My mum purchased a home insurance policy through Compare My Insurances for £239, and the documentation they sent contained around 15 different spelling mistakes! Naturally, she was very unhappy with this level of incompetence so called in to customer service and the man was very unprofessional and rude.
So she cancelled the policy within a few days of taking it out, and we were assured that she would receive a full refund. However, despite speaking to them several times, the manager has not returned any of our calls and has completely ignored our attempts to resolve the issue.
To make matters worse, they have now taken an additional payment of £120 from her account after the policy was cancelled.
At this point, we’ve had no choice but to start a chargeback through my mum’s bank to try and recover the money.
The customer service has been extremely poor, the documentation was full of errors, and their lack of communication has been unacceptable. Stay away from this company- you have been warned.

Please read this before you agree to take a policy from this company. When they contacted us regarding our business insurance, there quote was quite competitive but we said that we had decided to go with another company who had quoted similar and gave us the option of paying monthly through direct debit. We were advised that they too provided this service and because they were slightly cheaper we agreed. What we didn’t realise and what wasn’t explained was that they use a finance company (Close Brothers) to effectively pay for the insurance and then the customer has to enter into a financial agreement with this third party, which includes providing ID etc. After agreeing to take the policy we were spamed with emails requesting all sorts of information, that would normally have nothing to do with taking out insurance. Please save yourself a lot of hassle and go elsewhere.

30% of my current price. I've been with the same broker for 6 years, prices only went up every year. 1st test of Harron at comparemyinsurance and I saved 70%. 100% would recommend, especially Harron.

Do not use compare my insurance. I paid a year up front . I changed my van and asked for policy to be changed to new registration which they apparently couldn’t do then they refused to pay any refund. Con merchants keep away from this company.They are based in Swansea Compare house

Either these people are managed appallingly or this company employs inadequate people.

Either way, avoid avoid avoid. Never get back to you. Hugely unprofessional. Quoted a cancellation fee of £50, which then somehow became £150.

AVOID AVOID AVOID . I would have left no stars if I could have. I dealt with a chap called Harron Elsofary who asked for information and then didnt quote. He completely disappeared and didnt even answer my emails. I had taken the time to gather lots of information and I too am busy. Ignorant and terrible service. Would never approach them again

OK company who managed to quote me for insurance renewal. They promised to call me back for the payment but I'm still waiting 2 weeks later..
Poor customer service...

Yes very unhelpful, looks like they just reading from a script.
Need intelligent people that understand business I’m afraid

Went online for a business shop insurance quote, but unlike other companies! they have to telephone you. Then they wanted my home address, full name, DOB, I only wanted a quote to see if they were in the ball park for what I wanted to pay. I said I'm not prepared to give them all that information for a shop quote.
They stated it was a legal requirement. Strange no one else needed that for a quote on my business shop. Too much info!

Very helpful and chatty until you challenge anything they say ( from the mythical "underwriter " of course )
Just another data scraper and one of many on the net right now .
