As with other reviewers, we found Escape to Sri Lanka very last minute after not finding anything elsewhere. However, what a fantastic find! Myself & my wife couldn’t have been more pleased with these guys.
We stumbled across their website and left a message, about what we thought we might be looking for. Their website has many helpful recommendations. Within about 10 minutes we had our first conversation with Nadesh, it was so refreshing to talk to someone who clearly had fantastic local knowledge and knew their subject of travel and customer satisfaction inside out. He listened really well to what we liked and disliked, not at any stage did he suggest what suited him.

Nadesh very quickly put together a bespoke itinerary that hit the mark first time, which is amazing as we are very particular.
Nadesh was able to tweak the itinerary after a further conversations, he was so quick to respond. Nadesh knew we wanted quality, quietness and luxury. Nadesh seems to be available day & night 7 days a week. Through his contacts, he managed to ensure he was able to keep a room at a small boutique, fully booked hotel, in Bentota, whilst we tried to sort out our flights.

The holiday started magnificently by being greeted by our driver Abeetha and taken to our hotel in Colombo in a nice, clean, a/c car. Abeetha was a very considerate driver (not something you see a lot of in Sri Lanka) and was very friendly, cheerful, knowledgeable and helpful.

Nadesh’s choice of hotel in Colombo was amazing, a real wow factor. Nadesh got the location spot on, with the key areas within walking distance.

After arriving, we were very promptly contacted by Kirthi, who is on the ground in Sri Lanka, to check everything was good and to let us know a few things. As we had an early arrival after an overnight flight through Dubai, she used her contacts to get us an early check in, which was amazing and very appreciated as the hotel was full due to the T20 world cup (treat seeing NZ & Sri Lanka players, a bit of a bonus).
Nadesh/Kirthi had arranged a tuk-tuk tour around the city, highly recommend it and not something we would normally think about, but great experience. Kirthi kept us posted and even sent a picture of the tuk-tuk! They also managed to get us a table at Ministry of Crab, which is a place that always seems fully booked! Great recommendation.

Our driver then took us to Bentota, an amazing beach area, perfect for relaxation. The hotel (Saman Villas which was another recommendation from Nadesh) was amazing and was so relaxing with amazing service. The team recommended many things to do (Lunuganga Estate, Madu Ganga River Safari) and places to eat and drink, especially Bamboo Shoot, with great local food.
They also arranged a day trip to Galle with the driver and again all totally painless.

Then Nadesh & Kirthi went over and above. Between leaving the hotel in Bentota for the airport, the Middle East air space closed. Unfortunately the airline had no idea what was happening but made it clear they would not help. We rang Nadesh who responded within minutes, and within 5 mins had found us a room at a 5 star hotel and helped us to get reliable transport there (unfortunately our driver had finished for the day and was uncontactable). Nadesh had no reason to help us, as we had booked the flights. As you can imagine hotels were very busy, however Nadesh & Kirthi managed to extend the hotel on multiple occasions, as we had to stay an extra 9 days (worse places to be stuck!). Kirthi was able to further recommend plenty of places to eat and see whilst we were trying to get home. Throughout our experience of trying to get home both Kirthi, Nadesh and even Abeetha kept in constant touch. Even once we were home they checked in with us.

In summary, these guys went the extra mile and far, far exceeded our expectations. They genuinely cared for us. For this level of service and knowledge they are amazing value. All we can say is Escape to Sri Lanka are an incredible team, they are truly outstanding. TRULY OUTSTANDING. THANK YOU Team!

The whole experience was handled expertly from start (booking) to finish (journey back to airport). We felt thoroughly looked after, and were introduced to numerous fabulous experiences. We feel we managed to see a large proportion of the country in our two week stay. We travelled with grown up children, and there was something for everyone on this trip. Beautiful wildlife, safari, scenery, beaches, culture and food. Our driver was exceptional. And the hotels booked for us by Escape to Sri Lanka were all of a very high standard - especially our hilltop retreat of eSKPe at Haputale. Thank you to Nadesh for making it possible in the UK and Kirthi in-country. Totally deserving of a 5 star review and can't recommend the company highly enough.

Personal attention to details to make the experience more comfortable and enjoyable. The hotels were excellent selection and the itinerary planned was to best accommodate our time and experience.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience with Escape to Sri Lanka. They organised a fabulous last-minute holiday for our family of four (two adults and our 23- and 21-year-olds), and everything exceeded our expectations.

Every place we stayed was lovely, comfortable, and thoughtfully chosen, and the whole trip was excellent value for money we definitely felt we didn’t overpay. The accommodation throughout was really beautiful and well suited to our family.

A special mention has to go to our driver, who was absolutely wonderful so kind, accommodating, and helpful, and he really made our trip extra special. We are incredibly grateful for how smoothly everything was arranged and how well we were looked after.

I have been fortunate to have travelled extensively in four continents. Never has a travel company worked so hard to assemble a bespoke package, complete with personal driver and staying in some of the best boutique small hotels and forest lodges. Not for fixed tour dates but for any date you wish! To start with I couldn’t get my head around it: a custom-made itinerary designed around my brief with the luxury and flexibility of a personal driver for 16 days, hand-picked small hotels and tree houses, all activities (safaris x3, whale watching, snorkelling trip, entrance fees to UNESCO sites, village tours, cycle hire etc, most food and even some bar bills plus your own driver available 24/7 to take you in an air conditioned car from place to place - all for a price comparable to a standard package for limited fixed dates offered by some of the bigger explore companies? Surely not possible! But these guys made it happen.
From being met at the airport by Vidu our driver to my last day 16 days later, the organisation has been seamless and we have been treated like royalty. Both Nadesh and Kirthi have been in touch regularly.
Escape to Sri Lanka is clearly passionate about ensuring their clients enjoy this intoxicating country and I cannot recommend them enough. I am already planning my next trip next year with my wife to see more of this incredible country and will 100% be using Escape to Sri Lanka.

