Staff training (STILL) very necessary!!!
I have been in business 38 years and always get my disposables at the Tunbridge Wells Capital store.
On Sunday I returned two rolls of couch roll that had faulty perforations at every other tear.
The manager initially said she couldn’t exchange them because of their return policy being 28 days.
I explained that I wasn’t returning something I didn’t want but something that was faulty and therefore the rules of the Sale of Goods Act applies.
The manager eventually agreed to exchange the two couch rolls as it was in front of two other customers.
The way she spoke to me made me feel uncomfortable but I knew I was right.
I complained about the manager to head office and I’m waiting for them to get back to me.
All members of staff should be well-versed in returns policy for faulty goods, especially as another member of staff was standing beside her listening to what she was saying.
Staff training on such matters is crucial to ensure you don’t lose customers.
I’m afraid that the Tunbridge Wells Store has lost my trade, purely through not knowing their job properly and I shall pass my experience on to friends who shop there too.

I am surprised to read this reply from Capital Hair & Beauty as it differs from the email reply I received directly from Jon the manager at Head Office.
I wish to make it crystal clear that the two couch rolls were not exchanged as a gesture of goodwill at all. They had to be exchanged because they were defective! This was done after a long and awkward conversation with the Tunbridge Wells store manager who clearly had no idea of customers rights under the Sale of Goods Act 1979, which applies directly to Business to Business transactions.
CUSTOMERS:- Do not be fobbed off when you return faulty goods. The shop policy does not cover your right to return defective goods, only those goods not required.

We have reviewed the matter and can confirm that the two faulty couch rolls were exchanged for you in store on the Sunday, and we’re pleased we were able to resolve this during your visit. You also continued with your purchase of additional items.
As a trade-only supplier, all purchases are made under our Business to Business terms and conditions, which customers accept when registering. These terms outline our returns process and differ from consumer legislation. However, we always aim to support our professional customers wherever possible, and the store team had already exchanged the items for you as a gesture of goodwill.
We’re sorry that the interaction itself left you feeling uncomfortable, and your feedback has been passed to the store management to ensure further training and consistency across the team.

Thank you for your review.
As explained in our previous communication, you were provided with a discount equivalent to the VAT amount. By law, we are required to charge VAT on eligible orders, so we cannot simply remove it from the invoice. Instead, the equivalent discount is applied to the product price before VAT is calculated, resulting in the same overall saving.
We understand this can be confusing, but this approach ensures we remain compliant with VAT regulations while still passing on the advertised VAT-equivalent discount.

Fantastic customer service
I am not a professional, my daughter is and I visit with her has I have been paying for equipment and good as she is at the start of her career, sorry but this is relevant.
Daughter was at her hairdressing job and her scissors fell apart, completely. Mum to the rescue and I was at the Capitol store as it opened on Sunday. I know nothing about hairdressing or professional scissors. Charmaine, Shan, and Stella were amazing. They spoke to my daughter on the phone to get blade length etc. I told them money was no object, did they rip me off, did they try to con me? No I walked away so very happy and would recommend this branch to anyone as they are excellent.

Fantastic customer service! (Online order)
Becca was great in helping with a delivery issue (completely the couriers fault… DPD!) I emailed on the bank holiday Monday and received a prompt reply the very next day. I did have a choice to have my order replaced and redelivered but went with a refund instead, simply because I needed the products ASAP and just had to get them from elsewhere sadly. I’d like to stress that this really hasn’t put me off ordering from Capital Hair & Beauty again though, as it’s nice to know the customer service team is really proactive and helpful ⭐️
I’ve ordered from Capital previously and had no issues at all, the products have always been top quality and they have a fantastic range of different brands.
Big thank you again to Becca, who was super polite, friendly and understanding! 😊

My daughter and I went to your soton shop yesterday.

Amazing Staff!
Caroline from the limerick branch was a great help to me today. Had an issue with a product but lost my receipt. She was able to re-print it for me and solve the issue and she was so lovely. Always a good experience in this branch

Southampton Branch 👏
Without fail every time I visit the Southampton branch, it’s like a warm hug! Sue has a great team that feels like one happy family every time I visit they are all so happy and cheery. They always welcome me with a big smile, remember my name and say hello Trudi when I pop in. Always so accommodating and helpful at every visit. I’m not great at planning what I need so it’s great to be able to pop in and stock up. I’ve just added waxing to my list of treatments and Sue and the girls were so helpful with their years of experience advising me on what I need. I love that you get to know the girls, so often places can’t hold onto their staff and the faces change all too often and you never get to build any rapport. Well done Southampton branch, keep up the good work.

Just wanted to share some feedback…
Just wanted to share some feedback after our team meeting today. We were saying how much nicer the Hove store feels recently, since Dixie has been managing it. Genuinely a different experience walking in. The atmosphere is calm, the shop is tidy and well organized, stock is easy to find and the girls are consistently positive and helpful. You can tell there’s someone setting a good standard and keeping things running smoothly.
We have also noticed how much more efficient everything feels. The team seem clear on what they’re doing, there is less confusion around stock and the service feels more consistent. Even little things like being let in a few minutes early when we are desperate for last minute colours, make a huge difference to us. It shows awareness and initiative and we really appreciate it.
