Our Discovery Voyages experience from August 14th to 17th was absolutely exceptional. From start to finish, the crew delivered a level of hospitality, expertise, and genuine care that made the trip unforgettable.

Captain Dean set the tone with his calm leadership and deep knowledge of the region, making every moment feel seamless and well‑coordinated. Megah brought incredible warmth and energy, and her outstanding meals were exceptional. Katie was outstanding—professional, attentive, and full of great insights that enriched the experience. And Baird added a fun, engaging presence while also being incredibly helpful throughout the voyage.

Every member of the team contributed something special, and together they created a trip that exceeded expectations in every way. Highly recommend Discovery Voyages for anyone looking for a truly memorable adventure.

I know the phrase "trip of a lifetime" is used often, but in this case, it truly applies! I had the great fortune to travel with five of my family members on a four-day cruise from August 14-17, 2026. I really can't adequately describe what an amazing and unforgettable experience this trip was. From the moment we stepped on board, I was blown away by how attentive, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic the crew was. Truly four of the nicest people I have ever met. Captain Dean had so many great stories, and it is clear he is very passionate about all the wonders of Prince William Sound. He always made me feel welcome when I would hang out in the pilot house, and would patiently answer all my questions. Meg is an incredible partner to Dean, and the meals she prepared for us were some of the best I've ever had. I can't get over how she consistently produced delicious, hot meals in a very tiny galley. The tortellini soup is a particular standout. I'm still dreaming about it! Katie and Baird were the perfect guides for our hikes and kayaking adventures. They have so much knowledge about the plants, animals, and geography of Prince William Sound, and learning about the things we saw made the trip all the more meaningful, and gave me a greater appreciation for the beautiful state of Alaska. The boat itself was lovely and cozy, and the accommodations were very comfortable. The size of the boat allowed us to get up close to glaciers, bears, sea lions, otters, waterfalls, and many other sights that you could never manage on a large cruise ship. We were provided with all the waterproof outerwear we needed, which made packing for the trip very easy. We are hoping to take another cruise with Discovery Voyages in a few years. I highly recommend this company to anyone thinking of it. You will not be disappointed!

Our adventure on Discovery Voyages was amazing for many reasons, our 2 captains Dean and Meg along with our 2 guides, Katie and Baird were full of interesting information about the area, were kind and patient with our questions, helpful and FUN! The food was delicious, my husband bought Meg's cookbook, the meals were so yummy. The areas Dean took us to were all determined by what would give us the best experience while always keeping an eye on the weather to keep us comfortable and safe. Our rooms were clean, plenty of room to store our things with comfy bedding. Sharing the bathrooms were no issue at all, as guidelines were given to help us be considerate of others.
The kayaking, hiking, scenery and animal life we viewed gives this experience an A+++!

We had a wonderful adventure cruise with Discovery Voyages! The boat was well equipped with kayaks, rubber boots, waterproof gear, and more to accommodate all 12 passengers of various sizes. Captain Rand used his extensive knowledge and decades of experience on the Sound to select the most enriching adventures with kayaking, hiking, marveling at the majesty of glaciers, and viewing wildlife. Meg’s cooking magic translated into delicious gourmet meals, and she shares her recipes!
Our guides, Katie and Baird, did everything possible to ensure our comfort and help us experience our adventures. I was impressed with them both. I would go again in a heartbeat!

Our Discovery Voyage was a once in a lifetime experience! The unbelievable scenery would have rated five stars on its own, but couple that with the wildlife viewing, hiking, kayaking and some of the best seafood we have ever tasked and that was our incredible adventure. Meg kept us fed. while Dean, Katie, and Baird kept their eyes pealed and educated us on the beauty and science of the Prince William Sound. If you love nature, a Discovery Voyage is a must!

Staff who enjoy their job, flexible itenerary that adjusts to changing tides and weather, knowledgeable boat captain, delicious food all comine into a memorable trip

Dean, Megan, Katie & Baird all did a FABULOUS job on our voyage. My wife and I are returnees and the voyage (and the Sound!) did not disappoint this time around. The crews’ overall knowledge of the Sound added significantly to our enjoyment and safety. Highly recommended!

This was our second voyage, and it fully lived up to its predecessor. Reservations, transportation, travel, hiking, kayaking and meals were all on pointe! We hope to make it a trifecta and go in our if the more adventurous cruises next time.

We spent three remarkable days with Captain Dean, Megan, Katie and Julia. We felt at home immediately boarding the boat. Captain Dean is very knowledgeable about Prince William Sound, Megan is an an amazing chef and Julia and Katie was extremely helpful with everything. Gourmet meals, calving glaciers, sea lions, sea otters, puffins, bears, salmon and more. No better way to spend three amazing days in Alaska.

The captains, the crew, the environment, the food, really just everything. It was perfect!

The entire experience was magical. The knowledge that Dean has for the Prince William Sound shines through each and every day. Megan’s meals are incredible and represent what is native to this region. Their staff are super knowledgeable, also, helpful and gracious in guiding us thru each adventure with smiles and laughter.

Captain Dean and his wife, Meg and the whole crew were so knowledgeable about all facets of the Prince William Sound. An exceptional Captain who knows the area, the animals and how the whole eco systems work together. Very conscious about the environment and how things affect the PW Sound! Everyone on board was very helpful And knowledgeable about the area. Meg served each meal with Love. Very conscious about food allergies and a well balanced meal. And all the food was from the Sound or Alaska! All meals were 5 Star meals!!
I learned so much about Alaska, the Sound and how the state works together to keep the water and animals clean and safe!
We loved the boat, especially the history behind it! God has his hand on everything!! We came as tourists and left as family? This is the best small boat cruise ever!!

This was a wonderful experience with stunning landscapes and fun kayaking and hiking activities. I was blown away by the size of the glaciers! We saw bears, otters, sea lions, orcas, porpoises, puffins. All the crew were friendly and really knowledgeable so we learnt a lot about the history, geology, flora and fauna of the Sound. And the food was delicious!

Excellent looking after! Dean’s captaincy exceptional with amazing knowledge. Megan’s catering outstanding in the middle of the ocean. Gentle but very kind and knowledgeable guidance from Hugh. All round, a trip of ones’ lifetime.

WOW! This trip exceeded our expectations by miles. The scenery, the wildlife, the experiences, the food, and the crew were world-class. From the moment we stepped into the transport van to Whittier to the moment we were dropped off at our hotel, no detail was missed. We cruised in close to waterfalls; a salmon hatchery thick with bears, eagles, sea lions, and salmon; calving glaciers and nesting birds! We hiked on the beach, a bear trail, and a bog meadow in the rainforest, saw wildflowers and eagles, kayaked to secluded inlets with abundant plant and sea life, and ate amazing food. Discovery Voyages made everything easy and very special. My only regret is that we didn't book a longer trip!

We’ve been aboard Discovery three times now. Each trip is unique and filled with new wonders and beauty. Dean and Meg along with the two knowledgeable “crew” make us feel like family.
