Good for start-ups and micro businesses, bad for established online retailers

EKM provides a platform with design templates, a point of contact for troubleshooting, hosting via a third-party, a third-party API and they continuously develop their software. This makes EKM ideal for businesses starting out in ecommerce, as one subscription covers all your needs and spreads much of the fixed costs across multiple subscribers. The downside is that as businesses grow, they will find the restrictions of a one-size-fits-all product constraining when they want agency work, and they will want to explore a wider choice of payment processors to save money, but find they cannot, as EKM limits the payment integrations they allow for monetisation purposes. The monthly subscription price is very reasonable for businesses with low ecommerce turnovers and most add-ons are free, but once annual revenue exceeds £1M, EKM is expensive and restricting. Turnover is probably the key decider on whether EKM is a good or bad choice.

The response to my query was quick, easy to understand and very helpful. I like the fact that there are multiple avenues of getting support: via email, chat (both bot and human) and also over the phone. Very good.

I cannot thank Dean James enough for going above and beyond to help me with the nightmare of the PCI DSS Compliance. The ClearAccept pci support team had emailed to say that the AoC submitted on 19/12/2025, was now not accepted; and instructed that I needed a QSA to ensure the compliance, even though this was not nessessary for a level 4 Company. The nightmare just continued when I was told that there needed to be a scan of the website. The questions asked from the "page bot" I had no idea about, or how to answer, which is when I contacted the support helpline and thankfully spoke to Dean. He contacted the Pci portal and managed to help me navigate through this ridiculous minefield. Now, I am thankfully still receiving ongoing support to help me through the rest of the scanning ordeal!!!...

UNBELIEVABLE SERVICE - AVOID

I have been using EKM for around 9 years and unfortunately they have totally fallen apart as a business. They have no idea how long it will take to fix ANY issue (they just say as soon as possible). They have been trying to resolve and ongoing issue with Bing Ads which is costing me around 5k a month is lost revenue. My latest correspondence with Tom regarding this issue (after multiple times of chasing) was “The engineers are still working on this at the moment I don’t have a timeframe for this, but as soon as that is sorted, I will update you on this ticket.” - this was in June 2025!!!!!. They just expect people on the platform to go away if they ignore you enough. I have also been waiting for a member of the Management Team to call me for over 5 months to have a chat about some additional issues - still waiting. Now I have an issue with outgoing email order confirmations not reaching ANY customers - again they don't know how long it will be until they can provide me with a fix (the initial fix they gave me was incorrect).... It’s a real shame as they used to be good :-(

Our understanding is that the issues raised have now been addressed, however we want to make sure you feel fully supported. If there’s anything still not working as it should, or if you have any further concerns, please continue the conversation with Beth via your open support ticket so she can look into this further for you.

We’re genuinely sorry that your recent experience hasn’t reflected the service you expect from us, and we appreciate you raising these concerns.

I have been with EKM for quite a few…

I have been with EKM for quite a few years. I am elderly now and need more help than I did. I worked with a lady who has now died. I thought I would have to give up. But no! Tia, Beth and Olivia stepped in. Olivia refreshed my site, lace making, despite not knowing the craft did a great job. Tia, who has held my hand from the beginning, and lovely Beth who got it all going , were there for me from beginning to end. What a great team. Thank you.💕

10 years strong with EKM - brilliant company!

EKM have been looking after us since I started with FGC over 10 years ago. The system is really easy to use and if there is ever an odd occasion we have an issue, the team are easy to speak with and it gets resolved really quick and efficiently. I recently spoke with EKM about wanting to freshen up our website (particularly the mobile view) and as we were still on an old template from 10 years ago, they very kindly completed a complimentary redesign! Olivia Foxton was so helpful and patient as it took a few months to get to the end result, but we are so pleased with it, and it's all working like a dream! Thanks for much EKM, we are still a very satisfied customer after 10+ years.
