Fresh off the Feb-Apr26 LaunchPad alongside Louise B, Louise, Anna, Kim & Suzy—hi folks!—I completely endorse everything they have written about the LaunchPad. What earlier participants have written also chimes with me, and I’m delighted to read that they have completed successful career shifts thanks to the Launch Pad. On top of that, I’d add:
- Launch Pad activities involve time, effort and commitment, it’s true, but they energise you, broaden your horizons, and boost your morale.
- Activities are exquisitely well balanced between outward-facing missions and reflective exercises
- The Launch Pad course runs at a measured, moderate pace, punctuated by weekly calls that are a welcome opportunity to catch up with fellow participants (some of whom you might have worked with in the preceding week) and coaches who are always motivating but never irritating (which is a neat trick to pull off).
- Being part of a mutually supportive community, and a diverse one at that, is genuinely wonderful and very conducive to making progress. (One of my coursemates told me she had come back to do the LaunchPad again, after doing it years beforehand and making a successful career shift shortly afterwards, rather than simply applying on her own what she had learned the first time, in large part because of the mutual learning and support that being in a LaunchPad cohort provides.)
- The LaunchPad teaches you how to go about exploring career possibilities without spending long periods of time or large sums of money. An unexpected benefit for me is that I now become queasy at the thought of, say, devoting weeks to studying for a professional certification that didn’t excite me simply because it might come in handy, or look good on my CV, whereas beforehand I might have seriously contemplated it. “Experiment inexpensively!”
- Careershifters are an organisation that looks out for you. Before admitting you to the LaunchPad, they’ll have a friendly call with you to check that you and they judge that the course is right for you and that it’s a suitable time for you to participate in it. (Another of my coursemates told me she had joined after having previously deferred because, on reflection, it wasn’t the right time then.)
Therefore, I heartily recommend attending Careershifters’ introductory online workshop. It will be a couple of hours and a few pounds very well invested in yourself, your future career, and your ongoing wellbeing.

It has given me a clear tried and tested framework to explore new careers that are more aligned to my core interests and strengths. The coaching is strong, material accessible and actionable, with the added bonus of having the connection with other cohort members which really aided accountability to get stuff done!

I had a fantastic experience on the Careershifters Launch Pad programme. Really helped me think about work in new, creative ways, and I feel much more confident with stepping towards a new direction now.

Richard ran an engaging and valuable workshop about what is needed to change careers. I left the workshop with a much clearer idea of what I needed to do next.

I highly recommend Careershifters to anyone who is feeling stuck in their current job and wants to make a change but with no idea how to take that first meaningful step toward something better. Launch Pad helped me see a path to making a change, find fun ways to face my fear of the unknown head-on, and gave me the tools to take the necessary steps to take control of my career path with the support of a fabulous group of like-minded people.

The biggest thing I took away from the Launch Pad experience is that I can do scary things. It has given me a stronger sense of identity, curiosity and confidence about my future career direction - I now have the tools and know-how to try lots of different low stakes ways to test my areas of career interest. Highly recommend. I'm excited to see where I land!

I did the 8-week Launch Pad course in 2022 while on a career break just because it seemed like a good use of my time! I threw myself into it and ended up taking steps I either wouldn't have thought of or which were outside my comfort zone. I wasn't necessarily looking to make a full career change but ended up in a new role and industry within a few months, which was fully down to the course. It was helpful and inspiring working through the course with others in all sorts of roles and hearing about their own career ideas and experiences. Overall it was fun, insightful and brilliant value for money. After the course had finished I had a few one on one coaching sessions with Natasha, which were invaluable in making sense of my thoughts (as the course generated so many ideas and potential options!) and determining my next steps. Many of the concepts and perspectives I gained from the course continue to be relevant to me now - I'd recommend it to anyone feeling stuck or disillusioned in their career.

Clearly a powerful accelerator for deep reflection and meaningful action, helping you reconnect with yourself, the world, and the people around you. Highly recommended for anyone seeking clarity and guidance on their career journey. As always, you get as much value out of it as you choose to put in.

