My journey with CrissyBee began 3 years ago. (May 2023)

Before I met Christine I was rock bottom. I had the most beautiful locs that I was so proud of. I had a full head of beautiful locs and I loved the comments that I was receiving.

After a few years, I noticed that my hair was thinning. Sometimes my locs would visibly fall out but the majority of the time I didn’t know what was happening. I would still go to the Loctricians in the hope that they could stop any further locs from falling but my hair continued to thin and my locs were falling out.

I was spending hundreds of pounds going to hair specialists. They would wash and treat my scalp and locs and I would pay a lot of money for a small jar of scalp ointment, hoping and praying for a miracle!

Eventually I had a biopsy done on my scalp. The results confirmed that my follicles had closed with tissue scarring . My entire world came crashing down on me.

As the years went by I became more depressed. I had lost motivation and confidence. I was so ashamed of how I looked. I kept wrapping the remaining locs in scarves. I stopped going out unless I was going to work. When the doorbell rang I rushed to get a scarf to tie my head. Eventually the scarves started to slide off my head as there wasn’t enough locs to keep the scarf in place.

One day my cousin told my about CrissyBee. She said I had nothing to lose.

I contacted Christine and that is where my journey with CrissyBee began.

When I first met Christine she showed me so much compassion and understanding. I would definitely be a challenge for her as I had approximately 30 locs remaining and they were not in a good way. Christine requested a photo of myself when my locks were healthy and long so that she had a template to construct my locs.

Following two consultations, Christine got to work constructing my TOLR.

When I saw my TOLR for the first time it was love at first sight. When Christine put the TOLR on my head I genuinely smiled for the first time. I looked in the mirror and saw the old me. Christine designed my TOLR so it looked like the photo I gave her when I had locs My confidence was restored and I felt like I could face the world again 🥲

I often travel to various countries on holiday where the climate can sometimes reach 40 degrees. My TOLR remains cool on my head so that I never have to worry about sweating etc…

Christine continues to maintain my remaining to keep them need and tidy so that they continue to grow with my on locs.

Once every two months I go to CrissyBee to have my TOLR removed which is washed and conditioned. Whilst that is happening I attend Joy hairdressers, which is a hairdresser nominated by CrissyBee.

Joy and her team always make every effort to avoid any embarrassment to you by washing your hair discreetly away from other customers.

Well about two years ago I started to notice some minor thinning. I didn’t put too much thought into it because I had gone though a very challenging divorce to a
Pastor. I figured once I got through that ordeal my hair situation would turn around. It did not as a matter of fact it progressed. I prayed about it, asked my family to pray with me but nothing changed for the better. In the latter part of 2024 I was diagnosed with type II diabetes and high blood pressure. I was placed on medications which I did not know could severely affect hair loss . Then the shame, low self esteem, humiliation started because I could not cover the problem. ( I perspire in my head badly so I did not want
To wear wigs). I kept praying and started to avoid family functions, family pics and I started to stay home
more because of the hair loss and thinning. It effected my quality of life tremendously. Early 2025 I started researching hair loss in Melonated women. I started to mix oils and spices and put them on my hair. Nothing helped!!! I cried ALOT but I kept meditating and praying. One day on instagram I heard a melonated, female doctor talking about hair restoration and this hair growth shampoo. By then I had tried EVERYTHING and I was too discouraged and too broken and broke lol to try the shampoo lol. I was sinking deeper into depression and despair. I finally stopped going to church (during this time I also had a serious attack of sciatica for 8 months) I was in bed 21 hours a day couldn’t sleep, couldn’t hardly walk, in major, chronic, pain, no meds worked. Finally went to physical therapy and that worked).
Well, the hair loss continued until this year when my daughter saw your advertisement
and she sent it to me. That is when I called and started the process I was so excited until I found out you are in the UK lol. I am 66’on a fixed income but I tried to have faith that
I could get there. I said, Dell why are you fooling yourself? You are just getting by living here lol how will you get to the UK? I heard another Melonated female doctor talking about Trichology so I researched that. Found the meaning of it and asked Chat GPT if there was a Trichologist in Greenville, SC? YEEEEESSSSS!!! I called and texted over the next two days to get a consultation. Finally got her. I went for the consultation on April 3rd at 6:30 am (ready and desperate lol). Her recommendations was to get rid of the locs 😔. My heart sank however, I already knew that was needed, I just dreaded it lol. I said, ok let’s do it and it was the best decision I could have made. I was afraid of the change because it was absolute, bold and scary. She reassured me that everything would be ok and get
better with treatments. We started treatments THAT DAY LOLand I am overjoyed. I have my smile back, my confidence and my countenances reflects it.
Meeting you gave me hope of at least covering the problem but that was not the answer because I could not get to you. Your advertisement and skills were amazing and once I lost hope for that It caused me to look deeper for answers, which I found. Without your advertisement showing what you had done for another lady, I would have slumped deeper into despair. YOU GAVE ME HOPE!! Thank you!! I am forever grateful!!!

Going with apprehension and scepticism. Will she be able to do anything? Will this actually work?
Well just had my final fitting and I am so excited. I just could not envisage what it would look like.
She is very patient and understanding and no matter what questions I ask she is gracious in her answers.

Having to style my thinning locs was a daily disappointing ritual - until Crissy worked her magic!

What a great experience. I came out of my install appointment feeling so full of confidence. I was sceptical at first but once meeting Christine, she made me feel relaxed and explained the process thoroughly. Honestly, you would never know I was wearing TOLR. Today was my final fitting of my ToLR at ChrissyBee. With Christine I had a seamless journey from our first conversation to consultation to installation. This beautiful soft spoken lady is professional, knowledgeable, efficient and very experienced in what she does.

Christine made me feel comfortable revealing the problems I experienced with traction alopecia and balding - in fact it took me over a year to make contact with her because I was not confident in showing my hair. I really had nothing to worry about.

What Christine did for me I know was done with genuine kindness and love because she has a unique God given talent. I am extremely grateful and happy that I have met her. Thank you Christine for your sincere sharing and teaching during our communication. I have to say it's not usual that she can really teach you knowledge and even with a friendly sharing tone! That just makes the whole thing like chatting with friends and you are getting the ideas more easily and happily. She never holds back the important but very detailed nuances in locs and wow I benefit A LOT.

My recent final TOLR fitting at CrissyBee (christine) was indeed transformative.

I've spend years watching my edges disappear due to traction alopecia/ female pattern baldness. So, finding a professional who could reproduce a look similar to my original one was a revelation. It was even better that she was located a reasonable distance from my home.

I cannot sing Crissy's praises highly enough. She demonstrates an abundance of qualities that one would want for this bespoke type of work, such as patience, kindness, imagination and creativity.
