So I was a receptionist at a veterinary clinic in Duluth Minnesota. Yeah. I checked in dogs and cats for a living. $29,800 a year.

Which in Duluth is like... you can survive but you can not LIVE. I had been doing it for 6 years and my biggest career accomplishment was learning how to restrain a 90 pound german shepherd while the vet gave it a shot. Not exactly resume material. Or so I thought.

I saw an ad on facebook for the free training. Almost didnt click because I thought cybersecurity was like... hoodies and hacking and math.

Im terrible at math. Like embarrassingly bad. But Dennis kept saying no coding no math just compliance and processes and I was like ok tell me more.

Signed up. Didnt tell anyone except my best friend because I was scared it wouldnt work and I'd have to explain to everyone why I wasted the money. That was my biggest fear honestly. Not that I couldnt do it but that I'd fail and people would say "see, shouldve stayed at the vet clinic."

The program was good. Really good actually. Alex was amazing in the coaching sessions and the way he connected my vet clinic experience to compliance blew my mind.

Apparently "maintaining OSHA safety protocols and controlled substance documentation" is a transferable skill. Who knew. I was literally handling DEA compliance for controlled medications every day and didnt realize it.

Joyce was my rock. There was one week where my car broke down and I couldnt get to the library for wifi (my apartment internet was terrible) and she arranged for me to do everything mobile-friendly that week. Didnt miss a beat.

Got CRISC certified. Team applied to jobs. Daniel prepped me. Got an offer from a pharmaceutical company for $101,500. I was sitting on my couch watching Survivor when the email came in and I read it out loud to my dog like he understood lol. He wagged his tail though so I think he was happy for me.

Wish the certification prep had more flashcard type resources for people like me who learn by repetition. But I passed so I cant complain too much.

If you work at a vet clinic or any medical office reading this... you know more about compliance than you think. Way more.

First week on the new job and I wanna give an update since most reviews are about GETTING the job. The 3 month on-the-job support is NO JOKE. I started my role at a healthcare company and there were things I don't understand. Audit terminology. How to format findings. What a CAP (Corrective action plan) should actually look like.
I messaged my EMC specialist and she walked me thru it in 20 minutes. My MANAGER complimented my first audit report and she has no idea I had help putting it together lol. This part of the program doesn't get talked about enough. They don't just get you hired and bounce. They stay with you for 90 days ON THE JOB. that's huge. That's why I didn't get fired in month 1 honestly.

This is just an update to my previous review,

I haven't got my refund. It has been seven months since I asked for my 100 USD, it has been very poorly managed by the people of the company. All information about the refund has been provided, including PayPal account info, but the email reply says we are reviewing the refund for the past seven months.

If it takes seven months to process a refund, then what else can I say about this company, Tolu? You should be ashamed of yourself. You are as fake as your videos

My Success Manager is detailed, informed and very patient with me. Besides, her tone is very courteous.

The whole program is detailed and thorough. I didn't think it will be that detailed and broad.

I joined this program with high expectations based on the promises made during their onboarding and 5-Day Challenge. I was then selected into their so-called “Mastered Program” and assured that I would secure a job within 90 days. Unfortunately, that never happened.

I invested a total of $12,000, committed my time, followed their process, and stayed actively engaged with the team. Despite all of this, I did not achieve the promised outcome. Instead, I experienced repeated delays, poor communication, and even missed job opportunities due to the team’s lack of timely support.

What is most frustrating is that I raised these concerns as early as December 2024 and continued to follow up consistently, yet no meaningful resolution was provided. Rather than taking accountability, they have refused to issue a refund, even though the core promise of the program was not fulfilled.

I am also deeply concerned about how payments were handled. There were instances where funds were taken from my account without proper authorization, which raises serious concerns about their business practices.

This experience has been both financially and emotionally draining. My biggest regret is ever joining this program.

I strongly advise anyone considering this company to think carefully and do thorough research before making any financial commitment.

From the very beginning, I made my concerns and frustrations clearly known to your team. These were consistently ignored. The delay you referenced was not due to inaction on my part, but rather a direct result of your failure to respond despite my repeated attempts to reach out through multiple platforms, including emails, calls, and even escalating the matter through a Success Manager.
Additionally, the terms under which I joined your program included a money-back guarantee that was clearly stated without conditions, other than not securing a job within 90 days. At no point was I informed of additional requirements or restrictions.
However, after this period, I was asked to sign a waiver extending the timeline by an additional three months. When I refused to sign this new condition which was not part of the original agreement communication from your team abruptly stopped.
I want to emphasize that I have documented proof of all correspondence, including my multiple attempts to contact your team, the lack of response, and the introduction of new policies after my enrollment. These actions are not consistent with fair business practices.
Given these facts, I request that you reconsider your decision and process my refund accordingly. I expect a timely resolution to this matter.

My experience so far has been excellent, especially as someone transitioning from a non-IT background into cybersecurity. The instructors have been instrumental in making the learning process smooth and accessible. The branding team has been outstanding, and the success manager has been very supportive throughout the journey. Overall, the entire team has been fantastic.

I am lucky so far to have a good communicating Success manager named Moses. Excelmindcyber has been a great organization to open the door for me in GRC.
