Our Everyroom Experience

We purchased sofas and ottomans from Everyroom on-line in February. We chose this manufacturer because they had a style we liked, and were a Canadian company that we wanted to support even if it meant paying a premium.

The furniture was delivered on a snowy day in March. It was sent to us in Edmonton from Calgary, in the back of a U-Hall truck. The goods arrived virtually unprotected, except for a very thin plastic wrapping film which was easily torn. Despite the snowy conditions, the delivery people wore no shoe protectors or gloves, and we had to put cardboard down to protect our floors.

The first item off the truck was frog-walked across the truck’s dirty floor, which damaged it. We immediately stopped them from unloading more items and advised them we wouldn’t accept damaged goods, but were told they had no choice but to drop everything off. We then phoned Everyroom to let them know what was happening, and were told that because delivery was being done by a “third party”, it couldn’t be returned with them; however, if we documented the issue through their on-line help desk portal, our concerns would be addressed. We submitted our complaint together with photos of the damaged pieces the next day, and again requested the goods be taken back. Based on the shockingly careless delivery of their own product, we no longer had faith that this company had any quality control standards, and feared their furniture simply would not last. We therefore requested a full refund, but were stonewalled on this at every turn.

We did not check this company’s ratings before our purchase, but after this episode discovered that they have one-star reviews across the board on Trustpilot, and therefore a rating of poor – and now we know why. Had we seen this before buying from Everyroom, we would never have purchased their goods.

6 Month Circus

Ordered a couch for about 5K and somehow ended up in a hostage situation with customer service.
Wrong colour cushion the first time. Wrong colour cushion the second time. Wrong colour cushion the third time. Three times. Same issue. Same circus.
They forgot the side cusion - cool cool, then wanted to charge me extra for it.
At some point you stop saying “oops” and start asking whether this company is run entirely through crossed fingers and wishful thinking.
Then came the incredible explanation that the couch is for sitting, not laying down. Which is amazing, because I was under the impression that couches existed for being comfortable in, not for following a strict moral code.
So if you’re looking for furniture, I’d recommend finding a company that can identify colours, fulfill an order correctly, and understands what a couch is.
This whole experience has been exhausting, ridiculous, and a complete waste of time.

AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!!

I would put 0 stars if it was possible.

As other recent reviewers have stated, they are running an operation of providing misleading advertising and misleading representations on their couches. Despite repeated confirmation (in writing and at their Toronto showroom), they delivered a couch with the incorrect cushion softness (a fundamental element to a couch). I immediately identified the issue and they have changed their story repeatedly as to why the cushions are not correct. At one point IN WRITING they confirmed that they are not able to customize back cushion firmness - despite specifically confirming they could and would prior to my order. The cushion filling for the couch delivered is also different from the show room model. The couch we received is completely uncomfortable and borderline unusable.

They are refusing to refund my purchase and take back their couch. Their customer service approach is to mislead, misdirect, and find any way to delay you taking any action against them. This is likely in the hopes that you eventually give up and move on.

They also represent that their couches can be delivered into any space and had difficulty delivering the couch into my basement. They offer no limitations to their representation that they can deliver. They caused thousands of dollars of damage to the walls of my stairway to get the couch into my home.

I strongly urge anyone considering this company to avoid them and look elsewhere. Spare yourself the inconvenience. Do not believe the 5 star reviews you see on the internet - for many of them, their legitimacy is suspicious at best.

We ordered the Sunday Sofa from Everyroom

We ordered the Sunday Sofa from Everyroom and were very disappointed. The couch we received is different from the showroom model: the cushions don’t sit flush, there are gaps between the cushions and the base, and the back is configured differently, providing less support than what we experienced in-store. We confirmed at the showroom that these differences are real—the showroom couch is softer, the back cushions are more supportive, and it is not supposed to have the gapping we received. This is not a matter of personal preference; it’s a discrepancy from the advertised product.

On top of that, we’ve been working with Everyroom’s team for over two weeks to get these issues resolved, and the customer service has been incredibly poor.

Avoid Everyroom.ca at all costs.

