My mother went into assisted living there over three years ago. She has dementia, and can be difficult to deal with on a daily basis. The staff there is very attentive and they provide her with daily activities, and a safe environment to live in. She chose to go to Edenton when she was doing better. Today she struggles with that choice, but the family feels she is in the best environment we can provide for her.

I moved into Edenton's Independent Living a couple of years ago. This community is unique with lots of fun activities and a wonderful and helpful staff to run it's operations. Some of the activities I really enjoy include yoga, poetry group, discussion groups about pertinent topics like how to help your brain stay healthy as you age. The activities here give us a chance to socialize, improve or maintain good health and allow us to pass the time in a positive way allowing us to discover or rediscover our gifts and hobbies. For example, I attend a poetry group which has inspired me, at the age of 77, to publish a book of my poetry writing.
I am living a joy filled life in a comfortable and safe community. I love my cozy cottage and plan on spending many years here. If you are seeking a senior living community why don't you come by and take a look at our wonderful neighborhood. Who knows what gifts you may discover or rediscover!

My wife has been a Resident at Edenton Frederick Retirement Community for over two years. I moved there because she more care than I can provide at home. Even though it was a very difficult decision, it was the right mover for both of us. I am pleased to have chosen Edenton. The facilities are attractive and well maintained both inside and outside. The staff are friendly, caring, respectful, and loving. They treat my wife and other residents with dignity. Staff, at all levels, including security and maintenance, treat Residents as guests. Staff members decorate and celebrate birthdays, holidays, and special occasions with the Residents. The central dining facility is always decorated with beautiful season décor, even table arrangements. The atmosphere is bright and inviting and Residents are treated like guests. The chef, the servers and the kitchen staff are always friendly, positive, and upbeat when greeting Residents, including myself when we dine there. Residents have a choice of meals that are attractive and nutritious and a setting where one may think of having fine dining. A huge Family Picnic is held annually at Edenton which includes delicious food, games for the kids, and family members are always welcomed and encouraged to attend the event and all activities/events at Edenton. Each weekday is filled with enriching activities for all Residents. Staff Activity Coordinators do a great job encouraging and engaging residents to participate in a warm and welcoming environment. A wide variety of activities are offered. Staff at all levels, including administration know each Resident by name and speak with them with love and dignity. Residents are treated as the most important people on campus by staff at all levels, including management and the owner. Edenton truly has a home feeling atmosphere which helps make it a good “home away from home” for all Residents. This is more than just a place to live. I have peace of mind knowing my wife is in good care. The staff! The activities! The residents! Our mom moved to Edenton last year where she was welcomed & embraced by everyone and knew immediately that she made the right decision to join the Edenton family. Today, she is still happy & safe and tells me - every time we talk - how nice, caring, wonderful everyone and everything is. The transition was easy, the staff accommodating & caring, the residents friendly, and the grounds are beautiful & peaceful. It's obvious that our mom is cared for and cared about.

I have been employed at Edenton for many years. The administration is very honest and reliable and I recommend anyone to bring their family members here! I appreciate all my coworkers and the hard work they do. Our residents are our family and we love all of them!

Four years ago (during the Pandemic) I asked my brother who was living in Staten Island, NY if he would ever consider moving closer to me. My brother, being a diehard New Yorker said no. However, that Christmas 2020 he called me and said he would move to Frederick. With that, I immediately began my search for independent living options in the Frederick area. I knew that my brother at the age of 71 and having lived in NY his entire life – I needed to find him just the right place. After checking into several facilities and doing my due diligence – Edenton Retirement Community rose to the top of the list. Jennifer Holmes was my point of contact at Edenton, and she was just wonderful! She helped me set up my brother in a beautiful one-bedroom cottage in the independent living section of the community. What was the icing on the cake for me was – Edenton offers a number of supportive services. For example: a variety of meal plans which can be enjoyed in their fabulous dining room or delivered to your cottage. The resident can also arrange for housekeeping, laundry service, transportation to and from doctor’s appointment, beauty/barber services, fun interactive activities for the residents and more. I personally would rest easier knowing that Edenton has security for all their facilities. Additionally, Edenton can arrange for a variety of healthcare services, such as Medication Reminders and Supervision, and Licensed Nurse Services.
I could go on and on – but – the bottom line, my brother is extremely happy at Edenton. I would highly recommend Edenton and urge you to check it out and compare it to other facilities in the area.

