Due to the general incompetence of every department at Accredo (part of Express Scripts/Evernorth), my medication and treatment are officially a month past due. Accredo is incapable of processing anything in a timely fashion. Additionally, they tried to file my claims in a way that would result in my having to pay a huge cash amount to them, rather than processing it through the submitted prior authorizations (which would mean they received a lower, negotiated, fee from insurance/pharmacy benefits). They kept trying this particular money-grabbing tactic for well over a week. Once we finally got them off of that track, and got the shipment scheduled, they somehow managed to miss getting the medication onto the FedEx truck, resulting in YET ANOTHER UNECCESARY DELAY.
I have spoken with people as high up as I have been allowed, with Hazel, a supervisor, being the latest person to try and explain away Accredo's failings. All I get it a bunch of apologies, and a guarantee that it will not happen again. Considering they have failed at every single task they have been given, I do not have much hope. It is also worth noting that in their attempts to explain away the company's (and its employees) shortcomings, I have been silenced. They simply will not hear what I have to say, choosing instead to ramble aimlessly, making up excuses that do not actually excuse what has occurred. No one at the company cares about your health. They simply want to make as much money off of each patient as they can, and they WILL absolutely sacrifice your health to ensure they get money from patients, and not the lower prices they would receive from benefits providers.
I, unfortunately, have no choice but to use Accredo as my prescription benefits manager is Express Scripts, who gave me no choice but to go through Accredo.
Express scripts screws NYS customers
Express scripts began a policy on January 1 of requiring your prescriptions to be for a 35 day or more. New York State does not permit filling controlled substance prescriptions for more than 30 days. Therefore express scripts does not fill prescriptions for controlled substances in the state of New York. However, express scripts did not inform their customers of the affect of their new rule on their New York State customers. It took me three weeks, 12 emails and two phone calls until I figured it out.

Horrible service and non existent Customer Service. I paid extra for expedited shipping and never got it. Asked for refund and crickets from them. Medicare should not do business with sheisters.

Express scripts experience as an employee 2022/ 2025 was Poor experience as you can see reviews all across the board at 2 stars. This is a poor rated company to work with.
Any dedicated employee or recommend other options. Stress levels are high work life balance is low.
I worked for Express Scripts from 2020–2021 after returning to the workforce following injury in 2015. I was very grateful for the opportunity and excited to be back at work. During training I performed very well and was proud of how quickly I was able to learn the role and contribute. I was knocking it out of the park.
While I appreciated the chance to work at CIGNA express scripts, st. Louis, Missouri, Wfh and the training program provided, I found the work-life balance to be challenging. Expectations were high, and maintaining a healthy balance between work and personal life was difficult.
My experience with management was also challenging at times. Team manager was difficult to work with, and communication and support were not always as constructive as promised during training. I prefer resolution over conflict, so I made several attempts to address concerns and give the situation time to improve.
Overall, I remain thankful for the opportunity to return to the workforce and for the skills I gained while working there. However, improvements in management support and employee work-life balance could make the experience better for future employees.
Respect dignity, trust promised prior to employment would make work life balance, more efficient.

My doctor writes the prescription and sends it to EXPRESS SCRIPTS. Their pharmacist takes it upon himself to modify my prescription. When I called them about it he said I didn't need that much and he changed it. He is not my doctor, had to contact my senator to get it fixed. My refill is due and I ordered it today, looking forward to the same stunt. It's all about them saving them money, and my meds are paid by the US govt for retired military.

Express Scripts obviously doesn't want new business.
Have called Express Scripts 2x this morning and spent nearly an hour on the phone (mostly on hold). Thought I would transfer my prescriptions to ES from a walk-in pharmacy, but they're so unhelpful I don't think they want my business. They will not call my current pharmacy. In fact, the customer service agent tells me that the pharmacists can't make outgoing calls.

