Editor’s Note
  1. Sophia Schoepfer, Editor
A quaint English village. A retired police officer. A series of mysterious murders. These are all the ingredients for another iconic Agatha Christie mystery. In this standalone novel, ex-policeman Luke Fitzwilliam is tasked with apprehending a serial killer who is at large in the seemingly benign village of Wychwood under Ashe. In seven full-page illustrations, artist Fergus Hare captures bucolic countryside scenes that, while beautiful, convey a simmering sense of menace. Another gem of Golden Age of Detective Fiction, reinvigorated in this stylish and covetable edition.

Books are very well made. Paper is substantial. Beautiful illustrations. Love that the book comes in its own case and the gold FS stamp on the spine. So nice.

Bought as part of my Agatha Christie collection. Not read yet but if previous books are a guide it will be first class.

Love that all the Agatha Christie's have matching artwork and cover font, so they make a set. Classis mystery cannot be beat! I can never get enough! Major character in this book was NOT one of her detectives such as Poirot and Marple, making this a unique plot. Definite thumbs up!
