rights Museum - wonderful to know it even exists. The hotel stays and wildlife tours in Jasper, Lake Louise and Banff gave me a good introduction to the magnificent Rockies, and all the arrangements fell into place well. The Rocky Mountaineer trip to Vancouver was a dreamlike experience. Travelling by train offers so much more than flying-in-flying-out, and crossing beautiful Canada’s waterways, rocky shield, prairies and mountains was uplifting.

What a trip!!!! Karen J. from Canada by Design was amazing in helping us to plan our once in a lifetime trip! Everything was planned perfectly. Thanks to Karen, we stayed in the beautiful Rimrock hotel in Banff- across of the Hot springs and five minutes away from the Gondola. We were picked up for our day trips from our hotel and enjoyed the beauty of the place. In Jasper-Karen suggested to stay at Fairmont Jasper. We LOVED the resort and got a beautiful cabin on the lake. That was an amazing surprise for us! Again the day trips were well organized from A to Z. We finished the trip with a two day ride on the Mountaineer from Jasper to Vancouver (we got the silver leaf and we were so very happy with it). Canada by Design's staff always responded by email of a phone call, also when Karen was away. It was such a relief to know that we could trust Canada by Design before and during our trip.

Excellent company that had the local knowledge to arrange a fantastic trip for 7 people in Western Canada. Highly recommend.

Recommend travelling by car through the rockies. It gives you an opportunity to meet the locals and see more of the country. Train travel is slow and you don't have the opportunity to see much of the scenery. Canada by design was very helpful with all the information/ Brookings. Take some time to learn how to drive on the right side of the road, and learn some district names.

Lovely trip, guides were wonderful. Location was near everything in town. The dog sled was the most fun I have had in years. The northern lights got better each night. I would love to return.

What a great holiday. We did the 17 day Canada’s Great Western Parks self drive holiday from Vancouver to Vancouver. This was a super trip well planned out seeing all the sights we had hoped to see. We had no problems at any of the accommodations and thoroughly enjoyed our time