We booked our Sri Lanka trip with Escape to Sri Lanka and it turned out to be one of those rare situations where someone else does the thinking for you and gets it right. All we had to do was book our flights and show up which suited us perfectly since my husband and I have very different ideas of a holiday. Somehow Kirthika managed to create an itinerary that suited us both perfectly.

She understood immediately that we care about quality service, good food and beautiful hotels rather than chasing brand names. Everything about the trip felt bespoke rather than touristy which was a relief because I actively avoid tourist traps. Even on quieter days she arranged excursions we never would have discovered by Googling “things to do in Sri Lanka”.

Happuthalle was the unexpected highlight. We originally planned a golden sands style only break and were gently persuaded to spend a few days in the hills. Best decision ever! We were booked into a boutique property, Eskpe, and it was definitely worth it. Warm hospitality, excellent food and a stay that made us wish we had booked longer.

Throughout the trip every request was sorted without us having to chase. There were occasional check ins throughout the day which felt attentive without being intrusive. It all made travel feel easy which is the true luxury.

We will happily book with these guys again if we visit Sri Lanka and I have already recommended them to friends and family. I sincerely hope other travel companies can match this level of competence If other travel companies operated at this standard, it would make travelling a lot less stressful.

I cannot recommend Escape to Sri Lanka enough for anyone looking to explore this beautiful island without the stress of planning it yourself. From the very first inquiry, our coordinator, Kirthika, was absolute magic to work with. She took the time to understand exactly what kind of experience we were looking for and crafted an itinerary that perfectly balanced adventure, culture, and relaxation. Her communication was prompt and professional, and she handled every logistical detail with such precision that we felt completely at ease before we even boarded our flight.

The execution of the tour was flawless, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the stunning sights. Kirthika ensured we hit all the highlights, including the breathtaking climb up the Sigiriya Rock Fortress and the scenic train ride to Ella, which were absolute standouts of the trip. A Truly Unforgettable Escape to Sri Lanka!

My friend and I had the most incredible time on our last-minute tour to Sri Lanka, and we can’t thank the team enough for making it all possible. From the very start, Nadesh was amazing. Despite our last-minute booking, he was incredibly responsive and attentive, crafting a personalized itinerary that perfectly matched our interests and the local conditions. He was always available, even outside office hours, making us feel supported and reassured.

Once we arrived, our driver Nimal was like family. He greeted us warmly and took care of us throughout the eight-day tour, always ensuring our comfort and accommodating our requests. Kritika, our local contact, was equally fantastic. She frequently checked in on us and even arranged a special cooking lesson with a local chef, which was a highlight of the trip for me.

Every accommodation we stayed at was top-notch, and one place, in particular, called eSKPe, truly felt like a home away from home. The staff were incredibly hospitable, and I got to learn how to cook delicious Sri Lankan dishes from the amazing chef, Dhanoshan.

Our journey began with exhilarating hikes and ended on a serene beach, celebrating New Year’s Eve with our feet in the sea. It was truly magical.

We have no hesitation in recommending this tour. It was everything we hoped for and more. We’re already planning our return to explore more of Sri Lanka and will definitely choose this tour again.

We approached escape to Sri Lanka at the last minute for a family holiday having previously checked a few of the other websites. We wanted to see all the major sites, they were extremely patient with our multiple requests and several changes. We went ahead and booked and so glad we did. A representative was at the airport despite our flight arriving early, the hotels were fabulous especially the one in the hill country. All the tours organised were spot on, the driver and their local rep was so polite and helpful no matter how small our request was. We loved Sri Lanka and are so glad we booked with them.

Our family of four had an absolutely unforgettable time exploring the beautiful island of Sri Lanka. Our trip started in Colombo, followed by Mirissa, Yala, Haputale and Sigiriya.
From the moment we arrived in Colombo, we were struck by the warmth and hospitality of the people. The city was vibrant and full of energy, offering us a great introduction to the country’s culture and cuisine.

We especially loved our time in Mirissa, where the beautiful beaches, nesting sea turtles, and laid-back atmosphere made it the perfect place to unwind. It was a peaceful escape that allowed us to slow down, enjoy the ocean breeze, and truly relax. We even got to see baby sea turtles crawling back to the sea after hatching.

We then went to the Kalametiya birds sanctuary where we saw many species of birds but also monkeys and water buffaloes.

Yala National Park was another standout experience. We got to see a leopard up close in its natural habitat, truly a once-in-a-lifetime moment. We also had an unforgettable encounter with a wild elephant that came very close to our jeep, making an adventure neither our kids or the grownups will never forget.

In Haputale, we were captivated by the lush hill country. Surrounded by tea fields and cool mountain air, we learned about Sri Lanka’s tea culture, both past and present. The stay at eSKPe was truly memorable in this luxury estate with the most brilliant staff.
Hiking to World’s End in Horton Plains rewarded us with breathtaking views and a sense of accomplishment the whole family shared. We saw evidences of leopards in the area but fortunately, or not, we did not see one.

Finally, exploring the ancient heritage sites around Sigiriya gave us a deep appreciation for Sri Lanka’s rich history. Climbing Sigiriya Rock, the Lion Rock, felt like discovering a Sri Lankan Machu Pichu. Walking among the ruins was very educational.

Every part of the trip felt meaningful and memorable. Sri Lanka exceeded our expectations in every way. Thank you, Escape to Sri Lanka, for taking such great care of us — we’re already dreaming of our next visit!
