Nowhere to refill a water bottle? That should be illegal. Disgusting, shameful behaviour. "Buy our $7 USD water bottle or risk filling it in the bathroom with our disgusting, not-potable sewage water!"

My name is Benjamin Williams. I’m a Houston, Texas resident. On March 24, 2026, I was charged $24,820.10 across five transactions at the Eden Airport cosmetics kiosk in Cancún International Airport, Terminal 3 (merchant: EDEN AIRPORT / CocosCaribe / Avologi).

How it works: Staff approach travelers walking to their gate, initiate a demonstration, and use an actively boarding flight to prevent you from leaving. The vendor held my driver’s license during the transaction. I signed documentation at 1:05 PM — one minute after my boarding group opened — while my ID, credit card, and other personal belongings were still being held.

Staff told me my skin condition qualified for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas insurance reimbursement at approximately 80%, bringing my out-of-pocket to roughly $2,000–$2,200. I made purchasing decisions based on that. BCBS confirmed in writing that these products are not covered. That representation was false.

I discovered charges on my account I had no knowledge of only after I had boarded and left the airport. My own written message to the vendor that same afternoon proves this in my own words.

The vendor’s response: CocosCaribe’s customer service representative Mar Camurru refused any refund in writing — twice, on April 17 and April 29, 2026. Neither response addressed the false insurance claim. Neither addressed the charges I had no knowledge of.

What has been filed: Credit card dispute, Houston Police Department, FBI IC3, FTC, Texas Attorney General, BBB, and active DTPA legal consultation. Every agency has an open file.

To CocosCaribe, Eden Airport, Premier North America, and Avologi: A full refund of $24,820.10 removes this review immediately. Your legal representative may contact me directly. Every week this is unresolved, the record grows.

If this happened to you: Dispute with your bank in writing (FCBA), file police report, FBI IC3 (ic3.gov), FTC (reportfraud.ftc.gov), CFPB, your state AG, and PROFECO (profeco.gob.mx). Consult a consumer fraud attorney in your state and ask about the DTPA. Keep everything sealed and documented.

I am writing this to expose the absolute decay of consumer ethics under the Avologi brand. Avologi allows predatory retail operations like Eden at the Cancun Airport and their hidden financial shell company, CocosCaribe, to use illegal, coercive tactics to fleece travelers out of thousands of dollars. If Avologi has any shred of corporate integrity, they will step in, review this transaction, and issue a full refund immediately.
Here is the exact nature of the consumer fraud being perpetrated under the Avologi name:
1. Physical Coercion, Hostage Tactics, and Flight Distress
The salespeople completely weaponize the high-stress, time-sensitive environment of an airport terminal. They intercepted me while my flight was actively boarding. To force a demonstration of their Avologi devices, the sales staff physically held onto my personal identification, my phone, and my credit card, refusing to hand them back under the guise of "processing info" and running a demo. This was a terrifying, high-panic situation where my personal belongings were essentially held hostage while I was actively worrying about missing my flight. The transaction itself involved outright credit card fraud regarding how the charges were unauthorized, inflated, and manipulated while I was under duress. 
2. Gross Misrepresentation & Illegal FDA Misbranding
The pitch used to sell these exorbitantly priced Avologi devices is built entirely on fraudulent claims that violate the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Consumer Protection Act (DTPA) and federal guidelines:
• The FDA Lie: The staff repeatedly guarantees that the device is "FDA-approved." This is a flat-out lie and constitutes illegal misbranding under FDA rules. Avologi devices are only FDA-cleared, which is a completely different, lower standard. Marketing clearance as "approval" to deceive buyers is an explicit violation. 
• The Patent Lie: They claim the device is patented and designed for "full face rejuvenation, elasticity, and total anti-aging." This is completely false. The actual patent approval for this technology is strictly restricted to the treatment of peri-orbital wrinkles (crow's feet) and NOTHING ELSE.
• The NASA & Gold Fabrications: I was told the device was developed directly for them by NASA and features a "solid gold applicator tip" to work their overpriced face creams deep into the skin layers. To make matters worse, the luxury face creams they force on you arrive completely unsealed with zero protective safety wrapping.
3. The "Non-Refundable" Extortion Trap
The moment I escaped the high-pressure environment and realized the massive deception, I immediately attempted to return the completely unused, pristine, and unopened items. I was denied. While rushing me so I wouldn't miss my boarding call, the staff snuck a "non-refundable" clause into the paperwork, forcing a signature unknowingly. They use this deceptive trick to trap your money and hide behind an absolute fraud.
To Avologi Corporate Management:
Your authorized retailers are committing consumer fraud, engaging in predatory coercion, violating FTC patent guidelines, and ruining your brand reputation. I am already escalating this case to my credit card’s fraud department, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and the Texas Attorney General for severe DTPA violations.
I demand a full refund for this fraudulent transaction immediately. All future buyers: do not let these people touch your credit card or your ID. Avoid anything associated with Eden, CocosCaribe, or Avologi at the airport.