We waited 3 months for our sofa. When it arrived, it was so defective it was completely unusable. After not receiving a reply to our email I called the main support line. I asked for a manager and was told there was nobody available and that the only way to get support was to use the online portal to submit a ticket. Here is what is wrong with this sofa:

1. It is impossible to sit on because there is nothing tethering the cushions. You just fall off it.
2. The ottoman has the same issue and the top of it is just an unsecured cushion.
3. When you sit on it while somebody holds you down so you don't fall off, the bottom pullout bed pops open.
4. The arm wrests are not secure and wiggle because they have a single leg attached to the middle of the armrest.
5. The cushions have different densities making it impossible to use the pull out bed function. One half of your body feels like you are on bare wood while the other half is supported.

Now they are not honouring the support and satisfaction guarantee. Avoid Everyroom at all costs.

We bought a custom sofa from Everyroom


We bought a custom sofa from Everyroom in September. We spent almost 5k for the sofa. We were so excited to get it after waiting 4 weeks.
The quality and the construction of the sofa is horrible. Right after delivery we contacted Everyroom customer service on the quality and about many things wrong with it. The customer service keeps saying they will look into and get back to us. It has been One month now since we let them know and nothing has been done. Stay away from this company. They are horrible. It says made in Canada but we believe this company is based in India.

Terrible experience with Everyroom

Terrible experience with Everyroom. We were very excited to purchase a Cloud sectional from Everyroom. We were delayed a couple of times and the delivery time took about 8 weeks. We were not overly upset with this as 6 - 8 weeks would be pretty standard for a custom couch.
Even though we went through our order details several times with the rep from Everyroom they still go the order wrong. The arm rests were double the size we ordered and the back pillows and they were rock hard. We were missing a side pillow as well as extra covers which we paid extra for. The one side pillow we received was so big you could not sit on that side of the sectional. When we took the covers off the pillows doubled in size. This explains why they were rock hard as they tried to jam big pillows in to small cushions.
When we complained we were told we could only do so via email. Support responded that they understood the frustration and would look into it. A week later nothing. I followed up several times without response. When they finally responded they told me once again that they would look into it as if it was the first time hearing the issue.
At this time it is still unresolved. We spent $5000 on a couch we did not want. I can not recommend this company to anyone. Great concept but terrible customer service and build. They failed miserably.

Everyroom's Vegan Leather Ain't Great

TLDR: The couch is nice, but dealing with Everyroom's customer service made me want to upholster myself in bubble wrap and roll into the sea.

I'm really disappointed with my experience with Everyroom. My husband and I spent months searching for a large sectional made of vegan leather that would hold up against our big dog, and were also hoping to invest in a Canadian-made product. We ended up purchasing the Elite Comfort Sectional in their vegan hyde material.

We've had the couch for a little over a month and while it looked great at first glance, the back cushions weren't attached to the actual structure of the couch. Because of the slipperiness of the couch material, the cushions would slip and fall if you looked at them funny. The photo below was taken right when I walked in the door after getting home from running an errand while our dog was kennelled. Unless we had an unhinged couch-hating ghost running amuck, we had a problem. Further, every single guest that walked into our house would comment the slipperiness of the cushions within 1 minute of sitting on the couch, which sucked.

After about a week of this, I contacted customer support. There was a promise to get back to me with a solution. Crickets. I'd follow up. Another promise to get back in a couple days. Crickets. I'd follow up again. Another promise made. This lovely non-communication went back-and-forth six times over the span of a month, all-the-while we were still getting comments from our guests about how great our couch was to look at, but how sitting on it felt like you were magic-carpeting down an icy hill.

While sitting in an echo chamber of 'we'll get back to you in a few days', we began to wonder if the product was defective. Upon further review, the couch cushions sent to us didn't appear to match what was advertised on the website. Ours were very tall and skinny, while the ones advertised were shorter and had a thicker base. We shared this with the customer support folks, but again no action was taken.

Overall, 1/10 experience. The couch is nice to look at, but not nice to sit on. The customer service BLOWS. Do not recommend, like at all.

Buyer Beware

We ordered a sectional that was delayed multiple times and finally arrived damaged and not as advertised. The fabric was stained, the “feather” pillows were solid foam (and different sizes), and the wooden boxes finish was uneven and rough.
We’ve lost all faith in their quality and customer service — do not recommend.
