The school is ok.
I started an MSc course in Bioinformatics and Biostatistics in February 2023.
It provides an adequate level of educational experience and effort. It has easy access to all the webinars and some of the resources prepared by the school (PDF booklets with a comprehensive overview of the weekly topic).
However there is 0 engagement with other students, one of the students "on my year" had to create a Discord group so we could get to know each other and talk about the course in general.
There is almost no interaction with lecturers, other than through email messages. I was surprised that we could not ask any questions during the webinars.
The school provides you with a personal tutor who you can contact if there are any questions about the course or anything related. However, the tutors do not have previous experience with Life sciences. They are just guides who help you with a platform. However, my tutor changed like 100x across the duration of my education here, and I lost track of who was my tutor or what they knew about me. I had an amazing tutor for like 3 months or something like that from whom I learned a lot about the course requirements and some deadlines etc, but then he abruptly finished his work with CEMP I think, and then I did not have a tutor for another few months, now I have someone but I barely know what we should communicate about anymore. Also, there was a situation at the start of my course when I asked about the UCAM accreditation certificate (a diploma provided by Spanish University), however, the staff of CEMP said that I did not provide the necessary documents, even though I did send the required documents to one of the tutors who was meant to forward it to appropriate staff. But because of those constant commotions around the tutors and students, this did not happen and I was not informed about this. However, I think that CEMP is very willing to fix problems like that and they did help me after all. So make sure to keep an eye on things like that.
Also, there is very little variety when it comes to exercises or practicing the knowledge gained from the course. There are basic multiple-choice questions that you can complete with the use of the booklets provided by the school. But after a few weeks, it becomes boring and repetitive. No real incentive to keep on doing those exercises other than the MUST because of the requirements. there are "modules activities" which are your main assignments upon one module is finished. They are somewhat challenging and "fun" to complete. But compared to other institutes like The Open University, CEMP provides very few alternatives in the form of videos, podcasts, outside resources, etc (they are non-existent, other than the access to ELSEVIER publications if YOU want to explore). If you are looking for something not too overwhelming and demanding with tasks and exercises, this is just for you.
With regards to fees, I believe they are accessible if you have a full-time job and money on the side that you are willing to spend for self-development or improving your CV. Supposedly schools provide some scholarships, but It is not a scholarship, they just tie you by the contract, and if you can pay them on the spot the required amount of money for a full-year course comes out relatively cheaper (around £3000). However, If you are not able to pay on the spot, you have to pay around £5000 which is broken down across 16 months which comes out to around £300 monthly (by direct debit). This is the plan I am going with and because I have a full-time job, I was okay with this plan, but for some, it might be too much (those are the fees as of 2023).
If you are looking for a school that provides an educational certificate with University accreditation (this online school provides an accredited certificate from UCAM Catholic University of Murcia), as long as you fulfill all the requirements and criteria (complete all the module tasks and final project), this school is for you.
I am still completing my year at the university and as of the day of posting this review, I still have 2 months before the completion.
