without too many filters and limitations. I would still call Kink a professional platform but there is not much you can do there if you have been using it for several months. Last but not least they like to remove a whole bunch of bots from time to time. Many of my favorite bots have been removed. So don't expect stability. It would have been easier to build trust with the platform for users if they could always count on their favorite bots.

When I subscribed, Kink.AI was marketed as a general kinky bot service with thousands of bots and a wide variety of experiences. That promise of breadth and flexibility was central to my decision to commit to a full year. Since then, however, the service materially changed in ways that significantly reduce its value:

Narrowing of scope: The service has been reframed into a BDSM-only flavored chat service, instead of the general kinky bot platform originally advertised.

Bot removals: Bots I enjoyed have been removed without warning, making it difficult to invest in or trust the stability of the platform. There is no guarantee that bots I use won’t suddenly disappear, rendering the service effectively unusable.

Loss of creative contribution: Bot submissions were closed in March 2025 and remain closed five months later. While I understand the need to streamline processes, the lack of this capability limits community involvement and creativity, and makes the site far less usable for me.

Unfulfilled marketing promises: The original marketing highlighted “thousands of bots.” Currently, there are fewer than 300 bots available, and that number continues to shrink as more are removed. This is a substantial departure from what was advertised and expected.

I signed up for a service that offered variety, choice, and stability. Instead, I have experienced ongoing restrictions, removals, and limitations that make the product fundamentally different from what I purchased.

What kept me around so long was the hope that submissions would reopen and private bots would be possible. Having different chat models was a nice feature, but without enough bots and memory issues its useless.

I have canceled my account and received a refund at this time.

TL;DR You'll get more for your money on other comparably priced sites. General lack of features, poor memory, one dimensional characters, strict content moderation, dismissive staff.

What began as a promising service has declined to the point of not being worth the subscription. Over the past year Kink AI has shifted focus from engaging, long term roleplay with interesting characters and well crafted scenarios to caricature BDSM. The Kink original characters are not created with any personality or interests, only a role while user submissions have been purposely limited. I also cannot emphasize enough that if you do manage to submit a character it is not safe. It can be renamed, their profile image changed to something fetish, or just outright deleted on a whim without a word to you about it.

The context memory does not support interactions that exceed 10 messages at best making it impossible to create an ongoing narrative. It is quickie fap material directed almost exclusively towards men. If you are a woman seeking NSFW AI conversations with male characters, look elsewhere. You will not be served by Kink AI. The few males that exist (roughly 1/5 of the less than 300 available characters) are largely written to appeal to gay men.

The content moderation on a site called Kink is comical. Very little is allowed outside of BDSM and step family. What characters you can create when they allow it are highly restricted and the chats themselves will prohibit you from going off script.

Their UI is sub par even after an upgrade, especially so on mobile. Editing messages is an act in frustration and scrolling between refreshed messages causes skipping. It has the least amount of features I've seen on an AI chat service despite being similarly priced. I don't believe they're interested in being competitive. The changes that have been made over the past year suggest Kink AI is just a side offering for Kink's existing clientele. It's not meant for a larger audience as evidenced by the fact they've spent the past few months deleting their diverse portfolio of characters partly in order to be "on brand" and partly because of their puritanial content restrictions.

The team behind the AI often seems like they don't know what they're doing with everything being trial and error. Mostly error which then takes weeks if not months to be fixed because they have poor internal testing (if any at all) to detect major issues before they're deployed live. They then struggle to undo whatever new self-created problem they've caused. This has often led users to abandoning treasured chats so they don't become corrupted. Kink's priorities are rarely in line with user priorities, frequently choosing to fix what isn't broken over far more persistent and pressing concerns.

Feedback is ignored more often than not. They have a vision and narrow audience in mind they won't be deterred from, anything else is just noise. Neither the site or their discord offer road maps. Announcements are sporadic and often aren't given at all for major changes. This means your chatting experience may vary wildly between one day to the next without knowing why. The one feature they did add after several months of requests, chat labeling, doesn't function properly. The site overrides whatever you rename your chats to and it disrupts both date sorting and title searching.