Cancun Terminal 3 - EDEN BEWARE!! There is a “skincare company” currently called Eden, but the name seems to change. This place is a high level scam network. The shop sits innocently next to Starbucks and behind security making it seem like a normal airport beauty store. Men lure you in with eye cream. It all seems very innocent until they take you in the back, take your phone, and hold you captive until you are about to miss your flight. Then when you are desperate enough to pay for something so you can get your phone back and make your flight, they lie about the currency and then charge you TENS of THOUSANDS of dollars to your credit card for things you’ve never seen and certainly don’t want and that’s if you receive all your items (which is rare). Yes, right there. Right by your gate. Behind security in Terminal 3 is one of the most sinister scam shops you’ll ever encounter. It’s no use trying to get money back through the Merchant because they have a company Cocos Caribe that verifies the fraud so a lot of people never get their money back. I almost lost 10k and nearly missed my flight. I’ve talked to others who have lost 30k to 50k in US dollars at this place! It’s outrageous. It’s real. Shockingly, Airport management is letting this happen unchecked. Check out scam report on TikTok 3days3noches to verify!

I can’t give a zero.., or a negative.. but I would give a -950 if I could! My husband was carrying my carton of smokes, and his.. they charged him $950!!!!!!! They lost half the bags from our trip! His bag came off the plane open.. it was nightmare! Very disorganized!!! They couldn’t figure out what bags were coming out of what plane! Never again!!!!

Cancun International Airport has good facilities and services, you must know that it is expensive though, food and drinks are really expensive but you'll find plenty of things here. Well connected with United States and Europe.

Ontzettend slechte service. Buiten wordt je gewoon opgelicht waar je bij staat. Ze doen net alsof ze daar een monopolie hebben op de taxi’s, maar stiekem lichten ze je helemaal op. Niet vertrouwen die mensen!

Beware of taxi drivers.

First, the prices are highly overpriced. You can get to the city center for 900 MXN and from the center to the airport for 450 MXN. However, near the airport, they offer rides for 1,500 MXN. Try to negotiate or walk as far away as possible from these thieves before booking a taxi through the Indrive app. Be aware that taxis booked via this app cannot reach the main terminal building, so you’ll need to walk to the main road or as far as possible.

Second, if you negotiate and secure a better price, they may offer you a return ride from your hotel at a “special” rate. Of course, no one will actually show up at the hotel! So, in the end, you’ll still end up paying for at least one overpriced trip.

Abysmal start to the holiday waiting for 2.5 hours for our luggage to appear! After a 10 hour flight before 1.5 hours transfer to the resort was very poor & seems to be the norm
Slow check in on return leg - an hour before desks opened and airport is VERY expensive
Would definitely make me think twice about returning which is a shame as it’s a beautiful country & we stayed at a brilliant resort (Grand Sirenis)

2.5 hours to get through passport control. Not what you want after a 10hour flight. 2 people operating the desks. Very aggressive unfriendly and intimidating staff. Would not return to Cancun. I saw people being searched and charged a ridiculous amount of money for just one packet of cigarettes and one woman got charged for caring an empty packet of cigarettes. There a definitely more welcoming Caribbean countries to visit.

The most expensive airport in the world. Full of disgusting and hideously overpriced vile American food. The so called duty free is three times more expensive than normal UK retail prices. It’s the last chance for Mexico to rip-off gullible ‘all inclusive’ tourists.

SAT en Cancún me cobra impuesto de importación (200 euros) a pesar de solicitar importación temporal al ser extranjero y ser personal y de trabajo (en ejercito incapacitado, discapacitado, ignorante de leyes, no entienden ni quieren entender, quiere cobrar. Me querían cobrar 5 mil euros porque MI SOFTWARE (propiedad intelectual vale mas de 10 euros) IGNORANTES de AMLO. Si, lo tengo grabado.

Others will tell you the airport is busy and now a bit crowded. But especially disappointing that there is no drinking water fountain available to everyone in departures. This is presumably becase the shops want to sell it at 100 pesos a bottle. This adds to Mexico's huge problem of bottled water and plastic waste.

I DO NOT KNOW A MORE EXPENSIVE AIRPORT ANYWHERE. CANCUN's IS AN AIRPORT FOCUSED SOLELY AS A LAST OPPORTUNITY TO STRIP YOU OFF YOUR CASH, AND DOING IT PROPERLY. AN UNMITIGATED RIP-OFF OF GARGANTUAN PROPORTIONS. DON'T USE ANY OF THESE BUSINESSES. EAT AND DRINK BEFORE ARRIVING AT THE AIRPORT AND FINISH YOUR WATER JUST BEFORE GOING THROUGH SECURITY (you'll get more in the plane) . SUCH OVERPRICING IS NOT JUSTIFIED AND IS BEYOND ACCEPTABLE.
Also DO not use taxis - it's a mafia where they are the only ones who can operate and consequently they are doubly expensive than in ENGLAND!!!
Get an ADO bus to where you are gonna be based.

Very easy to move around, and there is a lot of stores! I really like this airport
