Excellent product/ replacement led lights for Ford Ranger

fixed them and for the moment working really well. and only trouble was installing them with the dust cover hopefully it wont melt the dust cover due to over heat.

Good looking well built unit, excellent mounts either on side or underneath. Plenty of wiring harness and could not have been easier to plug into my 2009 Colorado. Great throw of light , makes night driving so much better .

I ordered 2 Gemtek Radiant Series H1 LED Headlight Conversion Kits (4 LED assemblies) for my 2005 Honda CRV. Unlike most other conversion kits, each LED assembly in this Gemtek kit has an easily REMOVABLE HEAT SINK!!! This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for.

The LED assembly consists of 3 pieces: the LED "globe", a heat sink, and an optional cylindrical extender piece between the LED and heat sink. The parts are threaded and easily screw together. The importance of this modular assembly allows the easy installation of the LED (just like the original halogen globe), and non-destructive installation of the original headlight dust boot. The original dust boot can be put over the LED, and the extender and heat sink screwed on afterwards. (In kits with non-removable heat sinks, trying to stretch the dust boot over the heat sink is often impossible without damaging the dust boot, and putting the dust boot over the heat sink restricts cooling.)

In my installation, once I fastened the LED into place with the spring retainer clip, I found that the dust boot depth/design required me to use the cylindrical extender piece between the LED and heat sink. I also noticed that the dust boot center hole was a slightly larger diameter than the cylindrical extender piece. Thus, I wrapped a certain number of turns of vinyl electrical tape around the cylindrical extender piece to increase its diameter so the dust boot could make a good seal against it. Then I screwed the extender to the LED, and slipped the dust boot over the extender and fully seated the dust boot. Next, I screwed the heat sink to the extender. Finally, I hooked up the LED wires to the headlight wiring harness.

Lights arrived promptly exactly on the dates specified. initial impressions are that they are very well constructed. Will be fitted this week and I am keen to test their lighting abiliy.

I bought a gtd6 22 inch.
No hot spots or dark patches.
Reflections from road signs isn't bad like other lights.
Beam pattern is actually useful at putting light where it should be....not possum spotting in trees.
Only criticism would be the base mounts but the option of end mounts solves that.
Overall, fast shipping and great value. Reccomend this product as a good option for mid distance coastal type driving.
For reference I've used many top end lights including halogen and hid versions of well known Japanese and Australian makers. This holds it's own.
