Almost all of the suggested jobs were not in my geographical area (and most of them were out-of-state), which was not very helpful, since I am not able to relocate.
I have had a CareerBuilder account for years. First up, it has never been a place to job search. Just spam, and obvious spam recruiters. After changing my email address, I simply wanted to u... ãã£ãšèŠã

Ever since I sent my resume to Career Builders, I have received nothing but fraudulent responses. When I notify them of these scams they send back a ref#, but then there is no follow-up and no response back when I try to follow-up. I also believe that they are selling my name to other job seeker sites. In my opinion, I would not use Career Builders ever!
Career builders deals in age discrimination. They have called me about 5 times and as soon as they know my age the hang up on me.
Sucks if your a serious Employer looking for serious qualified applicants......save your money and pass on this site. I've had much better luck with Ziprecruiter and Glassdoor.
I agree with Joseph Lauletta, I have had the exact same experience. The service is legit and my resume has gone out to many, many other companies in different states and boroughs and it keeps on deflecting me to other job opportunities that appear to be illegitimate.
Stay away to protect your info. there are tons of other job posting platforms that don't have these problems. I started getting calls from people with very strong indian accent, all offering me an interview for a job in a field I am not even related anymore. I've been asking all of them where they are getting my information. I thought they were saying Career Vendor. But just realized it was Career Builder because of their automatic email suggesting me same type of jobs.
Deleted my account.
I give this service a 2 out of 5 as they do provide a legit service. However, I recommend caution when using this website. Yes, Career Builder is legitimate, yet those who read our resumes are not so much. I put my resume on Career Builder and immediately received emails and text messages from illegitimate companies. So, be very careful with all the phishing and scrapping of our personal data on this website. I would suggest only adding minimal personal info on your resume, such as fist/last name (no middle), email, phone, and city/state for your address. This way, real employers can contact you, yet scammers will have too little data to infiltrate your identity.
This is an update on a review I posted prior:
Careerbuilder, in my opinion, has changed dramatically. I no longer use their "trusted site" due to scams & issues dealing with trusting the posts. I have taken my resume down, and really suggest that anyone who uses this site to proceed with caution.
I'd give Careerbuilder 0 stars if i could. Every time you click on a job that has you "apply on the company website" it takes you through all of these pop ups and just wont let you simply apply for the job. i even had a pop up that automatically installed an internet extension. just let us apply for the job without any popups or complications. never using again.
Very disappointed My resume info wasn't accurate or complete. Will not use again
was surprised to get job in a week after using careerbuilder, was redirected there after visiting jooble website
it's a luck :)
CareerBuilder is annoying and terrible. I had my resume on there back in my college days. Since then I have never touched it. Now in the past 3 months, I get recruiter emails and phone calls daily. None of which are relevant either. I am in NYC and people from PA and other locations keep reaching out with terrible opportunities. Two weeks ago I removed my resume and deactivated my account yet I am still getting calls and emails daily. I've never had to block so many people from my email before. STOP GIVING OUT INFORMATION WHEN SOMEONE ALREADY DELETED THEIR RESUME AND DEACTIVATED THEIR ACCOUNT.
If you're ever in the job market use Indeed or LinkedIn. CareerBuilder is trash.
Very bad after sales support while selling their product their sales team were calling to me 3 to 4 times in a week, after buying their CB portal I found many glitches in it.
I am trying to find Software Engineer but portal showing me irrelevant job titles and candidates.
I would recommend you to do not buy CB portal instead of CB buy ZipRecruiter and Dice.com
I've only posted my resume on this site and already have 4 interviews with a variety of companies. This is another great resource for job seekers.
This site sucks. Finished done with it. I tried several times to reset my password and they wouldn't let get back on. Well, I've got NEWS. This site SUCKS and if you apply for something they make you send out applications that have NOTHING to do with that job title. Too much game playing going on. The only thing I'm trying to do is find a job. If you know what's good for you DON'T WASTE your TIME with this site. Give me a break.
Careerbuilder doesn't believe in free speech. I am a veteran and fought for that right. I will not use this companies products. I am asking all my veteran brothers join me.
I get way too many emails with recommendations for jobs that have nothing to do with anything on my resume. And how they word the emails "so and so is interested in you" is a crap way to get attention. When folks are job searching these words can be music to your ears. But then to open the email and its nothing like that, total let down. Their tech teams need to revamp somethings big time! Probably Apollo's fault!
okay job site serves a purpose but there are better job sites around
I don't want to be a truck driver, but guess how many "recommendations" show up in my in-box for OTR/CDL Drivers?
So far, every company with whom I've applied has been extremely slow to respond and slow to remove job postings that are no longer open.
The few responses I've received for my resume' have been scams or other job sites.
As a job-seeker, the market is pretty good, but the very impersonal, tedious methodology for applying is awful. I've received turn-down notices from jobs nearly 3 months after applying, and the job itself was barely worth applying for in the first place.
I feel it's pretty stupid to have to submit a resume' for a delivery job that pays just above minimum wage... I mean really??? And, on top of that, the HR personnel seem to be very apathetic. Should a company that is reliant on low-skill level, high turnover manpower not have a more efficient screening process?
As a job site, CareerBuilder may be the least of the evils, but it's still evil never-the-less. Modern-day job seeking is very impersonal and extremely frustrating, and sites like CareerBuilder seem to only exacerbate the frustration!
CareerBuilder is excellent for job matching, but I have not yet been offered a position, with any of the local career opportunities, that I have applied to through the site.
