This auction site is good fun but unfortunately it is not what it claims.
They use Bots to automatically bid to ensure they sell at the prices that they want
IT IS NOT A TRUE AUCTION SITE so DONT be fooled !!! Essentially you are simply buying the products at the minimum price that they set to be profitable.
In addition although the items appear good value you pay for what you get with the majority of items being cheap, low quality Chinese products. Clever use of photography is also one of the tricks in their arsenal of deception
Having said that it can be fun albeit an illusion. Just do not expect a real bargain
They don't deserve more than 2 stars, not because of the quality of merchandise or indeed the service/delivery which incidentally are good.
It is because of the dishonesty in the claims that they are running a true auction when they are not
You can verify these claims for yourself as the auto bot algorithm is quite basic, Just monitor one on their popular items over a period of time, for example the GESTREO 4 Burner Gas Stove with Oven.
Minimum selling price is 2201 Baht. You can watch this auction for 24 hours and not once will this item be sold below that price but more than 80% of the time it will be sold at exactly that price.
When it is sold above that price you know that there are a few genuine buyers bidding against each other, when actually there is no need to do so.
I dont know why they need to emploiy these tactics. Go to Lazada and the same oven sells at a 30% higher price
Another disappointment is that the user is unable to leave a PRODUCT REVIEW. Some of their products are absolutely awful whereas some are in fact very good value for money.
Chillindo could do themselves a big favor by being truthful.
1. Stop using bots to push the auction prices up and simply advise each auction has a reserve price
2. Set up product reviews and ratings
I still use Chillindo to make purchases but i do so with the knowledge shared above and the fact that customer service is good.
