Targeted and falsely charged
Car Registration NKT6065 Milage 91619
Car checked and videoed as advised at pickup.
An older Renault now white recently painted to look new, in good condition with few small markings. Recorded walk around video and car seat having 2 burn markings.
Upon leaving the compound, noticed a small scratch on the inside of the windscreen which on the outside was impossible to see. Looked like a fly hit on the windscreen this we photographed from the inside 7 minutes after leaving the compound for our security.
Car return
Upon returning the vehicle the right side of the car was checked and confirmed okay and then this windscreen scratch was immediately identified but again it is almost impossible to see from the outside. The lady knew exactly what to look for and we confirmed we had pictures made from inside the car which we showed her and she would not accept as the time was displayed as 1 hour and 7 minutes after we left the compound. The car pickup was in Greece and the time change for us is one hour. This she would not accept.
We discussed and discussed the proof we had was not accepted. After over one hour we realized our flight would soon leave. We now had to compile, signed all the papers for payment of 750 Euros to replace the windscreen which they said was not previously damaged and were taken to the airport.
Upon our return home we viewed again and again the video in slow motion and finally found clear proof that we had been targeted. If it had not been the windscreen it would have been the car seats.
I have pictures that I would like to send as I am sure we are not the first to be targeted in this way with the windscreen or seats.
The people we discussed with in the office were very aggressive. We now know why. They offer low rental prices and then profit from insurance claims.

Rented a car from CarQ (also operating as Ecorental / cargini) from 19–22 March 2026 and had a very disappointing experience.
I picked up the car at 21:30 in a poorly lit yard. I was the last customer for the day and it was dark. No wonder that the inspection by the agent was brief and limited—mainly focused on the front bumper with a quick walk around the vehicle. No proper check of the underside or lower areas was carried out. Only one scratch on the wheel arch was noted.
At return, however, a different agent performed an extremely detailed inspection, including carefully checking underneath the car—areas that were clearly not inspected at pickup. A tiny scratch (about 2 cm) was found and I was charged €350, even though this was never documented at the start.
The experience gave me the impression that the process may not be as transparent as it should be. Cars are offered at low prices, but the inspection at pickup was not thorough, while the return inspection was extremely detailed. The very small scratch that had not been recorded at pickup, likely due to the poor inspection conditions.
I have been renting cars for over 30 years (15–25 times per year) and have never experienced such a discrepancy between pickup and return inspections. This felt unfair and highly questionable.
Based on my experience, I would NOT advice renting from this company. I will certainly never do it again.

Basically they make their money by scamming people, that is why it is so cheap. Do not rent from them.
Arriving at the airport the shuttle was not there as indicated in the booking document. I called them and someone came to pick us up. Arrived at the agency and start to process with documents and deposit. We take a good look around the car which was badly damaged despite the age and kilometers (76,000kms) and off we go.
At return, a very unkind lady start to show us a scratch from UNDERNEATH the front bumper, like you have to lie down to see it. That is when she starts to transform into a chihuahua. Why a chihuahua ? Cause you can not even speak as all she does is yell yell yell and of course, finish by calling me and my girlfriend, liars. The whole situation was beyond ridiculous, and if we did not had a plane to catch, I would have loved seat all day with her and discuss on how they are crooks. Had to pay 350e for the scratch and of course, they do not repair the cars, so must be a very profitable company.

The pick up was easy, quick and friendly. They provided Zanzibar local driver's permit based on documents provided via WhatsApp - very efficient.
The tyre got damaged beyond repair, CarQ provided efficiency all documents needed to get it reimbursed from the 3rd party insurance.
The condition of the car was poor - but this is yet another part of Zanzibar experience!
Excellent service in total!

This is a review of CarQ / Cargini car rental at Athens airport. I have used them three or four times in the last 12 months and every time has been exceptional in all aspects: pick-up, drop-off, car quality, and staff friendliness / process explanation. The only advice I can give is to make sure you will have the ability to phone them so they can pick you up from the airport - but they use WhatsApp also, which helps.

Rented a car during my trip to Greece and had a good experience overall. Booking was easy, pricing clear what to expect, and the car was clean and well maintained. Pickup and return were smooth, the staff were OK. There was a small delay at pickup and communication could have been quicker, but nothing major.

Finger weg von diese Firma. Reines Abzocken. Die Mitarbeiterin Sehr Arrogant und Abzocke Orientiert .Die Kredit Karte hat "nicht fungieret,". Wollten das wir eine Extra Versicherung von IHRE Firma abkaufen für 7 Tage und das hätte noch DAZU zur der miete des Auto (eine Klein Auto Micra )198€ noch dazu gekostet Die Rechnung war in Englisch .Wir beherrschen "leider" nur Deutsch, Griechische und Tschechisch . Sie haben uns Keine Rechnung in diesen 3 Sprachen gegeben .Übersetzung). Wir haben das natürlich nicht Akzeptiert. Sie Haben uns die Miete des Autos was wir Vor bezahlt haben nicht zurückerstatten. Noch ein mal Finger weg!
