Good quality items.
Been ordering from Faber-Castell for a couple years now. They are very efficient and I've yet to have one color pencil in a batch order missed. I love the brightness of their colored pencils. I like how they are oil based colored pencils and a high quality pencil. You pay a little more for quality of this brand but I’ve had enough cheap brands to know how to spot a good quality pencil. Cap on the end and good flowing wood. These satisfy all that. I have done a lot of colored pencil drawings with these and enjoy them. I have found the rarity that I need to call their customer service they are very good at answering their phones, refunding you if your order broke in transit (rare) or if they missed a couple. $4 on average a pencil yes, I want my money back if I get a few damaged it adds up. I’ve not had an issue with customer service. I just wish this name brand wasn’t so expensive. I don’t have money to put $400 down on their full set so I’ll have to order in small chunks each month until I get it all. The minus of having colors is people don’t learn to blend different colors together. You have to have 3 base layers before you work up to your main layer. You can’t just put one color down and call it done. A more advanced color pencil artist would know that.
I’m glad Faber-Castell understand their audience that buys these are the adults that either professionally draw or hobby draw. I am tired of going to craft stores physically only to find the art supplies in the kids sections and the quality of kid art supplies is well not great. I’ll go out of my way to find little gems like this brand and only buy cheap stuff in stores when I need something and can’t wait for it.
The only color I have an issue with is their white colored pencils usually used as a blender or lightener. I've had nothing but issues with it breaking left and right. After my 4th one breaking left and right I decided to stop wasting my money on them.
My other complaint is I don’t like their red. They don’t have a true red color and have yet an off red color. I’d call their closest red color more purple red. Considering red is a primary color, this is actually kind of frustrating not to have a real red.
Overall I enjoy the quality of Faber-Castell colored pencils and have designated them my main pencils. I just don’t like how expensive name brands have gotten. I usually buy quality over cheap quantity and I would count this brand as good quality.
I don’t normally write 4-5 star reviews but this brand deserves it. I’ve placed at least 6 orders so far and they ship pretty efficiently and it arrives very fast.
