Build? Decent. Warranty? An actual nightmare

Let me start by saying if you’re looking for a well built pc in terms of cable management and overall build quality, extreme pcs is great. My pc arrived built very well.

The warranty and customer support is where I ran into issues, it is also the reason I could not recommend them to anyone else. Last January I ordered a custom pc that cost around $3500. The pc ran fine, I had some upgrades installed later on from a local shop that also worked fine, March 13th 2026 I start experiencing full system freezes. WHEA logger fatal hardware errors, clock watch dog timeouts, the pc would completely freeze as in you’d have to force restart. I reach out to extreme pcs support because this seemed to be a motherboard or cpu issue both were original to the pc and had not been upgraded. Live chat agreed most likely cpu (intel i7 14700k had known instability issues) and urged me to send my pc in. I was hesitant, expressing discomfort with shipping my now $6000 pc to them when I had narrowed down the issue. They pushed anyway, I ship the pc they have it for a week and they reproduce the freeze. Rather than checking the motherboard and cpu AT ALL they focused on the gpu (mind you I sent the system without my gpu) eventually they tell me it was the riser cable, then it was an extender that the gpu was plugged into, they wiped windows etc. they tell me it is no longer freezing and then I get invoiced for another $160 to get my pc back. I get my pc back, same day it’s freezing. Then they tried to blame it on my environment despite the fact that they reproduced the freeze in their shop. I asked why the motherboard and cpu were not tested when the errors literally pointed to hardware, they insisted they thought it was gpu.
If you’re wondering how this story ends, I had to buy a new cpu out of pocket, a new motherboard out of pocket despite both of mine still being “under warranty”, oh and I’m also out the $300 in shipping I paid, and to top it all off as if it could get any worse, Windows was tied to the original motherboard, meaning I had to repurchase a license when replacing hardware.

I am extremely disappointed, I sent my pc in to be fixed by the pros, literally the people who built it, they send it back unfixed, my riser cable broken for my gpu(they put no packaging on the inside ?), and a piece of my fan broke off too. Which is insane given that I had to pay $300 for shipping round trip. Long story short; if you buy a pc from them, don’t pay for the warranty you’ll have less of a headache just watching YouTube or informed about your components on your own; you’re absolutely better off fixing it on your own don’t make the same mistake I did. Their diagnostic employees in my opinion aren’t necessarily to blame, but the structure in which they go about pc repair and diagnosis is insane given the issue was ultimately resolved by replacing the only two components that were not tested during their diagnosis

Thank you for taking the time to write this out in detail. We've read it carefully, and we want to say upfront: this experience fell well below the standard we hold ourselves to, and we're sorry.

You came to us with specific hardware error codes pointing toward the CPU and motherboard, you voiced hesitation about shipping the system, and our diagnostic process still didn't test those components directly. That's on us. The 14700K instability issues are well-documented at this point, and given the symptoms you described, those parts should have been front and center in our testing. The fact that you ultimately resolved the issue by replacing exactly the two components we didn't test makes that failure even clearer.

On top of the diagnostic miss, you received the system back with a damaged riser cable and fan, after paying $300 in shipping and an additional $160 invoice. That's not acceptable, regardless of the underlying diagnosis.

We'd like to make this right. Please reach out to management@extremepcs.com and reference this review. At minimum, we want to discuss reimbursement for the diagnostic fee, the shipping costs, and the physical damage that occurred in our care. We also want to take your feedback about our diagnostic workflow seriously internally, because you're right that the structure, not the individual techs, is what failed here.

Again, we're sorry. You trusted us with a significant investment, and we didn't hold up our end.

Bro I was like scared because of bad reviews but I ordered a keyboard and mouse on Sunday night and it came on Tuesday this is 5 stars not sure if it’s because I posted on reddit that I’m skeptical and then they somehow knew it was my order but this deserves 5 stars

Order #7772412 is currently in final testing/QA. Every system goes through a validation process before we pack and ship it out, and yours is in that last stage now. Once testing is completed, it moves immediately to final prep + packaging, and then you’ll receive your shipping confirmation and tracking by email as soon as the label is created.

If you don’t see the tracking email once it ships, please check spam/junk—or reach out and we’ll resend it right away.

First I'm not the type to leave a…

First I'm not the type to leave a negative review and will remove it if remedied. I bought a $4,000 titan ultra. On day 2, I was getting driver errors and forced restarts. Every 30 mins to 1 hr this happened with different error reports. I called them after creating a ticket because they wanted me to do all these checks which was beyond my ability.

During that call, he had me reset my windows - which erased all my work and putting 30k worth of deals i worked on at risk. Well restarting I needed a wifi driver and couldn't access from my laptop so I had to hang up.

Once I got into the laptop I tried calling back, but it was 5 mins before closing - no answer. So now im sitting with a dead PC and no service.

I'm going to give them one more try in the morning but im beyond pissed.

Edit / update. I have spoken to tech support and we went through a whole start up process. I lost two weeks worth of work. I havent had a chance to push my PC to see if fixes stop the random crashing. If it does, ill update this review up another star, if it doesnt... ill still update but less stars.

