AVOID! Poor workmanship, lack of care, and a stressful experience from start to finish

I am thoroughly disappointed with Gemini there has been nothing but poor workmanship, lack of care, and a stressful experience from start to finish, and honestly I wouldn’t recommend using this company.
What started as a simple issue with the sink being positioned incorrectly on the template turned into a complete mess. The templating was done incorrectly compared to what was agreed, leaving the sink about 30mm further back, which caused problems with the waste and support bars. During the initial installation this was pointed out to the installers who simply didn’t care and told us to get someone else to fix it. We had to get a plumber in ourselves to put in a temporary fix whilst getting Gemini to come back and fix their mistake.
When their installers came back to “put things right,” they instead made it even worse. The sink support bar is now sitting at an angle barely touching the sink and has only partial screws which are hanging half out. You would think they sent a bunch of cowboys based on how poor the job was.
Raising these issues with Gemini directly seems just a waste of time. They have done nothing to actually fix the problem and won’t even cover the costs of getting a professional to fix their mistakes because at this point, I’ve lost all confidence in their installers. Each visit has made things worse rather than better, so I wouldn’t trust them to fix anything going forward.
On top of that, the wrong window cill was installed - not the Double Pencil cill we actually paid for - which just adds to the feeling that care and attention to detail are seriously lacking.
It’s been frustrating from start to finish. It’s cost us a lot of time and money. We’ve had to spend significant time dealing with their mistakes and the failed repair. Now we’ll need even more time off to get someone competent to fix it properly.
I would not recommend them to anyone and suggest you find an actual professional company to install your worktops who know what they are doing.
Avoid Gemini unless you want to waste your time and money!

As outlined in our previous correspondence that was sent on the 17th March, we have carefully reviewed the concerns raised regarding the templating, installation, and subsequent remedial works. While we understand your frustration, we do not agree that the additional costs you have outlined are reasonable or applicable for reimbursement.

We have, however, acknowledged specific elements of your complaint and have offered a refund totalling £111.02. This covers the sink support bars and the double pencil edge for the windowsill that was not supplied as originally specified.

This offer has been made in full and final settlement of the matters raised. Should you wish to accept this, please respond to the email we have sent and we will arrange payment accordingly.

We do regret that your experience has led to this outcome and appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback.

From start to finish Gemini worktops were extremely professional. The sales lady listened to what we needed and came up with some ideas we didn’t think about, there was no pushy sales tactics just good information and a fair price. The chap who came to laser measure was professional and thorough and again offered some guidance on what might work better from what we originally ordered. The fitting team again were very professional and left the job tidy. All in all 5 stars for Team Gemini

Nothing bespoke about Gemini

Nothing bespoke about Gemini, the stone is cut from stock and simply made to work and when questioned any and every excuse is used to avoid taking accountability.

I was left with a near enough flush overhang and 10+mm gap at the back of the "bespoke" workTop and I Was told "tile it to cover it up" .

When I pulled them up on it i was graciously offered a CHARGEABLE appointment for them to rectify their shoddy templating/ manufacturering.

Shocking service. And feeling really let down by these guys.

EDIT 21/3 : Only AFTER sharing my experience, did I recieve a phone call from gemini who have agreed send someone to investigate what can be done...free of charge... All in the hopes of me removing my review in the interim. We shall see what the outcome brings.

From initial enquiry to fitting the service was fantastic , Neil was so informative and really helpful he went out of his way to help and alter the quotes as we weren’t sure what worktop we wanted or what what options we could afford ! Nothing was too much work for him . We were kept up to date with template times and fitting times by text which was good and the boys that fitted the worktop were just as good . We went for Calcatta Gold Superior and it’s gorgeous it really put the finishing touch to our new kitchen Thanks very much . Will definitely recommend Gemini

Extremely disappointed!!

Review of Gemini Worktops – Extremely Disappointing Experience

I want to share my experience with Gemini Worktops so others know what they may be walking into.

The advertised two‑week installation window is not guaranteed.
Even though their website states this, they did not honour it. Be prepared to rearrange your tradespeople at short notice, because the actual fitting date may change without warning.

The templating and fitting teams were not professional.
Our templater input the wrong measurements, which meant they had to return. Instead of replacing the worktop, they ground down two inches on-site just to make the hob fit. This left our home covered in dust, damaged our hoover, and created a very unpleasant mess.