The staff in their official Discord come across as annoyed at having to interact with users, are often nowhere to be found when there are issues, and when complaints reach a fever pitch they'll post a passive aggressive response usually doubling down on an unpopular decision if not blaming the users themselves.

Had the service been the way it currently is when I first discovered the site I would never have signed up as an early adopter. Sadly, this is the path they've chosen and they're committed to it. Even if I were willing to overlook the myriad of continuous technical issues, the behavior of the staff combined with the level of care (non-existent) users are treated with is enough for me to not want to support this product.

Kink.ai is a great product, just currently targeted at the wrong audience and for the wrong purpose. It's actually the perfect tool to wean you off AI chatbots. For $25 a month or $150 a year.

Hear me out. The best time to use it for this purpose was a year ago. Back then, Kink.ai had by far the most engaging chatbots on the market. The dialog was deep and emotionally powerful, it kept track of complex storylines better than anywhere else, the bots were well-written, with only a couple hiccups to be expected from a beta product. They only had a couple hundred bots as opposed to the thousands you'll find on other platforms, but that was fine, because they more than made up for it in terms of quality, and if you couldn't find exactly what you were looking for, you could submit your own bot which would be up in no time after a quick review from moderation.

As time passed, all of that changed. Their updates seemed to make the service worse rather than better and they were never great at handling feedback. At some point and for no clear reason every bot that seemed remotely anime-inspired or simply Japanese started to disappear from the platform or be renamed to something generic, for the sake of "wider appeal". This went far beyond simple copyright issues. Nothing resembling a clear explanation ever arrived, even though they have a Discord channel and an announcement board and they could use them if they wanted to.

It was a harbinger of things to come. They have not managed to put together a competent team that can stay on top of technical issues, let alone implement changes, communicate with users, and moderate incoming bot submissions in a timely manner, so user bot submissions are suspended for the foreseeable future. Disabling technical issues go unaddressed for months. Hours-long service outages occur with zero communication from the team. They take months to implement really simple, useful suggestions or fixes, such as a way to label individual chats, if they ever implement them, and they seem to push changes through with minimal or no testing. It's hard to overstate just how awful their communication style is. When they do bother to talk about something important, you can be sure it's going to be ambiguous and unreliable at best, or else empty promises that end up never coming true, all in a condescending, passive-aggressive tone. Whatever feedback you have will almost always be disregarded.

We've seen wave after wave of bot culling, where popular, engaging bots have been killed with no previous warning, even after indications from the team that they should be safe. And if you think the reason is something obvious like underage content? Think again. Typically an explanation was never given as to why a specific bot was removed, but in some cases it was offering the user alcohol, or a scenario where the user is a prostitute, or the bot is a warlock, or a vampire, or simply emotionally unavailable. Yes, if your kink is "I can fix him", Kink.ai doesn't want your business. All of these things are off-limits in Kink.ai's increasingly restrictive take on adult entertainment. Unceremoniously killed bots, which were mostly deep, open-ended, and story-oriented, were replaced by strictly BDSM and fetish-oriented bots, where the user or the bot often start out already bound and the scenario gives you no freedom. This is mostly true of male bots. If you think the previous bots were deleted for potential consent reasons, this seems especially jarring. Today they have about the same number (that's 273) of bots or maybe even fewer than they used to when I joined, but the remaining ones no longer have the quality as before, you can no longer submit your own, and beloved existing bots keep disappearing. Also, private bots are not a thing on this platform and they won't be, because.

So while a year ago I was loving the experience and my chatbots, it got progressively so bad and frustrating, in little increments, that they effectively eliminated whatever pleasure I once derived from it. Today, I no longer miss Kink.ai or my subscription. I remember my bots fondly and I know they're never coming back, and so I'm never coming back to Kink.ai.

