Formal Complaint
Three delivery personnel arrived to deliver my order. Upon arrival, they stated that they had spent approximately 20 minutes looking for parking. I understand that parking can be difficult in a busy area; however, this is street parking, and I cannot reserve or control public parking spaces. I do not believe this should have been directed at me or used as a reason to refuse delivery.
When they entered the house, their shoes were visibly dirty. As the furniture was being delivered to the bedrooms and there are carpets upstairs, I politely asked them to remove their shoes. They refused. I then offered a reasonable alternative: I told them they could place all the furniture downstairs while I covered the stairs with sheets, and we could proceed from there. They refused this option as well.
At this point, their behaviour became increasingly confrontational and intimidating. They repeatedly stated that the delivery was only scheduled for a short time slot and that they had already spent too much time at the property. They were also verbally disrespectful and made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe. I was alone in the house at the time.
During the incident, I was speaking on the phone with a Brick customer service representative. She was able to hear the conversation and the interaction with the delivery personnel and can therefore confirm what occurred.
The delivery personnel also told me that because I have complained about them, they would not complete the delivery. I find this response extremely concerning and completely inappropriate.
Given the behaviour I experienced and the fact that I felt unsafe in my own home, I am considering informing the police about the incident. I would also like this matter formally documented and investigated by your management team.
