Absolutely outstanding. I originally started with a different company who I broke ties with due to various factors. Since starting with this company it's been amazing I was so supported, they kept communicating regularly and thanks to them I passed my cat c today. I can't say it enough this company is amazing and I can't wait to come back to do the artic class with them in the future

Faultless process so far

I would like to sincerely thank Elliott, Mike, and the entire team at Drive HGV. From start to finish, they have been absolutely fantastic. They consistently checked in to ensure everything was running smoothly and were always available to offer support and guidance.

Whenever any hurdles arose, they handled them quickly and efficiently, making the whole process completely stress-free. I truly can’t thank them enough for their dedication and professionalism.

I’ve recently been working with Drive HGV to gain my license and start my new career. I reached out to the bookings team about 5 months ago and they explained the whole process from start to finish and I can’t fault any part of it. Booking was simple and they provided a theory software for me to use which I could use on my phone or my laptop (I prefer it on my phone but the computer version feels like the actual test).

Once the theory side was complete the team text me and arranged for a call to set up my training hours. For ease they offered that I could use a more local training centre that they work with - this was great as I didn’t have to travel as far.

The trainer was kind and helpful and went above and beyond. I had booked for 20 hours but asked if I needed could I bolt on more which was perfectly fine with them (I didn’t need more) I think I actually had a little more than the 20 hours ( but the Drive Team did say they normally stick to the 20 hours - maybe I was nice Lol).

Once passed the drive team again texted and emailed me a congratulations and then they checked over my CV which, I thought was good but, they completely reformed it and I now don’t know how I ever got a job before, it’s so much better so thank you to Simon for that!

They provided a number of great opportunities for me to apply for and it’s quite clear how dedicated the team are and I could message anytime and they would get back to me pretty fast with an answer.

Review for Drive HGV

I recently completed my Class 1 (CE) licence training with Drive HGV and passed my test on 13th February. While I’m pleased to have passed, I feel disappointed with several aspects of the service, particularly where expectations did not match reality.

One of the main reasons I chose Drive HGV was because they advertised support with employment after passing. Shortly after I passed, I was told to email a member of their team who would assist me with getting into work. However, as of today (5th April), I have still not received any response. From my experience, the promise of helping with employment is misleading and has not been fulfilled.

I would strongly advise others to be cautious if job support is a key reason for choosing this company. If you are mainly going to Drive HGV not just for the licence, but for help getting a job afterwards, be aware that this support may not materialise.

Another issue is the driving hours. I paid for 20 hours of training, but it did not feel like I received the full 20 hours of actual driving time. For example, when it came to reversing practice, this had to be shared with other trainees, which further reduced the amount of individual driving time.

Additionally, after passing, there is mention that if you leave a good review, you may receive your money back. Personally, I do not believe this is genuine and it feels more like a tactic to encourage positive reviews rather than a realistic offer.

Overall, while I did achieve my licence, I believe there needs to be far more transparency and honesty, particularly regarding job support and the actual training hours provided.

I have discussed my plans of getting the practical test from them. The guy on phone was Michael and he was an absolute professional guy. Helped mean everything that me every single bit and he have offered me a really good price as well. I'm super happy I have my CPC too to be completed. As soon as I will complete it I'm definitely going to choose DRIVE HGV.

Since I first got in contact with Drive HGV I felt my journey was in safe hands. They made everything clear, and helped me through each stage. They always wished me the best on test days. They were always reachable for any questions I had, and replied quickly.
I would recommend Drive HGV to anyone wanting to start or continue their journeys.

It all started with just being curious about pricing at first, so I filled in the necessary info and saw the screen that normally fills me with a bit of dread, “One of our team will be in touch shortly”. Usually this is an instant no from me as most of the time you’re met with a pushy, sales type person the other end. A couple of days passed and I got a call from a number I didn’t recognise but answered it just in case. It was DriveHGV. I quickly braced myself for a battle and lots of me saying “not now” and “no thank you’s”. I could honestly not have been more wrong. Mike, the gentleman from DriveHGV was absolutely fantastic with zero pushiness, complete respect for my choices and no sales tactics or guilting you into signing up. We had a great laugh on the phone and he was so incredibly helpful and detailed every aspect of the course/training without hesitation. I felt I was offered complete transparency, so that coupled with the zero pressure and flexibility the company offered, led me to sign up. Excellent first impressions!

After reaching out to this company, I was contacted by Mike, who listened to my reasons for wanting my HGV licence and gave me plenty of advice and guidance. Within minutes of signing up to the company I had my medical appointment made and the revision documents for my theory test.

My journey to getting my Class C HGV licence started on 11 August 2025. I’d been thinking about doing it for years… and, like many great plans, kept putting it off. With work becoming a bit sketchy, I finally decided to stop procrastinating and just go for it.

After some online searching, I came across DriveHGV. I filled in a few details and shortly after received a call from Josh. What followed was a very light-hearted conversation — to the point it felt like I was chatting to an old school friend I’d known for years. That first impression instantly put me at ease. No hard sell, no pressure, just genuine advice and support. A refreshing change, to say the least.

Once signed up, everything was very well organised. I received login details for all the relevant apps covering theory test prep — DVSA questions, hazard perception, case studies, the lot. Everything you need, neatly laid out, and no guesswork involved.

I’ll be honest — I’m not at my best when it comes to sitting in front of a screen doing tests. Whenever I had questions (and there were a few), I contacted Josh, who was always happy to help and point me in the right direction. If Josh wasn’t available, Elliot or Vangie stepped in — it genuinely feels like a proper team effort at DriveHGV.

From the initial enquiry through to booking theory and practical tests, everything was handled smoothly. You’re never left wondering what happens next, which makes a big difference when you’re doing something new (and slightly nerve-wracking).

During my training, there were four of us who regularly crossed paths between lessons and tests, which helped create a relaxed, supportive atmosphere — especially on Module 3a test day.

I’d also like to give a special thank you to my instructor Julie (apologies if I’ve got the name slightly wrong!). She was calm, understanding, and reassuring throughout — exactly what you need when learning something as serious as driving an HGV. Thanks to her support, I passed on 16 January 2025.

So, a huge thank you to everyone at DriveHGV, and especially Julie, for helping me finally stop putting things off and get my licence. If you’re considering HGV training but keep saying “I’ll do it later” — take this as your sign. Do it now.

Paying and booking my test through Drive HGV was very simple and i was communicated with the entire way through about what i would need to do and when, i was given helpful tools to pass my theory tests and was given a very helpful instructor to be able to pass my HGV test first time.

From the day I applied to the day I passed, both Elliot and Josh were there for me the whole way. I can’t thank the team enough for all the support and the revisions tools they supplied for my class c licence. Nothing but good praises for the team at Drive HGV. Will definitely be using them again for my class C+E. Highly recommend for anyone who is wanting to obtain their license!

Brilliant experience! Drive HGV guided me through the whole process from beginning to the end with frequent emails and WhatsApp reminders checking how I was and if I had any questions. They offered very flexible training days so that I did not have to take annual leave days for the weekly course. This made me choose this particular company as they seem to be the only one being flexible. Again, a wonderful journey, I can highly recommend them :)