Careershifters has had a transformative and positive impact - both personally and professionally. The structured journey of self discovery and the slow building of confidence and actions to allow the changes to happen made a significant difference. Richard & the group were absolutely critical. A set of slides wouldn’t have led me to the same position. The reflections from others and holding each other to account each week was so important

I’d highly recommend the High Flyers programme. Richard and the team are fantastic — they created such a supportive space for our small group to dig into what really drives us. We explored the skills that give us energy, what makes work feel meaningful and how to test new directions in the real world. I’m coming out of this stage feeling confident, clear on what matters and excited about finding work that truly fits who I am.

The workshop was surprisingly liberating. It was great to learn that there are many of us in the same boat, and that our feelings towards our current jobs are not only reasonable, but understandable by others. I would highly recommend this workshop.

I really enjoyed the seminar by Richard Alderson of Careershifters at the Re:Work Live conference. Great food for thought and advice on what to do when contemplating or actioning a career change. Proceed with help from friendly, knowledgable experts on the subject to avoid making mistakes and to streamline the process.

Came across Careershifters at the Work Live conference in November 2025 and their talk resonated the most with me. The talk was very focussed on practical steps over the baseline advice - stop overthinking and waiting for the right time. As a committed procrastinator it struck a chord and helped me take more confident steps over the next few months.

The Careershifters workshop was an absolute highlight of my experience at the Careers Can Change conference.
Hearing first-hand how others have made the shift using the Careershifters courses has given me the reassurance and confidence in my own career change decision.

I ​joined the Careers Shifters 9 week Launchpad programme​ and it was honestly one of the best decision​s I've ever made. Before I came across caeer Shifters, ​I was pretty much in despair at not being able to articulate what I wanted to do with my life/ career and desperately needed some help to draw those answers out of me. Sitting with my lists and Googling was just not cutting it.

As a coaching​ "sceptic​" and not a fan of group activities, I was eventually coaxed into signing on for the Launchpad after watching several videos of the head coach Natasha Stanley​. Finally, I felt that someone would understand what I was going through.

Once the course kicked off, I was drawn in, head and heart, from the get go. The course is beautifully structured and I was fascinated by the psychology behind the weekly exercises. The support of the coaches and, even more importantly, from the cohort, is incredibly powerful

​As with everything, you get back what you put in so you have to do the work - both physically and mentally. There are so many good career and life lessons that come out from the Launchpad - I wholeheartedly recommend anyone on the fence to dive in.

From start to finish the CareerShifters programme has been exceptional (I say finish... the support never really finishes!).

I attended an online taster seminar at a time in my life when I was totally burned out by work and was craving some peace, clarity and a sense of hope for the future.

The seminar was inspirational. There were useful pointers which I could take and use straight away, but it convinced me that they knew their stuff and I decided to continue on to the LaunchPad Programme.

This is where the magic really happens. The LaunchPad has been crafted over many years and it's obvious from day one. It's a mix of online group sessions and assignments to do in your own time. I was shocked on the first call that there were nearly 50 participants in the group and thought "This is never going to work!". But the way the sessions are structured I never felt overlooked, and the extra benefits you draw form the collective wisdom are huge.

The activities and tasks they set you through the course help you build your confidence, self-awareness and expand your horizons. You leave the course with a wide range of tools to help you going forward.

Some people will slip fairly quickly into something new, but for most it is an ongoing process; balancing the need to pay the bills alongside your Career Shift dreams. The Team help you prepare for this and their expertise supports you through.

When the course ends you can still access all the course material, an ongoing alumni discussion group, and regular momentum calls which can be really valuable.

So - I would 100% recommend CareerShifters for anyone thinking of changing career, but at a loss where to begin.

The course was well organized and run. The materials were good and the handbook helped guide us through the session. The facilitator was very patient and knowledgeable and credible (he had been in our shoes in the past). The workshop activities were useful and got us thinking about our own situations and practical action points to shift careers. Meeting other people in the same position in the breakout rooms was also a meaningful experience.

Webinar was well structured and really informative. Made me feel positive and confident about making a change!
