3âïž TLDR: decent job but disappointing experience. Low competency and would not recommend for large, long-haul moves. They donât respond to damages or claims and I think they need better training. I have no doubt theyâll lie to you if itâs in their best interest.
*After reaching out with a final complaint following my review, the company finally deigned to contact me and action my claim. They offered me $120, increased from the $82 my damages were valued at following their $300 deductible for the extended coverage I purchased. Do I think it's enough? Not really. Am I still disappointed? Yeah. Am I grateful I finally got what I should have a month ago? Yeah*
From what I saw online and compared to other companies I spoke to and quotes I received, I opted for centennial moving. My sales rep was Cleo who, from the beginning, I found to be decently competent but perhaps somewhat new. Nevertheless, she was kind and responsive in the beginning.
I was moving from Toronto, ON to Calgary, AB. When it came to pick up, the gentlemen who arrived were again competent, relatively quick, and they followed my instruction. However, what I realized upon delivery was that they damaged a piece of furniture in my apartment on pick up day, right in front of me, and failed to tell me. They unscrewed a piece of desk and put the screws back in their place, I assume for safe keeping, and screwed right through the top of my desk. The damage is unfortunate of course and not ideal, but the fact that they didnât tell me is what really bothered me. I mean the damage was done so it doesnât really matter, but at least it could have been documented and reported.
I placed an AirTag in one of my boxes so I could keep track of my belongings which I highly recommend. It doesnât always relay the location when the truck is in transit because it canât get close enough to an apple device for long enough to refresh but Iâm still glad I did it.
Fast forward to delivery day. The two gentlemen, different from pick up, were great. I was really happy with their competence and speed. They scuffed the walls in a few spots and pointed it out, even offered to clean it. It was no big deal and I cleaned it up once they left. They didnât put one piece of furniture together properly but not a big deal. I noticed a frame had its glass broken and let them know, they documented it, and suggested it was the pick up peopleâs fault because they wrapped and moved the item more, which Iâm inclined to agree with. If I could rate them separately Iâd give them 4-4.5 stars.
When I reached out to Cleo regarding the damage and put in a claim (I paid extra for additional insurance coverage), she was responsive and apologetic and advised how the claim process works. After two weeks of no communication from her after submitting my claim, I reached back out to convey my disappointment. She called me to apologize and said she would follow up with the claims department. I kindly asked to send me that in writing and she did. Itâs now been over a month since that communication. I havenât reached back out for two reasons; first, the damaged was relatively small and not something that really affected me, and second, I want to see how competent this company is. Short answer, not very. So now, Iâm posting a real experience, detailed review so people donât make any mistakes moving forward.
With companies like this itâs hard not to think theyâre trying to milk every possible dime out of you and that was a little bit my experience. I was quoted $2,000-$2,500 and ended up paying over $3,000. Now I had a lot of books and I get that itâs by weight but their weight calculator is so trash and accounts for such low weight per items, itâs ridiculous. You canât tell me thatâs not strategic and by design to increase customers totals no matter what theyâve been quoted. Bottom line, I wouldnât recommend Centennial Moving. Maybe for a short/local move if youâre not moving much, but definitely not for a large, long distance journey.

BAIT AND SWITCH. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Negative star rating.
Awful experience. everything was good until the date they were supposed to pick up my belongings. I cannot waste anymore energy regarding this company and my experience⊠please trust that my wife and I are understanding people, but we experienced, was highly unacceptable and extremely unprofessional. They should not be in business.
Please trust me and do yourself a favour and do not use this crooked business. I am trying to help others with this review.

I highly recommend Centennial Moving for your cross-country moving needs.
I looked into many different companies and received many quotes, they were the most competitive. The clear, prompt, and supportive communication between myself and the long-distance coordinator (Steven Mills) was comforting. He set my mind at ease. When I had questions or concerns, he answered them all.
The process of completing the online estimate and inventory was clear and easy to update, and I appreciated the reminders to verify any changes.
Nate and Eric from the dispatch team were great too. The company sends emails to ensure all the details for pickup and delivery are correct, and both were prompt with responding to my questions and updates.
The two movers at pick-up packed everything with care, wrapping the odd pieces neatly and securely. They were very friendly (I'm sorry I forget their names, but one has initials JC ð). They were efficient as well. I received the updated official inventory list and payload weight invoice within 24 hours...and it was below the original estimate too, woot!
The delivery only took 3 weeks.
Michael was the sole driver from Chilliwack, BC to Timmins, ON. I received a notice when he was 25 minutes away and once he arrived. We set up the parking spot and access to where I was storing my stuff, and I had the number checklist to cross off as my items were unloaded. He had a local mover to help which went very quickly, done within the hour (I didn't have any furniture, mostly boxes and bags). They took care to unwrap and place things in an organized way for me to adjust as I wanted.
All in all, it was a stress free experience.

I would like to recognize and commend Jose and Sergio who are from the North York, ON moving crew with Centennial, but, were in Langley BC assisting the company for our pick up on July 30/25. These two gentlemen were very professional and efficient and took care with the belongings being moved. Although they arrived late due to circumstances beyond their control they made every effort to adhere to the time constraints of the building to have the elevator blocked off for them, and finished the job as close to that time as humanly possible. They wrapped furniture with care, were tidy and courteous, ensuring to pick up anything set aside while cleaning out the apartment, such as packaging, tape, tools etc. I want the company to be aware they have an exceptional moving crew in these two gentlemen and I would highly recommend and entrust them to get the job done well for any family or friend.

