Deceptive & unprofessional service
I went on December 4th for a consultation and a potential Brazilian blow out with JC. However, I walked away from the experience feeling completely taken advantage of.
The hair stylist JC was not transparent during the consultation. I have thick hair, she said that she was comfortable doing my hair. My hair was’t washed when she examined it so she saw the state of it and proceeded to have my hair washed by one of her assistance. As I mentioned my hair is thick so you have to know how to wash thick hair.
After my wash, JC looked at my hair, and having another opportunity to address the condition of my hair said nothing. I watched as she parted my hair in very small sections to administer the product so there was no way that she didn’t see that my hair wasn’t cleaned properly. When the work was done I stupidly tipped her $100 paid $525 for the service and brought products for my hair. In total I spent $700.00 at the salon.
When I got home I looked at my scalp and to my surprise it was still very dirty, and you could see the dandruff through out my entire scalp; it’s like my hair had not been washed.
Upset that I had to come out of pocket and find another salon to wash may hair, I sent pictures to Fabio the owner and tried to resolve the issue by asking for a partial refund. And based on principal, and the awful service I received at his salon I did not want to return. Washing your customers hair appropriately is perhaps one of the most important steps in getting your hair done and it was clear to me that JC did not care about my hair or me as a customer. But instead of resolving the issue Fabio made excuses and said that I needed a scalp treatment.
This is an absurd excuse, it’s the stylist responsibility to be transparent and suggest treatments or other options if it’s in fact necessary before she begins the work on the clients hair. JC did not have my best interest in mind. She did not address the dandruff, instead proceeded to put in the product. Therefore, doing my hair with no effort or care.
Furthermore, as a responsible and honest hairstylist JC could have handled this in one or two ways a) washed my hair herself insuring that it was done properly or b) offered up this supposed treatment that Fabio says I needed during the consultation in which I would have refused and gone to another stylist.
In conclusion, I was foolish to trust the integrity of this salon because of the high reviews. I paid a lot of money at this salon and in return I did not get the complete service that I paid for. Fabio is a horrible owner as he allows his stylist to practice deceptive and unprofessional services to customers.
