Castellan helps residential and commercial property owners review and appeal their property tax assessments. Based in San Francisco, we serve owners in California, Georgia, and Florida. Our work starts with the county’s assessment records, comparable properties, and market evidence. When the evidence supports an appeal, we prepare the case, handle filing, communicate and negotiate with the assessor, and represent the appeal through a hearing when needed. If the assessment is already in line with the evidence, we explain why there may be no case to file. We work with individual homeowners, rental property owners, commercial owners, and owners with multiple properties. Our approach combines technology and data analysis with tax expertise to manage the process from assessment review through resolution. There is no upfront appeal fee. Our fee is a share of savings only when an appeal produces a reduction, under the terms of the signed agreement. Individual outcomes vary, and a reduction is not guaranteed.
