Adam the sweet shop guy needs a raise because he is so helpful and nice and made my experience so much better and he helped my friend find his card and made sure we got out the theme park safely.

I can’t believe how disappointing my experience was



I can’t believe how disappointing my visit to Chessington World of Adventures was. As someone who requires accommodations due to a disability, I was shocked to find that they offered absolutely NO support at all.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear that accessibility was not even on their radar. The queues were completely inaccessible, making it impossible for me to wait in line for any of the rides. We eventually managed to get on just one ride, and it was a huge letdown considering the high price of admission.

For the amount of money spent, I expected a far more inclusive experience. Instead, I felt forgotten and ignored throughout the entire day. The lack of basic accommodations made our visit not only frustrating but truly terrible.

If you have a disability, save your money and skip Chessington World of Adventures. It’s not worth the hassle or the heartbreak.

VERY DISAPPOINTED DON’T COME HERE!

Title: Disappointing Experience at Chessington World of Adventures

I recently visited Chessington World of Adventures and was left feeling extremely disappointed. As someone who requires certain accommodations due to a disability, I expected a more inclusive experience, but unfortunately, that was not the case.

From the moment I arrived, it was clear that accessibility was not a priority. Paths were narrow and often blocked, making it difficult to navigate with a mobility aid. The staff seemed poorly trained on how to assist guests with disabilities; when I asked for help, I felt ignored and brushed off.

Many of the attractions had little to no accommodations for guests with disabilities, and I found it frustrating that some rides were essentially off-limits without any alternative options provided. The overall lack of consideration for accessibility severely impacted my enjoyment of the park.

Considering that theme parks are designed to be fun for everyone, it was shocking to see such a lack of efforts made to include all guests. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed, knowing that others in similar situations might have a worse experience.

Chessington World of Adventures needs to take a long, hard look at their accessibility policies and really make an effort to improve. Until then, I wouldn’t recommend this park for anyone with a disability.

Disappointing Experience at Chessington World of Adventure**

I recently visited Chessington World of Adventure with my family and had a disappointing experience that I feel compelled to share.

**Food Quality:** The food was well below expectations—overpriced and served in small portions, lacking freshness and flavor. Given Chessington’s reputation as a family destination, I expected much better quality.

**Staff Attitude:** Many staff members appeared unhappy and unmotivated, which created a rather depressing atmosphere. Their lack of enthusiasm felt unwelcoming and detracted from our overall enjoyment of the park.

**Parking Fees:** We were also surprised to be charged for parking after already paying for entry. This added to our frustration, especially alongside the high prices for food.

**Park Maintenance:** The overall maintenance of the park was lacking, with several areas feeling neglected and in need of upkeep, which diminished the immersive experience we anticipated.

**Arcade Machines:** We encountered issues with the outdoor arcade grab machines. Despite reporting these problems to staff, they were unable to assist us, which was particularly disappointing for the younger members of our group who were eager to have fun with those machines.

**Fast Pass System:** The fast pass system seemed unfair, as it favors those with more money, allowing them to enjoy a significantly better experience. Many families, including us, cannot afford these additional costs, especially given stagnant wages. This creates an unnecessary divide among visitors that should not exist in a family-friendly environment.

**Feedback Follow-Up:** We filled out feedback on a tablet in the park, stating our concerns and were promised a response within 7 days, but we have yet to hear back. This lack of follow-up is disappointing and adds to our concerns.

Overall, our visit to Chessington World of Adventure was underwhelming. I hope the management takes these issues seriously to ensure future visitors have a more positive experience.

Staff are so rude or hungover

Visited Chessington last Sunday and what a total disaster and waste of money and time.

The staff, mainly a bunch of teenagers with hangovers are without doubt possible the rudest bunch ever. The girl running the bumper cars said to customers I’m too ill to care so just do whatever you want as a 3 year old tried to get into a car. Was shocked. The Vampire ride their digital system said a 40 minute que but actually qued for 1 hour 50 minutes and wasted a big portion of the day.

All in all a terribly run business, with ZERO customer service.

Shocking, don’t waste your money

What can I say. Poor customer care, the staff have no interest and seem to be part time students.

The park is run down and tatty. Everything is over priced, toilets are horrendous.

The wait time is on average 50mins for a ride that lasts 3 mins at most.

What is even more sad is the animals are clearly not being looked after. Some look like they have mental health issues from being locked up in such confined space.

Advice, don’t waste your money. Shocking. Would never go again.