Customer service was extremely poor.
It’s almost impossible to get through to them. They also tell tradespeople to contact them directly, but then take no responsibility for mistakes. Communication is unclear and inconsistent.

Only after submitting a formal complaint did I receive a response — and it simply stated they were not responsible.

Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend using a local supplier instead. Unless you are prepared to deal with delays, poor workmanship, and a lack of accountability, I would avoid ordering from Gemini Worktops.

Having reviewed your account, we were unable to locate any prior correspondence or record of the issues raised before your formal complaint email. Our process requires that any concerns following installation are reported directly to us so they can be logged and managed appropriately, and we’re sorry if this was not clear at the time.

We do sincerely apologise in relation to the damage caused to your hoover. This is not the standard we expect, and we have spoken directly with the Installation Manager who is arranging a replacement for you as he was unaware that it was left in this condition. Once he has the tracking details of the replacement, he will share with us so we can send on to yourself.

With regard to lead times, while we do aim for a two-week turnaround where possible, we advise that these can extend during busier periods. Any revised timeframes are communicated at the point of final order confirmation to ensure customers are aware prior to proceeding.

In terms of handling customer property, including hobs, our installation teams are instructed not to handle these due to liability and insurance reasons. That said, we appreciate your feedback and have raised this internally for review as part of our ongoing process improvements.

Regarding the templating issue, we understand how frustrating this would have been. While the error was not intentional, it was rectified within our standard service timeframe. We also note your comments about the team attending to resolve the issue without prior notification. This falls outside of our usual process, and we are raising this internally, as we had no record of the issue prior to your complaint.

Based on the information available to us and the steps taken to resolve matters, we do feel that the Trustpilot review does not fully reflect the full context of the situation.

If there are any aspects of the final finish that you feel remain below an acceptable standard, please do provide images so we can review and take any necessary steps to resolve this.

We do regret that your experience has led to this feedback and we can hopefully resolve this for you.

Perfect from start to finish

The process with Gemini was perfect from start to finish. The sales advisor was incredibly helpful, suggesting quartz styles and talking through layouts and options. I secured the price (which was the best I’d found!) with a deposit and once I was ready, several weeks later, I booked a templating appointment. The template was quick and efficient and gave me all the guidance I needed ahead of the fitting. The fitting itself was booked in for two weeks after I paid the final balance, and the fitters turned up on time, got the job done quickly and left everything spotless.
The worktops themselves are absolutely stunning and I am really pleased with the product and the service from Gemini. Everyone I had an interaction with throughout the process was friendly, helpful and professional. Thank you!

Overall good, but long wait and some templating issues

Nice worktop, competitive price, and responsive customer service, but very long wait time for templating and installation (although they were upfront about it). There were template measures issues - the sink area was incorrectly mapped (in spite of the sink and tap being there on templating day) which then required improvs on installation. In other words, fitters were good but template person not really…

Thank you for responding. However your reply does not fully reflect my experience.

For nearly two months I was repeatedly told that the issue with the overhang was due to “movement” and that the worktop must have been interfered with after installation. When your technician eventually attended, he confirmed that this could not have been the case and that the problem was with the installation itself.

While I appreciate that the overhang was ultimately corrected, describing this as part of a standard three-visit installation process is misleading. The remedial visit only occurred after prolonged correspondence in which responsibility was initially denied.

I was also told during phone conversations that a goodwill gesture would be considered because of the inconvenience caused and the time I had to take off work to attend the appointment. Unfortunately I never received a follow-up regarding this despite being told that someone would contact me.

I am pleased the worktop is now aligned, but the frustration came from the way the issue was handled beforehand and from being repeatedly blamed for a fault that was later confirmed not to be mine.

We understand your frustration regarding the time taken to reach a resolution and how the issue was initially communicated. Our intention is always to assess concerns based on the information available at the time, and we regret if this process left you feeling that responsibility was being placed on you unfairly.

As previously outlined, once the matter had been fully assessed, we arranged a remedial visit at no cost to ensure the worktop was correctly aligned, and we are pleased that the final outcome met the required standard.

In relation to the goodwill gesture discussed during your calls, we apologise if our follow-up did not meet expectations. Your request was reviewed internally, and while we do understand the inconvenience caused, our position remains that as the works were completed within our standard installation process, we are unable to offer compensation on this occasion.

We do take your feedback seriously, particularly around communication and how concerns are handled, and this will be shared with the relevant teams as part of our ongoing improvements.
