My son was in a difficult place at his junior year of high school in Seattle. The school cared, but they just did not have the resources to give him the time and attention he needed to find himself and succeed. After careful thought, we researched and found Fusion Academy in Seattle and after meeting with the head of school, James Cardo, we were impressed enough to give them and their unique approach a try. Everything about the experience was amazing. The teachers helped him to gain confidence and realize his true potential. Three years later, he is doing wonderfully and succeeding in college and in life and Fusion was critical to his turnaround. Its student to teacher approach is expensive, but the value of what it brought to him is priceless. The best decision we could have made.

We came to Fusion Academy in Seattle to have my son complete Geometry during the summer in order to accelerate his math progress during the school year.
Honestly I didn’t know what to expect or how the heck they were going to teach Guy a full year of Geometry in a summer.
Well, it was simply an amazing experience. Matt the teacher is gold! The Fusion Academy team - Gabriella and James are super nice and communicative. They are pros.

Fusion Academy in Seattle provided our daughter a safe and nurturing environment that made all the difference. The growth that she demonstrated, once she felt respected and appreciated by teachers, was tremendous. Our child was able to thrive academically and pursue her interests more deeply because of the one-to-one model. Teachers often took the time to understand her mental state and make sure she felt heard at the start of class, which allowed her to be ready for the content and buy into the classes.

Gabriela Pennisi, the Director of Education, became a trusted adult for our daughter, offering her time and guidance when our child sought advice. We will always be grateful to Gabby and the teachers at Fusion for promoting such healthy development and supporting our child’s confidence in herself.

My son was never enamored with school, although he actually enjoyed learning. Luckily, we found Seattle's Fusion High School where he was able to learn in a personalized, one-on-one setting. He enrolled in Math, ELA, Science and Spanish where the teachers not only focused on subject matter but also executive functioning, scheduling and helping him keep up with his workload.

The teachers were amazing. They spent time getting to know my son and working his interests in to the lesson plan so that he stayed connected to the curriculum. Seattle's Fusion staff and teachers allowed my son to be successful in his post-high school journey. He is currently in college using many of the things he learned at Fusion.

Fusion listens to the needs of their students and provides a caring, healthy environment for them to be successful. I highly recommend this school as an alternative to a public school education where some students are unable to thrive.

Our son had outstanding academic support for a credit recovery class (algebra) and came out of it with a completely renewed sense of confidence in math! Excellent communication from the administration and the tutor as well. We'll be back as needed!

Our 1-to-1 private school for grades 6-12 matches your student’s pace, so they can learn faster, dive deeper, and never get left behind. However, the reality is they do not vet, quality, teachers, do not drain them or provide appropriate professional development to teach all types of learners, and they will make claims that their teachers are highly qualified until your students starts working with them and you find out despite Clearly, communicating that you’re student has ADHD, needs specific tools and types of instructions, executive function support, their teachers will not be able to follow through on providing any of it. But they will tell you whatever you wanna hear just to get you to sign the contract and get your money. Our student was placed with two math teachers that had no idea or expertise in teaching students with ADHD. That meant me paid for a whole semester, 30 sessions and thousands of dollars to receive instruction that was just as bad as the public school we had just pulled our student out of for math. James Cardo well, then, when you bring up concerns, respond in the same way that many public school administrators do in Washington state, and that’s by being dismissive and very little emotional maturity and ability to work things out with parents. It was clear the math teachers were not providing effective instruction because my child was using a Photomath app to do their homework because they weren’t learning in class. That should never happen in a one-to-one class. Even so James refused to acknowledge that his teachers cannot provide the instruction my student needed. It’s just all about the money for them. You’ll speak to him and think he sounds reasonable. Like many families in Washington state we get to a point of desperation and trying to help our students. James knows this. He takes advantage. Especially in regards to online classes. He is not providing quality education online. Maybe in person. I have no idea because these were classes with fusion teachers in Seattle but online. Another issue is the fusion portal is really difficult for parents and students to navigate. So if you use Schoology at your current public school and find that frustrating, you’ll find the fusion portal incredibly difficult to navigate too.
The math teacher had to rearrange a bunch of folders just so my child could figure out where the math homework was.
But it didn’t matter anyways, because they couldn’t complete the math work independently.
Another concern, too, is that James said, we are bursting at the seams with students. Which is great for business and bringing in a lot of money. However, we can’t keep up with the demand and teachers needed. They seemed sincere quality, teachers. But the reality was they just vetted whoever they could get quickly. We had a language arts teacher that taught English as a second language, and had zero experience in teaching, grammar and tax. Which was the goal of my student. When I brought this up with James, he got very upset and defensive, and said, You pressured us into finding a teacher quickly.