My dad's last days were not the best. He was cranky and at times fearful and lonely, and I was across the country wishing I lived closer. The team at Edenton were kind, understanding and super-supportive from start to finish. Erin was a great support and a friend to me as we worked to transfer my dad from a less supportive facility, Michille in book keeping went out of her way, providing amazing service to me as I learned about long term care payments & billing, and Andy the event mgr. was a real pal to my dad, spending time with him and keeping him company. I can't say enough good things about the Edenton family, and I'm remain extraordinarily grateful to them as they supported my dad and our family during my father's long term stay.

After each of three hospitalizations beginning in January 2024, I have received excellent Home Health Care from Edenton aides. They have provided day and overnight recovery care, personal care and light housekeeping with wonderful attitudes and abilities. It was easy to quickly setup these services from Edenton. Many thanks to all involved.

The staff are very helpful and pleasant to be around. I have lived here for four years and have always received the help and care I need. I took a fall and staff were immediately there to assist me. The other people that live here are friendly and there are always activities and groups to enjoy. My cottage is spacious and has everything I need. Edenton is home to me now.

We recently moved my 89 yr old mom to Edenton Retirement Community and could not be happier with our decision. Jennifer Holmes was our first contact at Edenton and she was fantastic. She gave us our initial tour and addressed all of our questions and needs without making us feel pressured or rushed. We had discovered Edenton through one of the many events they coordinate with other Senior groups in our area. Edenton is a unique senior living model compared to others. They offer Independent living with services where my mom lives in a nice 1 bedroom apartment/casita w/ a cute porch. She can also keep her cat without being charged a significant monthly fee. My mom has access to fresh air and nature just outside her door. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained with mature trees and flowers everywhere. Many of the residents have dogs and it seems like someone is always out and about. They also offer traditional Assisted Living like other places but the uniqueness of the Independent Living coupled with Services really fit the bill for us. There are many custom options to choose from. The in house care coordination is excellent as well. I feel like my mom won’t be lost in the shuffle in such a tight knit well run place. Having been my mom’s main caregiver for the last 7 yrs I am particularly grateful for the support from not only the staff but the residents themselves. Her new neighbors instantly embraced her and have been so friendly. My mom has finally found her flock! We feel reassured she is safe, happy, and well cared for at Edenton. Most importantly, my mom is extremely happy herself. Very highly recommend!

My parents came to live at Edenton in 2016, to be closer to me. My dad had dementia, and passed at the end of that year, but my mother is there to this day. She quickly adjusted to life at Edenton and made quite a few friends. Mom was very active in many activities in Edenton including, book club, exercise, garden club, and painting. She has attended events at Hood College, FCC, the great Frederick Fair and downtown Frederick with Edenton. The pandemic was especially tough on everyone, but the team at Edenton was so helpful at getting families through it.
Mom is now in Orchard Terrace, one of the assisted living buildings at Edenton after suffering a stroke several months ago, but she continues to thrive and enjoy her life at Edenton. I think my brother and sister in law and I, along with my mom chose absolutely the best place for her (and my late father) to live.

My mother-in-law lived at Edenton in Independent Living for many years. She was active and social, thoroughly enjoying her life due to the new friendships she formed and the many activities planned for residents by the excellent staff. These days, she lives in Assisted Living at Orchard Terrace with a lot of help from the amazing aides and nurses. Everyone there is kind and caring. She feels loved!

The staff at Fiddler's Green have been very pleasant, kind and helpful every time I call. They are patient with my Dad and have a great sense of humor which he appreciates.

The management is very responsive and flexible in meeting needs of residents. All of the staff exhibit readiness to fill in whenever a need arises. My experience residing in another such facility has inspired me to make many unsolicited recommendations to people for their older family members to consider Edenton first should the need arise. After 17 months here I would never consider moving to another elder-care establishment..
