The First Student management (Ariel Davis on behalf of the Charter Center Team) was a big help in setting up our reservation. We have about 36,000 people that attend the Maple Leaf Festival in Baldwin City, Kansas, and have no where close for the cars to park. The drivers of the buses had to navigate busy streets and cars parked everywhere. It is a very stressful day. The First Student Drivers are the very first workers that the festival goers interact with. Every year we get comments about how polite and helpful the drivers have been. They have to deviate from the routes at a moments notice and do an excellent job of it. We have nothing but praise for the drivers from the Lawrence First Student bus service. Matt Mayo (sp?) was a wonderful driver and we would like to have him back next year if at all possible.

They left before the contract was up and left about 40 people stranded. Contract was until 12am and they left at 10:30pm. When I tried to call the driver, they didn’t answer. Then tried the after hours line and no one answered. Extremely dissatisfied. I ended up ordering Ubers for all the stranded guests. Talked to Shonda the next day (manager on duty) and she agreed to a refund. This was my wedding day and as a bride I should be stress free, not dishing out $100’s for Ubers. Will never recommend or use again. You get what you pay for, next time order through a luxury transportation service.

Our driver, Mary was kind and very punctual. We arrived at our destination on time returned to the school on schedule. Mary was kind to our students and made their first trip on a bus a very fun experience!

Overall, First Charter Bus Rental was a great company to use for our Kansas City Bus Trip. I was able to call customer service a few times and sort everything out with ease. Now for why the rating is lower, we had two issues with the bus driver.
First, they called saying they couldn't get to the original drop-off location which was about 2 miles away from where they were, and that we had to walk to them in 90-degree weather. Then, when leaving to head back home, they drove right past the original drop-off location.
Second, on the way to Kansas City we took I-70 which is faster but on the way back we took K-10 which was at least 20 minutes slower.

The drivers were great and the assistance for the day of were helpful and friendly! Scheduling was difficult and the process of paying for the bus even when you use it for a short time was difficult. But overall we were satisfied with the service.

The entire bus rental process was smooth and seamless. Our driver Dutch was great. She arrived early, came with an amazing attitude, and made the evening more enjoyable for all! I would recommend renting from First Charter Bus! It was an inexpensive and safe option to get a large group to and from our outing.
