Do NOT Buy from Empowered PC

I strongly advise against buying from Empowered PC. I purchased a physically branded, custom-modified laptop from them in March 2025, and within six months it became completely inoperable. Despite repeated follow-ups and two separate RMAs, the company refused to honor the warranty on a critical component—the motherboard—claiming it was “used” or “B-stock,” and insisting only the parts they installed were covered.

I was quoted $1,544 for a new OEM motherboard with just a 60-day warranty, or roughly $700 for a third-party part with only a 30-day warranty. Their customer service manager repeatedly provided dishonest statements about warranty coverage, and I have emails proving their dishonesty, leaving me with a defective product and no real recourse.

This experience has been frustrating, dishonest, and unacceptable. Do NOT use Empowered PC—go with any other competitor.

I'm sad to report that I have had three (HP 27" All-in-One Touchscreen Desktop - Intel Ultra 7-155U, 64GB DDR5 RAM, 4TB SSD, Wi-Fi6, Adjustable Height, Webcam, Win 11 Pro, with MS Office Lifetime License, Keyboard units in my possession since April 1, 2025). I purchased the PC via Amazon through the sponsored seller Empower PC. They all died—all of them from the same problem: a dead boot drive. What's worse, they were from the same sponsored dealer, Amazon Seller - Empowered PC. This company initially worked with me, sending replacements, answering the phone, and so on.

When the last PC failed and Amazon and I demanded a refund, the problems began. I won't bother with the detailed information; I will simply say that I received a partial refund, less than 40% of the original price. I was told that a full refund, which Amazon had issued on May 24, 2025, was available.

On Friday, May 30, 2025, in the late afternoon, an email arrived, informing me of a partial refund of about 40% of the designated refund, listed as an Adjustment. This was never discussed with me, nor agreed to by me. When any deviation from the original promised refund was discussed, I made it clear that nothing less than a full refund was acceptable.

I was initially impressed with this HP All-In-One Desktop. Look what it advertises! But when three die of the same problem in less than a month, what is it that you're buying?

Don't look to HP for help, you won't get it. You'll be referred to the Amazon Seller - Empowered PC. There's no Prime protection! If the dealer tells Amazon that the PC failed or was damaged during return shipping, even though it was packed to their specifications in the original packaging, Amazon is apparently compelled to accept their word and issue a refund accordingly. Then you're lost, as is your money. You won't have a PC; all you've done is give an unwarranted gift to a dealer.

I'm not trashing HP PCs! It was fast, elegant, seemingly wonderful. Even the setup was straightforward. I cannot explain why three of these units failed in this manner; was it HP's fault or the fault of Empowered PC for modifying it? What I can say with certainty is that buying this PC from this dealer, or any sponsored dealer, puts you at risk! Buy Prime or don't buy! No Prime, no Amazon Protection.

At this moment, I believe buying from this company on Amazon as a Sponsored Company and not a Prime seller is asking for a disaster.