Edit 2: after about 3 hrs total of trying to trouble shoot they wanted me to remove a battery, restart and use metal to short and reset something (beyond my skillset). Ive started the return policy but here we are on a Friday and I have to wait for them to respond via email as the online return center said this pc was non refundable. This has deeply effected my business, and now I wait. Update on review upon their reply

Edit 3 and final review. DONT USE this Company. Ive taken my computer to an official repair shop. The techs at this company did not get my cpu up and running correcting. This repair shop is going to cost me another $300 at least - I was given an email to send a return because online it said non refundable. The email just kicks back as invalid plus with shipping and trouble shooting id be out a cpu for at least 2 weeks, cant afford that. Buyers remorse is real

thank you for posting the update, and I’m truly sorry for how disruptive this was to your business and your day-to-day work.

Even though you’ve confirmed the system is now running properly after the shop visit and you’re keeping it, the experience you went through is not what we want for any customer — especially the time lost, the stress, and the confusion you hit while trying to get help quickly.

We have a rigorous QA and validation process and we do not ship systems out untested. Every system is stress-tested and verified before it leaves our facility. That said, rare issues can still show up after delivery due to shipping vibration/impact, a connection that shifts in transit, or changes that occur during initial setup/updates. When that happens, our job is to make the path to resolution clear, fast, and within the customer’s comfort level — and in this case, we should have handled that better.

We’ve already reviewed this internally so the return-contact confusion and the “dead end” messaging you ran into doesn’t happen again, and we’re tightening how we communicate any higher-level troubleshooting steps so customers never feel pushed beyond their skillset.

Great Computer.

I ordered this around December 27 and it did take around 2 weeks to arrive when it did state it was shipping and 1 to 3 days they had to build it which I understand and it did arrive safe and looked amazing. Recommend this company.

Rushed shipping is a scam, and maybe the entire place is.

My boyfriend place an order early/mid December for a Christmas gift for me and it is still not here despite the fact he paid a very high price for rushed shipping. He paid for guaranteed delivery before Christmas. When he has reached out to them for updates, they told him that the PC was starting to be built over two weeks ago and there is STILL not an update and no tracking/shipping info. It seems very much like a scam, but we’re trying to remain hopeful from some of the other reviews.

Our Rush Build service accelerates the production queue, meaning the system is prioritized and built faster than standard orders. It does not override real-world factors such as part availability, holiday volume, carrier delays, or weather impacts — especially during the December peak season, which is the busiest time of year for custom PC builders.

This was a custom-built PC, not a prebuilt or off-the-shelf item. Custom systems require assembly, testing, and quality control before shipping. When we provide build-status updates, they reflect the real stage of production — not placeholders. Tracking information is only generated once a system has fully completed testing and is handed to the carrier.

We are absolutely not a scam, and we’ve been building and supporting high-performance PCs for years with thousands of satisfied customers. That said, we understand the disappointment of a gift arriving later than hoped, and our team has been communicating status updates as they become available.

If your boyfriend would like a direct update or needs further assistance, we encourage him to contact our support team with the order number so we can review the timeline and ensure everything is moving forward as quickly as possible.

Great customer service.

Order process was easy and my numerous questions were all answered to my satisfaction. The computer arrived in two days after placing the order. The laptop, MSI Prestige worked very fast, excellent image quality.
When recently I started experiencing problems with the computer I contacted Extreme PC. They identified the problem (non-functioning drivers, etc.) and remotely solved the issues. It took close to an hour. My computer works great again.

Exceeded Expectations

I was travelling for work and I needed a gaming laptop for my downtime in my hotel. I provided my required specs to my AI assistant and came up with the best option for my gaming needs and budget - the Asus TUF A15.

Looking at comparable units and prices, I was directed to Extreme PC. I emailed and advised that as it was a Thursday, I needed it in my hands by the next Monday.

Josh responded within 30 minutes and said they could obtain a courier quote to ship. He did and that cost added to the price of the unit still came in under the competitors.

I completed the order and received a follow up email to advise that Josh had selected overnight delivery for it to be with me on the Saturday - and it duly arrived.

So based on price, quality of service and communication, Extreme PC exceeded my expectations.

The device is fantastic also and did everything I needed it to do and more while away from home. I'm certainly going to look to them first when I next want to upgrade my PC or laptop.

i order a “Ready to ship” just to get the pc the next week on 20 june and its 2 july and its not shipping yet they send a email saying we gonna ship the pc early next week on june 25 im still waiting for it

Buyer Be Very Aware This Company Does Not Stand Behind Their Products

I purchased a Computer from this company for my son. They sent us a non working computer (it would not even power on). We spent a month fighting them to get a return label which they finally sent. Then they spent 6 weeks with no communication until we threatened them and then our computer arrived. It arrived exactly as it went back to them non functioning. When we asked them to extend the warranty as it came broken they fought us. Then we spent a month fighting with them to either take back the computer or fix it. They kept having calls admitted it was hardware related then sent us a bill for $138.00 to ship back their broken PC. Furthermore they refuse to let anyone but the receptionist speak to you, and constantly make mistakes. When we asked why we had to pay to ship their broken unit back to them they made some vague statement that they cannot use their shipping account (makes us concerned about their financial solvency). Do not send this company your money. Do not buy anything from them. Buyer Beware.

They have a really easy website to use and they let you know which parts work with which without having to fight and figure out what part works with what. Overall will highly recommend this company and definitely will be using again when I upgrade my computer
