Awful !

I used several of the % offers to build up in my account to redeem. Month later nothing, notta, zilch...

I completed several offers, all stuck "pending"...

Account seemed to be "stuck" in verification review AFTER I went to try to redeem for gift cards. After that was done, pending, congratulations here's $xx in your account you cant use...

No way to contact them, no explanation on how to redeem, but, low and behold countless emails a day to click and earn more $$$ for my C1 Shopping account that I can not use.

As stated by previous other reviews, this is a scam. They emailed me an offer with $50% promised if $50 or more is spent. Although I followed the instructions extension and the subsequent email that was sent to me, It wasn’t honored. Not the total amount, only $6.43 was deposited in my CapitalOne rewards account. There is no way to get in touch with them except email which is a false front. ("Your message wasn't delivered to ***@capitaloneshopping.com because the address couldn't be found, or is unable to receive mail.")
I sent them copies and screenshots but no engagement or follow-up. It doesn’t function as customer service but as a way to collect customer complaints. Capital One says this is an independent company from their credit card. Avoid at all costs !!!!

Donna had to call Capital one early in the morning as i couldn't log into the website and the app isn't working. Call the capital one number and make the payment.

I got so many offers they stalk your browser history and send fantastic offers and never follow though. I missed out on multiple "Get $dollaramount$" rewards if you purchase something NOTHING!!!! or referrals either , SUCKS and if you email them they say yea just wait it can take some time to process to get your rewards ... Yea ok

I attempted to dispute a charge, but the woman went around and around in circles until I was in so much pain (due to my ME) that I was in tears and had to go to bed. Her supervisor did the same. They are worse than AI and I am not a fan of AI.

When my energy returns and I stop shaking, I'll try to find another business to work with.

This service is a scam that does not pay out its promised offers. Over the Black Friday timeframe I received an offer for 15% back at BestBuy. I bought a $6000 movie server and expected to get back $900. I took a screen shot of the “activated” status along with all the fine print. The purchase was captured on their site, but they never paid out. I am uninstalling their extension and never using them again.

The capital one shopping rewards is an absolute gimmick. Even when provided proof of screenshots, they do not honor the rewards they offer. I read the small print. I follow the instructions provided and they still do not deliver. So disappointing. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS.

Capital One Shopping is a scam. I followed instructions and did not recieve my promised reward. This has happened before with smaller reward promises, but this was a 30 dollar scam if I buy 50 bucks worth at Walmart.

They have the nerve to reach out to me with the promotion with an email, and then not acknowledge it. In fact they blamed me.

Am unable to update my particulars even when I have Capital One credit cards. Keep on denying when I try to enter my name and because of that I can't redeem any credit. Customer service is atrociously slow.

Capital One Shopping will not let me redeem my cash I have earned for past purchases cause I cannot confirm a old email address that I no longer can use. I am retired & have since opened up a new email to use but they will not let me either transfer them no give me another way to confirm that old email in order to close it. I am very disappointed in how I am being treated & loosing out on the money that is owed to me. Horrible customer service.

I used Capital One Shopping as a regular cashback service. After accumulating around $160, I tried to redeem it for gift cards — only to discover at that point that linking a U.S. bank account is required even for gift card redemption.

This requirement is highly unusual. I have used multiple cashback platforms over the years, and none of them required a bank account just to receive gift cards. Typically, gift cards require nothing more than an email address or basic account verification.

While this requirement may be mentioned somewhere in the terms, it is not made clear during signup, and the service presents itself as a standard cashback tool. As a result, users only encounter this restriction after they have already earned rewards, leaving them with no practical way to redeem their balance.

This also raises reasonable concerns that the bank-linking requirement may serve purposes beyond fraud prevention, such as collecting user financial data or promoting Capital One’s banking services, especially since gift cards themselves do not require banking infrastructure.

In the end:

earned rewards are effectively locked

no alternative verification options are offered

non-U.S. users or those without a U.S. bank account are excluded

I strongly recommend that international users, or anyone not planning to link a U.S. bank account, proceed with extreme caution.

I had over $5,000 in gift card rewards pending across roughly 250 purchases, scheduled to pay out over the next 90 days. After using Capital One Shopping for about 18 months with minimal issues, my account was suddenly terminated for alleged “policy violations” that were never explained and never committed.

There was no warning, no meaningful appeal, and no evidence provided—just an account shutdown and forfeiture of earned rewards.

It’s important to understand how this works: they are not “giving” you anything. The cashback comes from the affiliate commission generated by your purchase. When they terminate your account, they still collect that commission—you just never see your share.

The marketing looks great, but the reality is simple:
40% cashback that never gets paid is effectively 0%.

Use this service at your own risk. If you build up meaningful rewards, be aware they can be taken away instantly with no recourse. Don’t fall for the shiny percentages without understanding the downside.

I activated a cash back Target deal online on Capital One Shopping, where I was supposed to receive $25 back for spending over $50. My receipt shows that I spent $51.66 but Target or Capital One reduced the amount to $49.05 in the portal to make me ineligible for the promotion. I'm surprised how corporations scam consumers in plain sight and get away with it.

I had a horrible experience with them, I’ve been a c1 shopping for over a year, until they advertised a 70% back in Serta mattresses. Which I purchased it because of that tx I spent 2000 in the mattress so I was expecting 1400 back. I open a case because the rewards never showed up. So after 30 days the told me the purchase was inelegible but they have me 250 as an exception lol. I complained because I didn’t use any promo code or anything to make it ineligible, sadly support didn’t care. I replied I was going to report them to the bbb for fraud and after 7 days the wipe out all my account ($0) in everything and the recalls all emails back and forth from the server to remove all proof . They are shady af, wish I had all emails screenshots so I could sue.

Agree with others. Had 45% cashback from StubHub that disappeared. Don’t use.

Before Christmas, I received an email with a 40% rewards at Whisker (litter robot). Because of this I made the splurge (almost $800) and have been given the run around. First told to wait beyond 30 days. Then told to send merchant receipt which I did multiple times. I also sent screen shots showing “40% rewards activated”, they had my shopping trip. There is no phone number to call, only email. It takes an entire day to fet an e-mail response. After weeks of going back and forth, they tell me today they can no longer help me and closing my query. 100% SCAM!

Capital One Shopping is a scam. They consistently over promise on rewards and underdeliver. When you reach out to their customer service they will tell you that the rewards only apply through specific links and that yours was not activated. The customer service also seems very AI/robotic and can’t seem to think for themselves. I’m not confident that I’m emailing a real person. You’re better off not selling your data to them. Use Honey or literally any other shopping service that actually has their technology and customer service down.

Absolutely terrible. Four months later and no resolution, and I have a C.O. confirmation number and a receipt from the selected vendor. I will never use again.
