I completed the advanced certificate in clinical supervision including online and telephone working. Overall, I would say the course was adequate and I do feel ready to be a supervisor, but I would say a lot of this is down to my experience as a counsellor. A lot of the 180 hours are made-up of recorded video sessions that you must watch before each taught day. I would say they were fairly basic and never really reached the depth I was hoping for them to reach. The taught days themselves were incredibly formulaic and didn't really leave all that much time for deep discussion and challenging conversations. In fact it always seemed that any attempt to take things deeper was veered away from for some reason, I suppose the tutors were running a very tight ship in terms of managing the times of the day, which is understandable, I guess.
My main gripe came right at the very end when we were asked by the admin team to leave a five-star review and if we felt we were unable to do this then we needed to e-mail the admin team. This felt incredibly unethical and dishonest and I sincerely doubt that the counselling tutors high star rating is really an accurate account of their services. I was also quite surprised that the majority of elements around proving our supervision hours were self-certified. Proof of practice hours and our own supervision as well as our qualifications were not needed to be proven to the company. Any unscrupulous therapists, or even charlatan therapists, could easily hold this certification without having done the required practice hours. Whilst I in some ways respect the decision to put trust in people, I find this concerning. The other incredibly bizarre element was that there were people in the training group that I had never spoken to or worked with, even right at the very end of the course. We had an incredibly cringy ending day where we were put into small breakout groups in order to have forced endings with people that we'd never spoken to before. This really felt like it missed the mark to me and mentioning it was pretty much ignored by the tutors. My experience with the counselling tutor very much felt like I was on a conveyor belt, and I can see why it was one of the cheaper courses available. I suppose you get what you pay for.

Just completed the supervisor training with counsellor tutor this was a very well paced excellent training. The facilitators Maria and Nora were well informed and patient with the group. I really enjoyed this training.

Well paced, informative with good feedback sessions. Opportunities to meet with other counsellors and practice. I will miss these Tuesdays!

Nora spoke eloquently, delivering the topic of working with trauma and suitable sharing her wealth knowledge, in taking care to promote our understanding. The information was delivered without minimising the subject, whilst Ed ensured we were all well connected through the smooth running of the IT system, good team working.

Fantastic course. Lead by Nora, she is informative, knowledgeable and explains everything in such an amazing way. The course ran smoothly without any technical difficulties, something I have never experienced with an online course. I don't always desire to be a sponge but this teaching was the exception to the rule. Nora has a unique way of keeping persons captivated. Presentation, tone, insights and expertise were gently shared in a way that was easily digestible, yet igniting a curiosity for more. Both Nora and Ed worked well together, Ed's attention to detail was helpful and appreciated. I would highly recommend this introduction to Trauma-Informed Practice. A worthwhile investment.

This has been an enjoyable and informative course and has helped me further my practice. The expert knowledge; pace in delivery by Nora was great and the time between sessions provided learners an opportunity to review and consolidate content. The course is also well supported by the computing technician Ed.. I definitely recommend.

The interactions with the group was very useful. I enjoyed the independent learning. There was so much content to work through but it was so useful and you could easily start to identify what you align with. I have started to use some of the tools with my clients.

Good value for money - wealth of resources and being able to access the slides when you need to - a true gift.

Wonderful tutors with excellent knowledge of evidence based practice. The course has been carefully considered for an on-line environment and offers a rigorous training.

The Supervision course was very well put together with different learning styles taken into consideration and I felt very supported and happy with the learning and how it has equipped me to move on with my future as a supervisor.
