I telephoned the Telegraph on 31/03/26 to cancel my digital subscription renewal. The renewal price quoted was £269. When I said I was cancelling this was dropped to £99 and I agreed to renew at that price. When I checked my bank account the Telegraph had taken payments on 01/04/26 of £99 and £368 respectively. I telephoned on 04/04/26 and after a long wait while the call handler went to talk to his supervisor I was assured the refund of £368 would be made. I also received two confirmation emails to that effect. Today (07/04/26) I checked my bank account and discovered that the Telegraph had refunded £368 and then immediately retaken £99 + £269. Another telephone call to the Telegraph where I was treated dismissively and the entire episode was treated as a blip. I eventually got to speak to a manager who has agreed to cancel my subscriptions and refund all payments made since 31/03/26. My concern is whether my experience is a “one off” (which seems unlikely) or whether the Telegraph digital renewal service is set up in such a way that they take the the new subscription amount plus the renewal amount + the new subscription amount in all cases?

I phoned today to enquire about my subscription and the call was answered by Mr Murtaza.
Mr Murtaza is the epitome of excellent customer service.

Have been banned on commenting in perpetuity, appeal denied, using no swear words, hate speech or defamatory words, just opinions against left, wokism and the religion of peace. This has been weoponised by those groups who repeatedly complain, report and suspend lawful protest comments. The resulting suspension and banning of the rights members to their free speech is chilling. I am cancelling my subscription.

A good app, easy to read, well worth the subscription.

DogshIt site. Ripped me off for more money for an account i already had in place. Taking to the FSA so i will win on the end. Avoid their subscriptions like the plague.

I stopped my subscription. They keep sending notifications of articles that I may be interested in. When I click on it, the subscription page comes up, when I dismiss it and hopefully go back to the article THEY notified me about, it has disappeared and different articles appear. Very frustrating and not the way to go about getting subscribers back !

Too many DT Journalists suffer from TDS & antiMusk tendencies, why pay DT to be insulted?

Cancelling also a massive pain :-(

You may aswell be reading the Sun or Star. Seems like all the racist and bigoted journalists have been carefully gathered to push the hypocritical agenda.

Avoid taking a subscription because they will continue to take your money even when you’ve cancelled it. Want a refund? It’s like getting blood out of a stone.

Avoid!!! Would give a zero star if I could.

THEY MAKE IT REALLY HARD TO CANCEL..!! DONT TAKE OUT A CGHEAP OFFER OF SUBSCRIPTION..AS THE RENEWAL IS ABOUT 10 TIMES THE SPECIAL OFFER IE. ABOUT 250 QUID A YEAR AFTRE THE OFFER OF 25 QUID FOR FIRST YEAR. THEY ARE TRYING TO SCAM YOU ! DISGUSTING !!

Re the poor women of Fulham article
Could not be bothered to read or pay for full article on the poor women of Fulham who are being told correctly, they can’t be dropped off outside their homes in ( as you call it LTN) because the drivers will be fined .
It’s not a headline that’s fair / straightforward or logical .
1/ Everyone of the people moaning live in the roads ( several ) that are in Hammersmith & Fulham that the general public cannot drive down as they are non residents of F&H
2/ This has been on agenda at H&F for some 3 plus years and those residents ( poor little things new it )
3/ DVLA provided H&F with all residents car reg info to them ( weird don’t ya think ) in order that no H&F resident can be prosecuted in the said LTN as you call it in your headline ,as opposed to the clean air rubbish it’s claiming to be .
4/ ask all residents of this area in total what vehicles they are driving ? Or DVLA as Hammersmith and Fulham can , and see what clean air vehicles they drive .
5/ why do the other London Boroughs not respond to H&F by telling them that their vehicles ( of these ten plus side roads ) cannot drive down their boroughs side roads ?
6/ whilst rubbish reasons for clean air area ,what about the poor residents of Wandsworth bridge road , who now have more traffic past them because of H&F decision to double/ treble their pollution levels ?.
7/ H&F at the top of the main road have had the biggest earning yellow box fined location for the last several years due to traffic/ traffic light not people’s bad driving but the odds against you getting through unscathed ( check the billing )
So to all the residents who have to walk at maximum side road 300 yards but realistically 150 yards - get over your selves and show us your complaints against the zone introduced that you have all known about for years , oh and apologise for the roads you drive through in your Cab on the way to your clean air zone - you can’t make this muck up
Finally , why will their car tax ,like for like with identical car, be the same , when identical car can’t drive down their road ?
You really need to be asking how DVLA can be giving this info across in isolation
Its wrong on all levels other than the sensible Uber drivers