The estimate was acceptable, as were the prompt pickup and delivery dates, however, there was so much aggravation from so many emails, some sent automatically, but more problematic were the multiple emails regarding whether or not the large truck could turn around on our driveway, despite being advised that another full size truck was able to turn around long before we widened and extended our driveway into a circular driveway. I sent photos and screenshots from Google Earth showing how much space there was for a truck to turn, and offered a suitable place to turn across the road. Many emails followed, and I wondered if their drivers were completely incompetent.
The driver arrived at my door on the specified date, within the specified time frame, but he was smoking, which I believe should never happen as the customer could have an adverse reaction to smoke, as happened to me. I pointed to his cigarette as I struggled for breath but he ignored that and kept smoking.
Then he argued with me and cut me off when I tried to answer his multiple questions about where I thought he could turn his truck, and seemed to think I had lied about another delivery truck being able to turn in a smaller space years ago.
When I offered to show him an alternative place to turn around, I struggled for breath as we walked, and then he again said no, this was unsuitable, but he was pointing to the end of the school bus turnaround I was showing him. The other end was where I was showing him where to turn, but he pointed there, where I was taking him, and acted as if he discovered it himself. It was a very rude and unpleasant exchange.
My boxes were unloaded onto a pallet on our tractor on the road next to our driveway, but he tried to load all 25 boxes, which I asked him to stop. It needed to be done with two trips, or the boxes were stacked too high to be safely driven down the slope of our driveway. He carried them into the house and put them as I instructed.
One box had an 8" gash in the side, but he made no mention of it, however, I inspected it carefully and there was no damage, but that was pure luck.
During the delivery, I kept quiet because I didn't want any further problems or arguments to arise, but I was extremely relieved to see him leave.
Cross posted.

They changed the delivery dates after I paid the deposit to include time I was out of town. To ensure that my delivery would not arrive whip I was out of town they charged me an additional $118 fee on top of the already premium priced service. Further, despite communicating clearly and repeatedly my availability due a scheduled work trip in a remote area with low connectivity they texted me a bunch of times with a bunch of questions that could have been one email.

Excellent and super professional company. They moved our boxes and furniture with such care and professionalism. Very nice and positive guys who pick up and drop off your belongings: they took such a big load of stress off our shoulders! And the price of the move was better than many other companies that gave us a quote. I normally donât write reviews but these guys stood out in how good they were!

I recently moved from Toronto to Calgary and had a great experience with Centennial. The team was very efficient both on pick-up and delivery. They were also very helpful and patient disassembling my bed on pick-up day.
The team also had great communication, sending e-mails and SMS in every step as well as answering my questions timely.

Centennial Moving has provided excellent service - from helping us pack our things in Toronto to unloading and assembling them in our new home in Calgary.
The staff and movers are really kind and accommodating ensuring that we will have a smooth and problem-free moving experience.

Very good company. Trustworthy. They timed everything correctly. Everything arrived intact without any damage.
Only thing i would say, its the movers in BC were not very friendly, a bit rude.
On the other hand, the ones in Ontario were super nice!

Goods received damaged and vacuum missing
Movers who came to pickup the stuff didnât have enough supplies and didnât pack some of the stuff properly. They said will pack again in the warehouse.
They even insisted us to take the extended insurance
Result : they lost our expensive vacuum worth approx $1500
Damaged our book shelf worth $1100 and damaged mattress worth $300
Offered us $11.00 for compensation
Stay away from this moving company
Update : we have contacted them again and they said based on their insurance policy $300 is deductible and based on the weight of the items missed or damaged they canât do anything and case is closed . So we lost $3,000 by choosing centennial and they canât do anything .
STAY AWAY FROM THEM !!!!

The experience was great. Lots of communication took place before the moving and expectation was clear for both side. On the moving day the drivers show up on time and the job was done efficiently.

We moved from Ontario to New Brunswick and everything was great, from getting the quote and having our stuff delivered. They were transparent from start about the quote and time it may take for delivery. Very easy to upload inventory information on the portal. Pick up and delivery was on time and our stuff was delivered within 3 days, no damages at all. The whole process was made very easy, and final bill was almost $600 less than the quote due to the weight of our stuff, they were honest about this where a company can easily charge full agreed amount at quote time. Very happy with overall experience.

The moving has been smooth all along from getting a quote estimate, process details, pick-up and drop off. The estimated time given was honored and in fact received it earlier than expected. Due to this we couldnât utilize the drop-off at home. However the wrapping of furniture was top notch and were brought very professionally. I highly recommend their services.

centennialmoving.ca ããã®åç
My experience with Centennial was fantastic. They were speedy in order to provide the estimate, and the communication was the same on all my follow up questions. They gave a window of arrival and also drop off in Toronto and they stuck with it. And best part of all was they were quick and efficient with the load/unload. I was very impressed that they could get it all on due to my larger furniture pieces. They moved everything carefully with no damage. They handled everything perfectly. Both crews did a fantastic job and I'm so grateful for all their help. I'm so glad to have found this company for my move, and will recommend them to anyone in need of help moving.

We searched long and hard and finally we found Centennial Moving. We moved across 3 provinces to Ontario. The two crews were nothing short of excellent with our load. Nothing was missing. Nothing was damaged. Everything was reassembled correctly. They worked really quickly and were good with us. We found a real gem from what I can read on the internet regarding other peoples moves. After putting in the time to find someone like Centennial it was all worthwhile.
