I've used this firm a few times now, I've bought three houses with them, sold two and gone through probate with them for a relative over the course of 10 years.

I think there's a very nice approachable team working here. I've seen some of the other reviews on the site and there are some good points made.

I agree that repsponse times aren't always the fastest...however this is a small local firm...and as long as you understand that and know that things will always get done in the end you'll have a good experience.

I was very happy to trade immediate reponse for a firm that I knew the names of the people working there, who always picked up the phone and when I needed to go into the office always knew who I was as well.

I've found everyone very courteous and a pleasure to interact with.

Big thanks to everyone for all their efforts for me over the years and I'm sure you'll see me again :)

It was nice to have everything explained in a professional but friendly manner.

I really don't like leaving bad feedback but feel on this occasion it is necessary. We did not have a good experience selling & buying with this solicitor. communication was very slow and after months of waiting for updates, they found issues with the property we were purchasing and showed no sign of being pro-active to help move the sale along or keep us informed. I did most of the chasing myself.

I asked so many times for them to keep us regularly updated as it was very stressful and every time I had to chase and chase for feedback. All of our calls were screened and email responses were sent at the end of day and lacked clarity. I escalated this to the owner who made me feel better but then seemingly disappeared and has not been in touch since despite requesting to discuss our poor experience.

Our initial point of contact left for maternity leave and we found out by receiving their OOO and had to chase for a replacement. Then our replacement left the company the week we were completing. Again we only found out by receiving her OOO and had to chase again to discuss next steps with someone else. It wouldn't have taken much for the owner to get on the phone as soon as he could to reassure people things were in hand upon our contact leaving the company abruptly.

In addition to this experience, it doesn't seem like the company had the appropriate industry platform to communicate with banks and based on this could only communicate with our bank via fax or post which still to this day blows my mind.

At final point of completion we were sent the cash without any supporting completion statement to explain how the value had been calculated. We chased and were told this had to be sent in the post - not very helpful.

If you are looking for a solictor that will keep you informed and act quickly on your behalf, I would reconsider using Ettinger & Vickers.

Completely messed up our house move, caused a huge amount of distress and financial loss, any correspondence was incredibly slow. Extremely poor service, seemingly incompetent staff.
DO NOT USE!!

Would highly recommend Ettinger & Vickers. They went over and above in what turned out to be a complicated and drawn out sale of our property. Louise and Graham couldn't have been more helpful when keeping us informed of every detail during the sale process. As we had moved abroad before the sale went through they ensured everything was dealt with in a friendly and very professional way. Thank you.