Do not waste your money!

Do not waste your money!! Customer service poor!! Spent money on petrol, hotel and tickets to come here to end the summer holidays, had a disability pass, and still only managed a few rides all day as most rides broken down or ‘to full to book’ although when turning up the rap Que was empty. Disgraceful. Didn’t have this problem when going Alton towers. And they couldn’t care less. I understand rides breaking down, but not 80% at one time with not many others to book.

My children's 1st experience of a theme…

My children's 1st experience of a theme park, and the worst ever. A ray which I thought would be spectacular and a great experience! We even stayed the night at their monkey themed room.

The money we spent I could have gone abroad for the weekend maybe longer.
In 2 days we managed 7 rides!

I paid £24 to fast track 1 ride which was
A ridiculous ride. Used to be called bubble works. Every child loves bubbles but no they replace it with a new theme.

Whilst we was eating in the hotel which I add cost over £70 to eat their bufffet! The ceiling started to leak water, the water splashed my 1 year old and 4 year old.

Complained to the the company and they offer tickets to go back for £20 each but have to be used this year!

110 minute wait for a ride then when it was our turn the ride had technical issues to which we waited a further 20 mins than went off to another ride.

This is all with intent so you can spend loads on fast track. The worst experience I shall never return to this theme park. Honestly to everyone this is not a person who just didn't enjoy themselves or really was a shambles and I would not want ANYONE to experience the same as we did especially for all the money we paid.

You should be ashamed to allow your Theme park to be run in such a poor manner!

Well the day started well

Well the day started well, but two long que’s later and both rides broken down whilst we are just near the gates again is pretty naff. We are now on the que for the third ride and guess what, another breakdown. Now a fourth ride….again. 2hours wasted queuing on the Tiger ride alone on two separate occasions ….joke.

I can’t change this to one star for some reason.

Complete rip off

Complete rip off. Massively overpriced to a point that it is just pxxx taking

£15 for a box of small Chinese plain noodles - tasteless and cheap

Tickets over prices £50+ per person. 60-90min queuing for a 2 min ride

Fast track £50-80 per person additional

Absolutely rubbish the whole thing

Worst park. Do not pay the money!

This park has the worst customer service it’s shocking. Chessington continues to disappoint each time for us we won’t be returning. Rides constantly breaking down. Factor this as it takes most of your day! No care from staff if you queued for 50minutes to be turnt away an having to re queue. Anything over this time you should be allocated a fast track! No care of time wasted for what’s a 8hour day. Zufari closed all day when we arrived so no animal encounter experience(half the reason we choose this park) staff simply do not care about the frustration from families who work hard to experience these days out but at this park we continuously leave feeling underwhelmed it’s not worth the money at all. Chessington has really gone down hill! I would encourage any family to re think an choose another park, mainly for the customer care experience than anything else!

We had a great couple of days

We had a great couple of days. One star lost due to a rude member of staff on vampire shouting at me and my autistic son to hurry up and tell us how many in our group. He also shouted for everyone to unbuckle before the ride stopped and again was visibly frustrated when people waited for the stop ‘I’ve already told you twice UNBUCKLE’

Other than that the shows were great, rides stayed open all day. We used the taster vouchers for the summer festival food so that was a big saving too!

Found the entire day fustrating and…

Found the entire day fustrating and endless. I can't imagine I will ever bother again.
Queue times were obscene, if there were a couple of members of staff on the busy rides to check heights, secure safety bars, release safety bars etc it would clear queue times dramatically... one member of staff to do this and operate the ride does not make for a speedy turn around. People have paid enough to attend, I feel Merlin should show more respect to the customer and ensure staff levels are appropriate to reduce the endless waiting.
There clearly isnt an upper limit to the amount of visitors that are admitted to the park, many rides with queue times of 2+ hours.
We paid £12 extra EACH for a fast pass on ONE ride but still had to wait in the fast pass ride for 45mins.
We didn't manage to get on even half the rides we wanted to.
There are not enough loos, and they need to be cleaned and stocked regularly, there is no excuse for loos with no soap or loo paper.
The vending machines eat your coins without delivering the goods, there aren't any staff available roaming around the park to ask for assistance.
The Tiger in his measly enclosure could do with a week away to Longleat Safari Park to stretch his legs and the Sea Lions could really do with their green algae pool being cleaned :(

The one star I've given them is one…

The one star I've given them is one star more than I'd like to but there's not an option of giving no stars, although my 2 year old got in for free, myself, wife, teenage son & in-laws entrance fee including 2 car park spaces cost me just shy of £200. Queues were ridiculous, hardly anything for my 2 year old to go on, hardly any animals to see, most of the restaurants were closed & the ones that were open were so over priced. You could have a slap up meal in a top London restaurant for better value for your money. We left after only a few hours. Would never ever go back & would highly recommend that nobody in their right mind forks out for a fun family day there, because that is not what you'll get!!!!

