Have recently used canopy rent Went through the whole process which they said should take 15 minutes. Well 3hours later was still trying to complete the application. Very intrusive and in my opinion a lot of unnecessary information. Would definitely not rent another property if they were involved. Also received phone calls from a removal firm without our knowledge so obviously our number has been passed on. Itâs not rocket science from where they got the number

Invasive , inflexible , AI, ineffective, unnecessary. Designed to ' speed up' referencing. It does the opposite. Extremely intrusive. 1000s agree ! They now know my name, address, dob, face id, hologram of passport, all HMRC info, UTR & ALL bank details. Most definitely illegal , unethical & a data collection exercise to enable ID theft. Very dangerous. Ive hated every minute of it but without it you cant move forward with application. The " team" also reject PERFECT images, documents etc. This whole process made me so ill. Just an excuse to collect data & BEWARE in their t & Cs they "cannot guarantee" the safety of your information. Definitely need reporting to trading standards. In shocked how they are permitted to even do this when your data is at risk. Avoid if you can as an agent/ vendor or buyer/ renter! Watch out for all the fake 1 * reviews from those who have ONLY reviewed Canopy!

I have to agree with all the 1 star reviews - very difficult to work with if you have anything that is not a typical 9-5 job, and it asks for an alarming amount of very personal information. However, I was lucky enough to deal with Holly who was very helpful and understanding, so that's why I'm giving it 2 stars.
Terrible got refused even after going through open banking and seeing that Iâm more than capable to afford and still got declined
The system is good only for usual, typical standard people. Iâm employed by a US company, directly from US office. Based on their website a contract and details of payment should be enough, however they have insisted to get my payslips, which doesnât exist at all. They could easily ask the office when they were completing my employment check on how much I make or see from my contract.