Called the main insurance advocates, they thought it was atrocious, called, denied again. Who is holding them accountable?
Terrible Pharmacy Provider
I had a prescription refill sent to Express Scripts on 29 December by my doctor’s office. The prescription requires injection within so many days from a specific date. If it’s not then the medication process has to be started all over again from the beginning. On 5 January the order was still processing with this company. Again this is not a new script just a refill. When I called the representative said 1) the order was too far in the processing steps to request overnight or expedite shipping even though it hadn’t been shipped yet and 2) It would take 24 hours to update the status of the medication getting out the door but the time of shipping (from leaving them to my door) would still remain the same so I likely wouldn’t get it until next week.
I was told I would have to have my physician override Express Scripts filling the order and have it sent to a local pharmacy. It’s beyond me how this company, knowing there’s a holiday on the 1st, didn’t ship medication orders placed before the holiday and weekend. This company has been nothing but trouble since I started using them for this medication. They’re terrible. If you can avoid them do so.
Express Scripts denies medication your doctor prescribed
I would like to complain about this company for a variety of reasons - the easiest one first - their website has literally never functioned - ever - in 6 months.
The major issue I have is that they have decided that I do not need the total prescription of a medication I have been taking for 30 years - I can only get 23 out of 30 per month for some unknown reason - nothing has changed about the doctor or the prescription - yes, it is a Schedule IV controlled substance - as I mentioned I have been taking it without incident for 30 years . . .
I am in the process of filing a formal grievance with them and any boards that I can complain to - I'm sure they will say that this change was made by a doctor - which is generally a lie from any insurance company
Their customer service branch is either unwilling to look up why this change was made or too stupid to do so - I've talked to two separate people who have told me it is because it is a controlled substance - people sometimes need controlled substances to manage illnesses - that is why they are not illegal.
Of course all new prescriptions will go to my local pharmacy from now on.
Miserable to work with
Miserable to work with. I am stuck with them through my works insurance. They are invasive, demanding and think they can rule my life. They think they are more in charge than my doctors. I can't wait to be done with them. They reject prescriptions, and force me to jump through hoops EVERY MONTH while they pass me person to person. They force classes on patients in order to get a medication? They want to force my private information to random classes or their people. Its weird... go away express scripts!
Terrible company, zero customer service
Terrible company. Instead of contacting your dr office when there is a question or issue with a prescription (like any other pharmacy would do), they cancel your prescription and out the burden in the patient. Terrible company, and good luck being able to reach anyone there if you call and need to speak to a human. And if you get one, they can't help anyway.

Express persists in adding unapproved charges even though I requested express scripts to get my approval for any charges to my card. The problem is compounded by the fact that neither paper invoices nor the online site provide full and accurate information about orders and payments express is the. Worst pharmacy or mail order I ever encountered. I have no trust in the accuracy of their billing practices.

One star is to generous
There should be a no star option - Express Script is absolutely the worst company to use to fill your RX. I pray that no one who is on any type of life-or-death medication is using Express Script. I just started using them and less than 2 weeks, they failed to fill a prescription it sat in "processing" status for over a month, my doctor's office spoke with them and they informed my doctor's office that everything was good to go but yet - NOTHING. It took me well over an hour just trying to thru the automated phone service to speak to a live person. When I asked the representation how he was doing (being courteous) the response I received was "I'm busy". WTF was that. Well anyhow, after going back and forth, I was told my doctor had to send a new RX to them, after I told them they had one and spoke to the doctor's office. At this point, I had enough and told them that thank goodness I didn't need this RX for anything major and if so, I would be dead waiting on them to fill the RX. I called my doctor's office and asked them to send my RX to Giant Pharmacy. Avoid Express Script - they are the most incompetent bunch of so called busy can't do anything right company and has no business handling anyone's prescriptions.

This company is the absolute worst! They are criminals and cons! You will NOT get your medication on time. You WILL overpay. And you will NOT be able to speak to anyone about it! Drug for Chemo side effects being restricted as if EScripts are Oncologists
I am getting chemo for triple neg breast cancer and my Oncologist prescribed 3 anti nausea/anxiety medications, one of which is Ondansetron (gen Zofran). They were all for 30 tablets. The othe 2 meds came through 30 tabs except Ondansetron. That came into Walgreens in 9 tabs. I told my Onco about this and shown him the Rx bottle that had only 9 pills and written as 9 tabs on the bottle.
He puts it through again for 30 tabs and once again it comes back 9.
So my husband calls Escripts and they tell him the drug is restricted due to either cost or abuse. And what we can do is give a 800 number to the Dr so he can up the quantitiy to 30. So I did this. He calls me back saying Escripts had him on hold for a very long time and then hung up on him. (I know its what they do because last year they did the same to Walgreens when trying to resolve an issue w another Rx)
These little aholes think they are Drs and well I dont have to use them but I think people that do this are trash and should not be allowed near humans and medication.
I am going through hell but they dont give a sht. I will be taking 4 rounds of stronger chemo and would be nice to have the 30 pills in case I need relief from any side effects, especially nausea. I have been lucky with this last chemo but this next one has me nervous. And Escripts doing these restrictions adds to depression and sleepless nights.
I 100% hate this company and if I need GoodRX i will use them. There is no restrictions there.
Horrible company
Horrible company. Today while trying to refill my prescriptions, I found out they just stopped one. They did not notify me, consult my doctor or anything. How can a pharmacy just do this? For the record, I take anti-rejection medication. My life literally depends on my medication. This isn't the first bad experience I have had with this pharmacy. They deserve a negative 100 star rating.
