Founder Bob Gramann has spent more than four decades in design and construction and has earned the nickname “The Land Whisperer.” Where others may see a difficult hillside, challenging lot, rock or boulder as an obstacle, Bob sees an opportunity. Compass works with the land rather than forcing a house onto it, using the property's natural features, views and character as part of the design. Transparency and value are equally important to our process. To us, value means getting the most from every dollar you spend—not simply choosing the cheapest option. Thoughtful planning, early value engineering and clear communication help clients make informed decisions before expensive changes occur in the field.
