It's not an "authentic" platform but a PR firm
I believe that a company’s integrity is important if it’s going to provide services that directly or indirectly affect people’s lives. The “Forum for Expatriate Management” (url forum-expat-management) is an example of how a company’s dishonest tactics can cause harm. They aim to be a company “that unites the worldwide global mobility community via an online news and information portal and annual calendar of international events” - an overtly general message that doesn’t mean much in practice. In reality, it’s a PR (public relations) group, managed according to their website by “DVV Media HR Group Ltd” which in their own words is a “Media HR Group”.
There’s no problem with being a PR group, but when they pretend to hold real annual events and give prestigious awards which turn out to be fake - that’s a problem. Their past awards for various expat firms were not genuine, they just awarded companies from different categories (transportation, tax, etc.) if they paid their PR group. These awards then led people to believe that the winning companies received legitimate awards and become their customers, and they turn out to be incompetent. As evidence, one can see that (at the time of writing these lines) website links to past events about awards have no outside independent coverage and links lead to “Error: Not found 404” pages. One must find it funny that they felt they needed to write on their website that they have “a strong presence on LinkedIn and Twitter”, when there is zero engagement there.
Their “management”, including Claire T.S. (self-titled “Global Director of Content & Events at the Forum for Expatriate Management”) was contacted and asked about their summits (FEM’s Conferences and Summits in Amsterdam, the Americas, APAC and EMEA and oversees FEM's global awards (EMMAs) or any evidence for "EMMA Award Winners" of certain years) – but not a single reply has been received. The bottom line is this: Their guest writers, and more importantly indirect customers and sponsors should be aware that it is simply a PR firm, and the "prestigious awards" etc. are not authentic, and that is why I wrote this review.
