Children and families are definitely not their focus. Greedy, dishonest, overpriced
Absolute scam. R&T tours claim to be organisers for football tournaments.
First of all you must book specific accommodation specified by the company if you wish for your child to take part in the football tournament. This time it was The Bay Filey. The booking in this case was made by a team leader. All done at once, as all families had deadline to adhere to, all payments had to be done by certain date too. 11 families agreed to participate. The accommodation was called "exclusive lodges/apartments". The whole point of making a group booking was for the group of 11 boys to spend some time together not only on the pitch but also in their free time. On arrival 10 families were offered lovely lodges around the lake, secluded area, decent parking space, most importantly the kids were close one to another, one family-mine, was placed 7 minutes walk from the whole group ("kindly" timed by one of the staff who was exchanging correspondence with me). Apparently not one accommodation within 7 minutes walk available in the entire park. Our accommodation was just behind the shop/bar, near the recycling centre, overlooking busy street, with dogs doing their business on the front, inside: TV not programmed therefore useless, mould in the bathroom, panel coming of the shower- Pictures available. The saddest thing was to explain my son why he's been separated from the team, this event was a highlight of the year for him. The disappointment in his little face keeps me awake until now. Never ever one person mentioned different location, different sort of accommodation. During the correspondence I was told " I think the issue is that you booked a different type of accommodation to the rest of the group"- I Did Not book a different type of accommodation to the rest of the group as the booking was made by team leader. I was also told: "All accommodation has a minimum occupancy of 4 persons, so as you had 3 persons you still had to pay for 4"- Yet again, I was not aware I paid for 4 if booking was for 3 persons only. In another email I was told the exclusive lodges were for families of 4, but there were another 2 families of 3 persons who resided there with the rest of the group and as per their own admission I paid for 4 persons anyway, so they contradict themselves. Correspondence was unhelpful, rude and did not provide us with any solution, one of other sentences I had to read twice was "Your accommodation was a superior unit of good quality and was close to the main facilities such which would have been helpful for you if you were unable to walk very far"- really???? Just to inform Pauline Earnshaw(author of the emails), the office manager, and according to her the highest person in the company to deal with complaints- My family consists of very fit people capable of walking miles, involved actively in various sports, so this comment is nothing but rude and offensive. Most importantly we did not go there for close access to any facilities, we went there for our son to have the most amazing time with his mates.
Awful trip, I wish we never went. My son's heartache and disappointment will haunt us for a very long time. We cut our stay short by one night as it was purely unbearable.
Total cost for May Bank Holiday was astonishing £888 per family, friday-monday. As per correspondence exclusive lodges were £222 and superior apartment was £202 "per person-as it states in your email", I believe it was meant to say per night.
I'm still awaiting refund as I've been mislead, mis-sold
and clearly overcharged.
