I had been looking for a specific type of used DSLR for some time before I located exactly what I wanted on Ffordes’ website. My telephone call was picked up promptly by a human (!) and my few questions were answered most satisfactorily. I requested a day’s delay on delivery and once I had the tracking number I was able to see that my camera was on its way, delivered the day I had requested with everything that had been promised. All in all an excellent buying experience for a long sought after piece of equipment.

I knew of Ffordes reputation because of Mark Littlejohn’s warm words about them, so finding myself on the Isle of Harris with a missing battery charger they were my first port of call for help. Excellent response, they found me a second hand universal charger that with the Heath Robinson addition of an old memory card to wedge the battery in place worked a treat. Posted straight away and all sorted. Simply brilliant - thank you!

I recently purchased a Leica IIIF BD Rangefinder 35mm Camera (circa 1951). As there are many pitfalls to purchasing a 75-year-old camera, I called & spoke with "John". I am by no means a photography "expert" - I consider myself, more of a "happy amateur". John took the time to not only answer all of my various questions but also, imparted his knowledge surrounding issues that were unknown to me. I was so impressed & reassured by this, I purchased the 50mm lens as well. If you are like me, a little lacking in the "knowledge department" & would appreciate honest & jargon-free answers, this is the shop for you. The camera arrived the next day. Excellent service throughout & I wouldn't hesitate to both recommend & return as a customer.

Ordered a tripod off their web site. Heard nothing for several day then phoned. They could not find the tripod in their shop. I had to pay another £10 for another tripod that they could find.
Why did they not let me know of these problems? I had to phone up. Not good customer service.

Recently Ffordes finished selling my Nikon camera equipment at the prices they said they could get for it. Even after they had taken their commission and collection charges I was still over £200 better off than I would have been if I had sold to a different but well known used and new camera trader.

Ffordes were easy to deal with and gave great instructions. They sold all 4 lenses and 1 body within 4 months despite them being cropped sensor DSLR technology which is falling from favour as new buyers tend to go mirrorless now.

As each sale happened their accounts team kept me up to date with the details of what sold and financial transfer to my account.

I thoroughly recommend Ffordes, a great team.

I was so hesitant about buying the 35mm lens as it was expensive and I was worried about purchasing it online, however, I had NOTHING to worry about. I have been a Ffordes customer for a while and I am always impressed with the quality and prices of their used items. I recently bought an Olympus Zuiko 50mm f/1.8 lens from Ffordes to add to my growing Olympus kit and it was better in the flesh than the excellent product shots suggested. The price was very decent too. I shall return.

I've been dealing with Ffordes for well over a decade now and the customer care and service has never been less that top notch. it's great to deal with staff who care so much about both product and customer. Ffordes embodies why real shops with real staff are relevant and vital in 2023. Here's hoping it's around for a long time to come.

Went to Ffordes yesterday to have a look at some binoculars. On top of lots of really helpful information and advice we were given a lengthy opportunity to thoroughly try out and compare numerous models. This wasn't going to be any sort of high value sale for them but even so the staff member listened carefully to our requirements and advised accordingly. He was very genourous with his time, we never felt rushed.
On top of all this, Ffordes price on the pair we finally chose was extremely competetive. We additionally received much useful camera advice and information even though we were clear we weren't planning to purchase anything in that line just at the moment. We left as very happy customers feeling that we'd been helped to make an informed choice and will certainly be returning when looking for photographic equipment in the future.

I have used Ffordes many times over the last few years, I rarely post reviews but felt a review following the last encounter was one that is long overdue. I had been badly let down by another company who despite having received my deposit for a new lens did not, and could not fulfill the order. In desperation I called Ffordes who checked stock, and took my order at around 15:00. To my delight the lens was delivered at around 10:00 the next morning. Previously I have bought new and second hand items from Ffordes they have always been as described and service has been class leading. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I was nervous about buying the expensive lens that Ffordes had in stock given that it was an online purchase and I couldn't view the item first. I shouldn't have worried. Ffordes customer service was outstanding. The lens came in perfect shape (and packaging) ultra fast. Communications were excellent. All round a really great experience.

I really needed a specific Sigma lens, just happened that Ffordes had it on their websites. Having never heard of this company before, I wasn't sure what to expect, but after I placed my order the service I received was outstanding. Customer service was top-level, and the delivery and lens was exactly as described. Now, I can confidently say that I'll come again!

Ffordes sold my Leica and got me a very fair deal, they are knowledgeable, efficient and very pleasant to deal with. More recently I rang them from overseas for advice on my new digital camera, they were so helpful and patient and solved problems that were way beyond me. Highly recommended.