Waste of time and money, go elsewhere.

Parking not included in the ticket.
You also have to pay the low emissions fee which virtually starts at the entrance.

Waiting time for rides are ridiculous 60 minutes turned to a 2 hours wait for the ride to then brake down. Two rides broke down during our time and another closed ? unsure why.

The numbers for reserve and ride do not seem to be limited and too many people in the park, leading to crazy wait times. We have waited less at Disney Orlando in peak season for significantly better rides. Legoland Windsor also had lower wait time for most things in August School holidays.

There is nobody monitoring the waiting lines for the bigger rides, so people just come and go as they please bringing their friends with them, despite signs clearly stating they can't do this.

Limited staff presence within the park, significantly less than lego land.


Very limited rides for any child less that 1.3 meters. This also seems to be inconsistent with the type of ride. Example able to go on the vampire ride, but not able to go on significantly less daring rides. Children between ages 5-8 not well catered for.

Toilets were filthy, like dirty sanitary bins absolutely over flowing.

We had a terrible experience when we…

We had a terrible experience when we visited Chessington a few weeks ago. We only got on 4 rides all day due to ride breakdowns and staff not doing their jobs properly. Having complained we were told our complaint was not upheld… so we spent almost £150 on a day out where each ride cost us almost £45. I cannot believe the lack of. Customer service. We will never return again. The whole experience was disappointing and terribly upsetting for both my young children. We wasted a whole day queuing for very little back (4 rides). They let far too many people in, and they cannot accommodate this. Every guest we encountered in the queues were just as upset as we were! Unbelievably disappointed and unbelievably shocked by the lack of customer service! They just want your money and the service does not match up!
This is the unhelpful response we received to our complaint! We asked for a refund due to our very poor experience.

I apologise that you were unhappy with the nature of my colleague's response. Upon review of your case, I believe that we have acted fairly and in line with the feedback you have provided. Therefore, I must politely decline your request to escalate this case further.

Queues are the killer.

Just myself and my daughter for a day out on my birthday. She's a bit of thrill seeker so couldn't wait to get on the rides. We were there for 7 hours and spent over 5 of them queuing for Mandrill, vampire and the dragon coaster.
The queues are nothing more than tight pig pens with broken screens and the glorious smell of overflowing bins. Mandrill, considering it's brand new, is completely exposed to the elements. Standing is scorching sun for well over an hour is a horrible experience.
With such a long time spent in queues we didn't get to see anything else in the park like the safari or sea life centre.
The only way to do it there is buy the fast pass but its over £100 extra each. It definitely isn't worth a £300 day out. Glad we got to try Mandrill but we won't ever be back.

Absolutely a waste of time

Absolutely a waste of time. Customer service is zero, went to get food and was totally ignored from the staff, other just walked in front of me and even though the staff knew this they still just served the person who had pushed in. Never visit that place again, I was visiting from Canada so this review and experience will be shared abroad.

Far to few seats near rides

Far to few seats near rides. I have mobility issues and has ro stand and wait for over an hour to watch my family on certain rides... MUCH to expensive to pay and reserve a space. £6.00 per person per ride is in my opinion extortionate. Also could I suggest you take a tip from American theme parks...if one adult has to stay with a child, they so not have to.re-queue. Sometimes both parents want to ride but have a child the right height and one that iant

Read the reviews….don’t waste your money!

Just like most of the other reviews for this place, it is an absolute s#$t show. Miserable kids running the rides, massively long queue times, overpriced food that was dry, served by miserable staff, £4.75 for a doughnut, have a word! Whole day spent there and only got on 5 out of 7 rides as 2 broke down while queueing, didn’t even get to see the animals. Paid for a family of 4, £10 for parking and a lovely ULEZ charge for travelling 100 yards to the entrance. One massive disappointment and a complete waste of money. Not a cheap day out for families. Will never take my kids there again and will definitely NOT be recommending to anyone. 👎🏻 Wish we had of gone to Thorpe Park instead!