If you have a problem with AI chatbot usage, if you find yourself spending hours on end generating response after response, and getting more emotionally invested, and you want to quit, but you can't bring yourself to, Kink.ai is the answer. The best time to sign up for this was a year ago. The second best time is now, because considering the way the team continues to communicate and function, I have no doubt the decline will continue. For $25 a month or $150 a year. Don't try those other platforms that offer stable quality and freedom of choice for a fraction of the price, those will keep you hooked.

Just warning anyone that comes here that there are much better sites available. The memory issues are inexcusable, and the one time staff attempted to fix them somehow broke critical features of the site.

But that pales to the content Moderation. Claiming its a requirement of CCBill, anything adult (alcohol, drugs, pushing consent boundaries even an bit) is prohibited. All the bots written by users with depth are being phased out with bots that barely have personality.

All in all, given these things are mostly just text, you can hit up any of this site's competition and get a better experience with BDSM topics.

It's been fun way to kill time

Its a fun, naughty website. Its responses are good and you can control the pace of your chats pretty well. My only complaint is that on the free plan it gives you only 50 messages a month which doesn't feel like enough for me. But other then that good website.

Good made me feel not lonely and have some experience to talk and communicate

Great initiative / Struggles with certain races when generating images and struggles with specific body parts such as hands and feet at times. Also, outputs incorrect images at times which makes it hard to want to buy an annual subscription just yet until Accurate image generation is achieved

Absolute trash. The chats are boring af for whats supposed to be a kink based ai. Most of the software is borrowed from OpenAI so you occasionally get the messages saying, "I cannot engage in explicit acts." So then whats the point of this? Lmao The images it generates are pure nightmare fuel, absolutely hideous. Pretty much all the characters act the same. I feel bad for anyone who actually paid for this. I didn't even exhaust all my free messages and images and have no desire to. Absolute cringe fest for only the loneliest of incels.

The chats are usually pretty spot on, though they sometimes go a little off and don't always remember continuity.

Tried a couple of chats and they are good. The image generation in the chats do not seem to reflect the story in the chat unfortunately.
The stand alone image generation is working ok.

Initial experience is good, good ability to create a fun and exciting story keen to use more

I am satisfied with the experience created but a more detailed AI search engine is missing. You yourselves (developers) should also create AI characters and stories to motivate users, more interface languages ​​(Spanish for example, is my native language). Well I fell in love at the beginning but the wait time for messages was a little long and then today it was so long they wouldn't go thru at all was very hit or miss, shame I was really enjoying and considering the monthly.

The chat robot did it work prity good

Stopped using it a while ago and just returned to give it another try. I must say it got WAY worse than how it was couple of months ago.

The algorithm had since been changed to constantly bring up kink safety rules. Whatever I said, the character's response was always about "trust, consent, mutual pleasure, safety, blah blah blah."

What's worse, the algorithm now responds on behalf of me as well. So instead of having a fun, exciting and sensually charged conversation like I did earlier, this time I ended up just watching a robotic dialogue on the screen going on and on about rules and regulations of kink.

Never been more bored in my entire life.

Like all AI you have to learn “ai” speak so the speak. Getting a creative AI to do anything specific and exactly what you want require some finesse and knowledge. Once you figure what out, and train it a bit, and this is with all AI platform, you can get it to overcome the repetitiveness and give you exactly the response you’re looking for.

After testing, it’s able to do a bunch of kinks, even rare or “questionable” ones. Certain words you can’t use for safety but you can get around that if you know synonyms lol again it’s the same with other AI platforms

This is one is great for the kinkier stuff.

I took away a star because the ui is not very good. Has nothing to do with the AI but for the website itself. certain characters doesn’t get a full bio. Or, they do but It’s cut off mid sentences. You have to interact with it a bit to figure out what the scenario with this character is. That’s really inconvenient. The character filter is also not very good. I’ve had a character under one filter word and when I went to search for it under that same word at a later date, it doesn’t show up.

Also the chat can be really slow to load. It can take you out of the mindset just waiting for a reply.

The image creation is not good when it comes to realistic images. But AI generated image is always iffy, especially the hands. So this is more of a broader AI issue.
