We have rented a car, given it back without any damages.
Several days after return they have charged out credit card over 700€!!
On contact with them they are only saying, that they won't do anything and sent a bill over 1000€ to even pay more! The rental was not even 24h and the damage was not by us.

I can only confirm all the reviews: stay away from this company. On the reviews they say "contact us" but they won't do anything.

Very disappointing!!

We have rented a car for not even 24h and drove not even 200km. We have given the car back and the agent told everything is fine. The car was in the exact same state as before.
One day later they just charged my credit card 700€ for some damages they apparently have found.

This is inacceptable!!

Keep away from this company and don't rent any cars if you don't want to pay large fees without justification!!

Crc a refusé ma carte pour la caution de 1800 euros .
J’ai bien une carte à débit différé comme indiqué dans leurs conditions .
C’est le débit immédiat qui est refusé mais le débit différé est valable et c’était bien le cas de ma carte .
J’ai bien lu les conditions .
C’est une arnaque .
J’ai payé un supplément inutile alors que ma carte est à débit différé .
Je vais faire appel à ma protection juridique pour ce litige et les poursuivre en justice .

This company is a complete SCAM. We booked through booking.com a car for 114 euros. We landed around 11 pm ( CRC knew our arrival date and time in advance), couldn't find their office (be careful its not in the terminal). When they came to pick us up, we were told that its 11.20 pm, they are closed and we need to pay extra 70 euros. It was mentioned on booking. We checked, and this information was well hidden and wasn't obvious. We were not happy, but decided to proceed. In the shuttle on the way to the office we mentioned to the employee that its pure scam to rob people, and an employee (big guy who refused to give his name) started threatening us and stopped the car to throw us to the street. Eventually we arrived to the office. I refused to talk to the same employee (the guy threatened us for god sake!) and I said to the second employee right away that he doesn't have a happy customer. The second employee (he said his name was Ivo??) promised to find us the solution, but because we didn't have a credit card (in France only 15M people have credit cards out of 68 M population!) our bill became + 70 euros for the late arrival + 420 euros for the full insurance... its far from 114 euros we booked. Ivo couldn't hide his anger, he was literally red and shaking from anger, saying he doesn't need to be here with customers and can go home with his kids (Ivo, just stop working and stay home!) and promised to throw us away from the office as we were not happy. The big guy came once again to threaten us. We preferred not to take a car and left by Uber. I am a big fan of Portugal, but it spoiled our arrival to this great country. Not only CRC is a scam but its a risk for your well being as they guys are physically agressive and dangerous. Please avoid, pay more for the normal booking and go for another trustful brand!

We did a booking for a manual transmission car for about 175€(no extras, only car rent). As we arrived in the late evening with two small kids (0 & 3 years), the employee told us, that they have no manual transmission car left and they have to give us a car with an automatic transmission. He asked If i have a problem with automatic car transmission, which i declined. Okay, no problem Sir, please sign here for the update of the contract. What he didnt say and we only noticed on the sign screen was the price update of 300€ for the time of the car rental. Of course we we're shocked and tried to discuss with the employee that we have a valid reservation and why we have to pay another prize than on the voucher. The employee is getting more and more unfriendly; noticing that we are not willing to accept his scam. It ends up that he told us to accept or decline, and then he didnt want to talk to us anymore.
We had a long journey, the kids we're exhausted and not in the best mood. We then had to go for a walk and search for a new rental car (company) - which we luckily found due to a bunch of rental car companys outside the terminal of LIS Airport. What a start to our holiday - thanks to the new rental car company which was fast, friendly and transparent we had a good time in Portugal.
I can only warn anybody for doimg business with this company. Read the reviews; this is not a unique experience!

Good car at a great initial price – but be very careful...
The car was good and the initial price was great. But when I returned it, a tiny dent – less than a centimeter and with no paint damage – was found on one of the doors. After many emails with customer service, I was charged €474 for the repair. In Lisbon, a repair like this would normally cost between €50 and €100.
I requested a copy of the repair quote or invoice from the workshop, but I never received anything, just a calculation from a web service for auto body shops which included mostly painwork which is not required for this type of dent. Probably because they won’t actually repair the dent – it’s barely visible and doesn’t affect the car’s resale value in any way.

But here is the real scam. When I picked up the car, there was already a significantly larger damage on the same door, which wasn’t listed in their damage report. I photographed it, and when reviewing the photos later, the tiny dent I was charged for can also be seen. This photo was taken before I even entered the car, so clearly, the dent was already there when I picked it up – and I did not cause it.

I showed the photos to CRC, but they said the images weren’t sufficient proof and that I had signed the agreement based on their documented damages, which didn’t include the dent. So apparently, not even photo evidence is enough.

A normal rental company wouldn’t even bother noting such a small dent – especially when there’s no paint damage – as it’s so minor it likely won’t ever be repaired. CRC just wants to squeeze extra money from customers to keep their advertised prices low.

Rent from CRC at your own risk. Either inspect the car far more thoroughly than you would at a normal company, or prepare to pay hundreds of euros for pre-existing minor damages.

Shameful and dishonest behavior from an established rental company

Très mécontent, offre de location tres correcte et au moment de récupérer le véhicule on refuse de prendre la caution sur ma carte de débit car il leur faut une carte de crédit ?!,!?! Pour une caution de 2800€

Un mois avant j'ai loué chez un autre loueur je n'ai pas eu de problème pour la même caution sur ma carte de débit !!!!
L'employé n a meme pas essayé de prendre la caution sur ma carte, j'ai ete obligé de prendre une assurance 114€ pour 3 jours !!!! Alors que je louais un véhicule pour la journée, 38€ !!!!
Merci plus jamais wheego ou car rental ou je ne sais quel nom ils en changent peut être souvent
