I’ve been subscribed to epic provisions for about a year and everything was fine until a $172 order that they told me was delivered never arrived. I have sent two emails to the only contact information I can find for these people, which is not easy as there is no contact info on their website, and there has been absolutely no response. I will now dispute the charge with my bank and I will probably cancel my subscription. The bars are good, but I will have to keep buying them at the supermarket instead of subscribing if this is the way they respond to customer problems.

Great product but...

The online/subscription experience was simply not acceptable. You can have a subscription without having an account. So when I tried to "log in" and pause a subscription, I couldn't and was charged for a shipment I didn't want at the time.

Then when I asked for a refund, I got no response. The Communication channels (with General Mills) are awful and unhelpful. My subscription has been cancelled and I will not be shopping with them any longer.

This is my quick review based on the venison (sea salt + pepper) bar, made by Epic Provisions.

YUM.

I have had one or two of the Epic meat products before, but it has been a while. However I was recently looking for some packable protein to supplement my nutrition on the run (upcoming ultramarathon). In training, I have used some beef sticks and jerky as my main protein sources. Not my favorite, but they worked well enough. However, this venison bar seems far superior. I love this as a snack at home or on the go. Very satisfying and simple but tasty - good amount of pepper, but not too much. The texture is just soft enough, kind of like a fork-tender steak. This tastes, looks and feels like a quality meat product. The ingredient list is short and simple. I don't think I care much about branding and such, but I suppose the packaging is attractive in an understated way. If my ultrarunning experience tells me anything more worth noting about this product, I'll update this review. In the meantime, I would say that if you tend to like meat sticks or jerky as a snack/protein source on the go, and you don't mind the occasional relatively small splurge, get yourself some Epic Provisions.