This desperate rag is currently offering a cut-price subscription offer for its app in an attempt to build up readership numbers ahead of an attempt to flog the title to the Arabs to newswash their medieval cultural and social values.
But it's a poor copy of its already dire output based heavily on agency copy with virtually no original news reporting.
The days of the Telegraph's MPs Expenses Scandal zenith are long gone as the Barclay Brothers gutted the paper of expensive talent and replaced it with cheap lifestyle features.
Even worse any criticism of the paper in the comments section - either about the proposed sale to the desert sheikhs or the dire efforts of its journalists - is removed immediately with threats of a ban.
This makes a mockery of its claim that the newspaper will maintain editorial independence after the proposed takeover.
Any newspaper that can't take criticism is only worth using as emergency toilet paper.
Save your money.
If you want woke journalism for free read the Guardian instead.

The newspaper app is fairly good but the support is non existent. And never has been.

How can they fix pages which are not loading, like the daily TV page which frequently doesn’t load at all, in a few days time or even not bothering to acknowledge my request for support till a few days later.

And because I emailed them with an alternative email address, they wouldn’t even look in to the problem. This is when it had nothing to do with my account, and my wife had the same problems on a completely different tablet.

To say, Im getting fed up with the support is an understatement.

They should fix their app and accept that anybody should be able to report problems which they could easily investigate. And it’s no good fixing a TV page which doesn’t load a few days later..it’s so bad believe me.

I will not be renewing my subscription until something is done about their customer service and IT Depts.

Never again.

And yet again the TV page is incorrect - showing some Police program on at 9pm on BBC2 yet all the other TV Papers show it as Simon Reeve in Cornwall tonight…so so bad.

After cancelling my subscription, I found £12.99 being taken from my account.

MY YEARLY SUBSCRIPTION LOG IN HAS GONE FOR 7DAYS I WANT MY PUZZLES BACK

I took out a digital free trial subscription which ended up as a £12.99 per month paid subscription. This took about 30 seconds to set up. However, I no longer wish to have a subscription and I have just spent 30 minutes trying to find a way to cancel it. The Telegraph provides no option to cancel online but instead, they insist that you have to PHONE them. Could it be that they've built in a level of complexity so that they can profit from it or is it that, as an organ of the Tory Party, they haven't yet moved into the digital era?

CANNOT CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION! Absolutely no way to cancel subscription through all platforms! This has to be illegal and I will now be calling the Police and also reporting them to FCA and other trade bodies! Disgusting behaviour! AVOID AVOID AVOID

Following my earlier review, and actually speaking to a real person, Clive Morgan, The Telegraph accelerated through a few gears, and emailed me yesterday, promising to get my cancellation/ Refund sorted out. Well done Clive, who called me today to check on progress, and Tyler, who emailed me and tried to call me yesterday, for sorting this out.
5 stars for their help, but downgraded to 4 stars as All Service suppliers need to STOP the disastrous policy of Working From Home and Get Employees out of their PJ's.

Will I get any response. I doubt it but here goes. Honest John column has vanished. No explanation,nothing. There is now anew consumer column,dealing with cars,motoring etc. Joial looking cove running it. he has given me an address to write to,but asking for my Consumer Number.???

Yet aother vile, hate filled report from Chris Moss telegraph 'destination expert' ha ha. I do agree with some of the views on Cornwall being over rated but there's a point where journalism crosses from the informative into hate filled bitter rantings of someone with seemingly nothing good to say. Shame when so called journalism is so poor it has to spread bitterness and ridicule to get column inches. Perhaps he could spend his time telling us where to go and informing rather than these continuous angry rantings in what I feel is now a gutter hate filled paper. How this paper has fallen. I used to subscribe to it, now I wouldnt wipe my dogs bum with it. Ps I don't live in Cornwall but East Anglia.
