Terrible service and much more restrictive terms than booking directly with a car rental company.

You are charged immediately and there is a non-refundable component. If you try to cancel within 72 hours you are given a huge cancellation fee worth almost the whole booking. In comparison booking directly with Thrifty you are charged nothing up-front and can cancel your booking at any time. Since we couldn't change our booking, we ended up paying $120 more than if we'd been able to cancel our booking and re-book the day before.

They also will not provide you with an invoice until your booking completes despite taking your money months in advance.

The website we booked through looks like it's provided by Sydney Airport directly and not some third party company with restrictive booking policies. Seems like a scam to me and I don't understand why Sydney Airport endorses it. They need to make it clear that you're dealing with a third party and not the company themselves. When you make the booking it looks like only the Protection Plus is provided by Carrental Republic and not the entire payment.

Very disappointed - do not use this company!

Truly a stand-up company with awesome customer service. We had an issue that was dealt with fairly and we truly appreciate how open, honest and helpful everyone was. The rental car and experience was great; but what is truly commendable was the customer service!! We will definitely use you again. Thank you!!

We reserved through Carrentalrepublic, to pick up a car in Salt Lake City. Allowed a little extra time on the reservation, as I always do to accommodate air delays. We arrived an hour before time, and were offered an upgrade and told our car would not be ready for an hour. REALLY? I have never had this problem anywhere! Partant a nouveau en vacances en Grece, j'ai réservé une voiture par le site carrental republic.com

Ayant déjà rencontré des surprises avec des sites qui n'annoncent pas au début le cout "tout compris", j'ai très raisonnablement lu en détail les pages du site. Comme mon avion arrivait tard le soir à l'aéroport d'Athenes, j'ai vérifié les horaires d'ouverture d'AVIS ou se trouverait la voiture proposée. Ils sont ouverts 7/7 24/24 -> Parfait ! Je réserve (173,97 €)

Après avoir rendu la voiture (Au même endroit, plein fait, et sans accident) j'ai la surprise de voir a nouveau ma carte débitée de 28,29 € !!!

Après relecture de mon contrat signé au guichet d'Avis je trouve dans une rubrique "services optionnels"
Livraison/reprise 28,29 €
Option plein de carburant 70,07 €
Je devrais m'estimer content qu'ils ne m'aient pas aussi prélevé le 70 euros !!!

Surcharges
A Charge Of EUR 23.00 Will Apply For Reservations Before 06:00 And After 23:00 At Athens Airport (Taxable).

Ceci est noyé dans un tas d'autres surcharges (ex: Vehicle Registration Fee (Vrf)
EUR 1.00 Per Every Rental Day But Maximum Charge Of EUR 14.00 Per Rental -> cette surcharge apparaissant bien sur le calcul de prix sur le site Carrentalrepublic au contraire de la surcharge pour rencontrer le guichetier à 23h20 au lieu de 23h00.
- Allez faire la simulation d'une réservation sur CarrentalRepublic.Com et recherchez dans la popup "terms" pour essayer de trouver des conditions !
- Au passage, essayez de réserver la voiture à 23h15 (Le menu déroulant ne permet que 23h ou 23h30)

Je déconseille absolument CarRentalRepublic.com (et AVIS Athènes !)

J'avais déjà procédé à des réservations de voiture en ligne, pour le même aéroport. Le loueur sur place était AUTO-UNION, situé près de la route de 'aéroport mais qui vient vous chercher (gratuitement bien sur) à l'aéroport (moins de marche à pied que pour aller chercher le véhicule sur le parking d'Avis) Ils ne nous avaient pas fait payer leur surcharge "Dimanche" lorsque nous leur avons remis le voucher d'un site concurrent de CarRentalRepublic qui n'indiquait pas cette "option obligatoire".

Précision supplémentaire : la BOOKING CONFIRMATION reçue de CarRentalrepublic après avoit effectué ma réservation ne mentionnait aucunement ces frais supplémentaires !!!
