I had a great experience learning with drive automatic, I had already learnt to drive manual and decided it wasn’t for me, I was recommended drive automatic by my previous instructor.

Couldn’t have turned out better, very professional and productive lessons Mike is a brilliant teacher. Highly recommend! Passed at Durham test centre with only 3 minors.

I passed with Antony who did a brilliant job in teaching me to drive as I passed with 0 minors and 0 nerves just confidence because of the knowledge Anthony had passed onto me 100% recommend

What can I say more than LEDGENDS very professional and supportive.made me feel comfortable especially when making mistakes.Anthony and Micheal got me to pass first time with 3 faults which I think just shows the dedication to learners.

Carl is a brilliant driving instructor, he's patient and explains things well. He did well to adapt to my learning needs. He was also very flexible and worked around my very busy life, even going above and beyond to work later than he usually would. Honestly, I couldn't recommend him enough.

Anthony has been a total pleasure to learn with on my journey to becoming a fully qualified driver. He has a great sense of humor, knows exactly what he's talking about and it's always been a joy to jump into the car with him and progress a little bit further each time. I did my test at Darlington, even though I'm based in Shildon and we tackled some tough spots around Morton Park, the A66 and the Sainsburys roundabout, all of which are notorious for catching learners out. Really couldn't recommend Anthony enough. Thanks so much, man!

I can’t recommend Drive Automatic highly enough, especially my instructor Anthony. From the very beginning, he made me feel completely at ease behind the wheel, which made such a difference to my confidence.

Anthony is incredibly patient and encouraging, always taking the time to explain things clearly and never making me feel rushed or pressured. What really stood out to me is how unbothered he was by my quirks and nervous moments he just took everything in stride and kept things calm and positive.

He’s also very down to earth, which made lessons feel relaxed and comfortable rather than stressful. Thanks to his supportive approach, I was able to build my skills and confidence at my own pace.

If you’re looking for a driving school that genuinely cares and an instructor who creates a great learning environment, I highly recommend Drive Automatic and Anthony.

Whole process was straight forward and aided by the app as it reduced the stresses surrounding booking lessons, payments and communicating with the instructor- Anthony. Being aware of the progress straight after lesson have been delivered was a useful visual representation of areas for improvement, while enabling me to reinforce my knowledge through the week. Anthony was always punctual and through the lessons he create a relaxed environment which enabled me to progress at a quicker rate. I would highly recommend drivingautomatic driving school as I am unable to identify any faults in the service provided and for me it was excellent. Thank you Anthony for getting me through this.

Too much to say about my instructor Anthony and it’s all grand!
He’s exactly what you need in an instructor-someone ‘with a personality.’ He is unapologetically himself (rare in a world of Botox and waxy gym men who look like a triangle) and not remotely ‘formal.’
He’s a riot-funny relatable, non judgemental, easy going (but on the ball when you’re not).Some lessons I laughed so hard it was like a night out at The Comedy Cafe.He knows when your anxious and fuels your confidence-he never knocks it.

I began with an intensive course but quickly recognised (as did he) I needed to sloooooow it all down-I couldn’t process it all.That and my intense ‘drive’ to learn quickly (Durhams bus service runs likes its 1826) so I could take my scrumptious son on adventures was overwhelming.We reduced the lessons down to make it manageable and after consistent thrice then twice weekly lessons I surprised myself by passing first time!
If…you are contemplating Drive Automatic…stop.. just book your lessons with him, theres nowt to contemplate! He's a top bloke a top instructor, and a proper ‘real’ human being.

I’m so grateful I found him, so is my son who loves our new car! FREEDOM!

Never did I think I'd ever learn to drive, let alone in under 30 hours and pass first time! Anthony, I couldn't have done it without your patience, encouragement and excellent teaching skills! Thank you for everything! I'll never forget what you've done for me and I'm going to miss my weekly 2 hour counselling and comedy session! 😂 If I could give you and Drive Automatic more than 5 stars, I'd give you the effing lot!!

Great instructor, would recommend

I have Autism and found the idea of learning to drive very daunting. I started learning with Anthony from DriveAutomatic at the end of October 2024. From the very first lesson Anthony made things easy to understand and taught at a pace I was comfortable with. Not once did he raise his voice or get annoyed when I made silly little mistakes, if anything he was very down to earth instructor (something other instructors could take note of). I can't thank Anthony enough for giving me the skills and knowledge needed to help me pass my driving test and be safe on the road. I passed my test in February 2025 taking just over 3 months from start to finish and never thought I'd do it the first time but Anthony was adamant I would and he was proved right. Thanks again Anthony and DriveAutomatic for helping me achieve this.

Anthony taught me to drive back in 2021. I never thought I'd ever drive. Im an anxious person so I've put learning to drive off so many times.
Anthony put me at ease straight away. He was so laid back and easy to get along with which helped massively. I passed in just 18 hours!
Driveautomatic has changed mine and my childrens life.
