The tour to Rome and Athens was expertly organized, and clearly thought out to engage and educate the students.
Great experience would go again.
An amazing experience for anyone but especially the youth with their school being able to experience these beautiful parts of the world. My daughter loved the experience.
Guided tour of attractions was good, EF tour guide was very good. Accommodations in Rome were poor.
I was able to purchase a few different things while in both locations, but due to limited time, I was not able to shop around a lot. many shops were souvenir shops that I went to.
This trip was amazing. The tour director was so helpful and knowledgeable in every aspect of the trip. Athens and Rome were mind-blowing and I truly do not think you could fit more into 5 days than this trip did. Unfortunately there are two things that kept this trip from being 5 stars for me. The day trip to Pompeii did not include a visit to the museum. While the ruins were amazing, the story is really told by the casts and artifacts that they house at the museum. It was very disappointing to travel that far and not get to see them. The other disappointment was the hotel in Rome. We stayed at Ibis Styles Roma Vintage. Aside from the room smelling like smoke and mold growing in the showers, there was drag racing in the parking lot for 2/3 of the nights that we were there. While the breakfast was also less than desirable, these two things were big health and safety concerns for us and the kids. We discovered that the drag racing is a regular occurrence and upon reading reviews of the hotel we found that mold and smoke are known issues. It is very disappointing that EF continues to book their tours at this hotel despite the complaints. Overall, an amazing trip with room for improvement!
Food choices were horrible and hotel locations were very sketchy especially in Rome. Think twice before sending your child with this company.

Chaperones were not really chaperones. Upon arrival at every city, the kids were sent out in small groups to explore without an adult, a map, a plan or recommendations, for 2-3 hours. They were told to 'check in' with photos on whats app. This of course required charged phones and euro data. Before they even got out of Canada, they were required to follow the chaperones from the Toronto airport and the subway to Union Station, and sent out in small groups, with all of their luggage, to 'explore' downtown Toronto, without the chaperones. This was a horrible experience for them. One of the chaperones however, had the chance to go and visit her sister for the afternoon in downtown Toronto. So that was nice for her. This is after no sleep due to the time the flight left for Toronto, and before their trip in Europe even began. Then when they got to Rome (once again, no sleep, and the next day), they were all let loose in Rome, in small groups, while the chaperones went off on their own to see the sites. The kids had no maps, plans or recommendations. Again in Athens they did this upon arrival, for about 2-3 hours or more in each city. The chaperones called this 'free time'. I am leaving this information in the review so that others are aware. If we had known this, we would have reconsidered doing the trip OR we would have helped our child prepare with a map, some info and ideas of what to try to see. We wrongly assumed the chaperones, would, well, chaperone them around on the 'self-guided' walking tours (code for no adults whatsoever).
