Hour delay and wet baggage
We bought our tickets from Cape Town to Nelspruit in January 2026 for flighing in June. We could chose our seats (3A and 3C). It was not exstra legroom, just normal seats. We got it 'free of charge' and do have a print out of the booking. When we checked in yesterday (27th June) that seats were not available and we had seats in Row 18. I was not impressed! We waited an hour in the aircraft before taking off. Our baggage stood in the rain for more that 30 minutes! Everthing in our bags were wet!! Really, I am not impressed. Reason for hour delay: passengers being late and weather....

They held onto some of my belongings that they claimed were "dangerous" (even though half of them weren't). I told them I could come back for them a few weeks later, and they said that was no problem. When I arrived at their office on the agreed date, my belongings were gone, supposedly because they couldn't keep them for more than a week (even though no one had warned me about this; on the contrary, I was told it wasn't a problem).
I think some of their employees are taking advantage of this situation to steal from customers.
And now they refuse to refund me for anything, even the confiscated items that weren't dangerous at all.
I just lost more than 300 euros because of them and their terrible staff.
This company is dishonest, their customer service is disastrous, beware!

I’ve flown loads of airlines in dozens of countries & never written a review before. For a small airline from other previous experiences they rock in my books!
Terrible app to navigate
Terrible app to navigate. The refund process is even worse—every email comes with a new excuse. Trying to call is a complete waste of time, with calls disconnecting almost every time. Very frustrating experience overall.
Rebook rip off
I cancelled my tickets valued at $600. I cancelled because I wasn't sure my dlight to harare via doha would be cancelled due to the middle east crisis. I was told that my tickets were open and I could rebook anytime within the year. I managed to get to harare and rebooked the exact dates and times and they charged an extra $1000 on top of the $600 I had already paid. I feel I was ripped of by this airline. I definitely will not be flying again with them
Poor service attitude
Flights were on time. Aircraft’s were in good condition. On both flights staff were treated customers with an unfriendly attitude. This was consistent across the whole cabin crew. Customer service and engagement training would be needed.

🥰wonderful expérience with them. The staff was really cool ,hostess and steward really nice. The food tasted good also . I had 4 flights with them and I loved the expérience.
I only had 2 problems . The time connexion with my flight from JHB to Maputo was too short and ended up missing my flight. I explained to an agent in the counter , she was not empathic at all saying that I had to buy a new ticket and also refused any gesture. Went to another counter for the check in and the lady booked for me a flight for the day after.
The other problem is that the flight always arrives late .
Apart from that everything was good.
How to name it to keep refund ....
Booked a refundable business class flight with them.

No refund on fully flexible tickets despite Airlink cancelling the flights
Because of the flooding in Limpopo and the closure of the airport in Hoedspruit, Airlink could not fly to Hoedspruit and cancelled my flights from Capetown to Hoedspruit and Hoedspruit to Johannesburg. Airlink arranged then a direct flight from Capetown to Johannsburg and promised a refund. I would have been entitled to a full refund anyway, as I had fully flexible ticket for both flights. After more than 4 weeks I have received nothing except promises that the case is in process. From other reviews I assume that the case is just delayed endlessly and that I will never see my money again.

We are currently enjoying a visit to South Africa visiting family in Mossel Bay (George nearest airport) we haven’t seen them for 9 years having a great time until !!!
I booked a flight with Airlink to get us back to Cape Town to catch our main flight back to Amsterdam over two weeks away , in a mistake I inadvertently booked a flight from Cape Town to George when it should have been the other way around George to Cape Town 🤔🤪🤪🤪 genuine mistake
I duly cancelled the flight within minutes and rebooked the correct flight
The cancellation said refund would follow but could take a while 🤔🤔
I have since received an email confirming cancellation however no refund !!!! 😡
My brother in law rang customer care at Airlink spoke to a number of people ultimately a supervisor asking for a refund but to no avail
My advise is be very careful if you are intending /thinking travelling with Airlink South Africa 🤔🤔🤪🤪😡😡😡😡😡😡

Saw a review on here talking about how the toilets were out of order on their flight. I prayed that this didn't actually happen and it was just a fake review. But it was real and I suffered tremendously as a result. Never flying with them again. How is that even allowed? Surely you should have someone able to fix the toilet at all times?

One of the worst experience EVER
One of the worst experience EVER! On the flight the toilet was out of order, but this was nothing..... They diverted us to Lanseria (instead of Tambo) for NO REASON (each single other flight landed) and they refused to even cover the accommodation and meals for the people who - like me - missed the connections! I though South African Airways was worse BUT after this I am sure SAA is way better than this ! Try to get an alternative if you can -

Useless airline! Absolutely rubbish. Lost my luggage twice. How can transferring luggage be so difficult ??? It’s not complex . Delays lost luggage poor communication. Never again

Worst company ever !!! Had a flight from Polokwane to Johannesburg, then Johannesburg to Cape Town.
First flight was cancelled, apparently for weather conditions, therefore they did not have to pay the accomodations, pretty sure it is an excuse and that they lied to avoid to pay.
No explanations, no assitance was provide, we had to go get the informations ourselves and most passengers then drove to Johannesburg and I then booked a flight with South African Airlines.
Avoid this company !!!!!!
Excellent service Port Elizabeth to Johannesberg
Having read the negative reviews I can only say that's not my experience. Flew Port Elizabeth to London via Johannesburg with Virgin Atlantic who have a codeshare agreement with Airlink for the Port Elizabeth to Johannesburg connecting flight (as do British Airways) and the service was exceptional. Check in at Port Elizabeth really easy with boarding passes for both flights issued at PE and my baggage was tagged to go straight onto the Virgin flight at Johannesburg. Flight took off as scheduled and I was pleasantly surprised to see that there was a free drink and sandwich service for the 1 1/2hr flight, you won't get that in Europe. The sandwich was exceptional, flight was on time and staff really friendly. I would fly with them again without reservation. Two suitcases arrived as planned at Heathrow, no issues whatsoever.
The lies Airlink hides behind
Had a flight booked to Kruger Mpumalanga Airport from JHB on Friday 17 October, upon arrival at the airport they said the flight was cancelled due to poor weather conditions, I asked what can be done under this circumstance they said only place the ticket on hold or re-book the flight two days later. I had to book travel and a hotel to stay over and asked them who will carry the cost, according to them if it is weather related they can’t do anything else, (their policy) the next day it was all over the news they have technical issues with air traffic control therefore they lied to their passengers just to avoid paying penalties as they should have! I even asked the receptionist at the counter is this official or is the weather only an excuse they hide behind she said no it’s really the weather? Would love to hear what Airlink has to say about this?