Save your money. Go elsewhere. I know you’re thinking, but it’s hard to find a private learning center that has openings right now. You’ll find it. We’ve moved onto a different private learning center and it’s been a far better experience. People are reasonable and I don’t have to deal with Jame’s temper tantrums and dismissive emails that focus on covering his butt vs helping students progress.

Our son graduated from high school after successfully completing both semesters of Financial Algebra with Fusion's excellent tutoring support. His tutor was patient and flexible while insisting that our son learn the material in a solid way. I've never seen our son be as conscientious about meetings with a teacher as he was with his Fusion Academy tutor. He lost most of his math fear and really seemed to enjoy some of the learning. He certainly enjoyed the time spent with his tutor.

Thank you for all that Fusion Academy has done to support our son's journey through high school. He is now ready to advance to the next stage of his life as he prepares to become a commercial airline pilot. Our family deeply appreciates what Fusion offered just when we needed it.

A wonderfully safe space for my trans AuDHD 8th grader. We had to pull the plug on public middle school after he refused to go for months, and Fusion has not only helped him slowly recover, but has offered an amazing education and valuable new friendships at the same time.

Fusion Academy has been a huge help in turning around school for our child. Every teacher has carefully nurtured, consistently supported, celebrated wins, empathized during difficult moments. The administration is fantastic. They are responsive, understanding, kind and flexible.
Our child's entire being mind and body has relaxed and accepted this place as a safe space for them. A lot of this comes from leadership, staff and teachers that are consistently there for your student. They have also had no turnovers which says a lot about how much they like their jobs.
Academically they slow down as needed, and accelerate when the student is capable of more advanced work.

The Fusion team has been so welcoming to our daughter and working to help support her through a challenging time. They are exceeding expectations and we are very appreciative of the caring and understanding approach to each and every class, whether in person or virtual.

My daughter has severe anxiety, ADHD and school refusal. Since she started Fusion this year she has flourished and loves school. It is a warm, inviting environment, she is engaged and loves her teachers. The staff are always available for any questions and advice and they go above and beyond to offer whatever support is needed for the students to thrive.

Such a welcoming school. Engaging teachers who match lessons to kids needs. My child is now leaning into her lessons after a year of not being engaged in school. We can either come in person or do online and the in person is very accesible for kids not doing well with physical schools.

Friendly, compassionate staff, flexibility and HOMEWORK DOES NOT COME HOME!

My experience was wonderful at Fusion Academy. From front desk to administration, and then my daughter’s teacher was 1st class academic experience.

We are looking for an educational platform that will engage our son’s commitment and interest to learning again, work with his unique ADHD learning style and make him accountable. We have found it here. He took a summer course in 2020 in engineering (to foster an interest and possible direction for college). The first week, he told me it didn’t feel like school and he really enjoyed the class, teacher, etc.! He was enthusiastic again about learning. We have enrolled him this year 2021/22 and he is repeating an unsuccessful Covid year at his previous private high school. As I read the news about Covid today and all that comes with that for schooling, I feel so relieved I don’t have to helicopter the unsuccessful online learning again for our teen. He will be at school AND around other teens, interacting and in life. Yes, still wearing a mask but NOT at home! Everyone I have worked with at Fusion Academy is very professional, attuned, and educated in the learning differences with teens and their struggles in today’s world. I know he will be set up for success with caring competent teachers. The rest will be up to him. Call Fusion if you are having any doubts about this year and your child’s success at school. My son made the decision to go here. He believes the 1 to 1 teaching platform is exactly what he needs for full engagement in learning and is thrilled that all subjects will be chosen around “his” interests and learning style. It’s never too late to get our kids on track and foster “their” interests, especially in the world we live in today. I wish you the best, Parent / Mom
