Shield $3000 colon cancer blood test
I am 79 & it had been 13 years since my last colonoscopy so it was decided I would have a Shield blood test for colon cancer. I'm not aware of cancer in my family tree. I received back a result that said my blood showed positive for colon cancer & I needed a colonoscopy .For 5 months I debated having a colonoscopy since their publications stated it was extremely accurate for advanced cancer with almost 90% accuracy. I finally gave in & went through with procedure. They (Drs) found nothing in my colon at all. The Dr. Was perplexed how Shield got a positive result. I am also very pissed about this. I love the result of the unnecessary colonoscopy. Their test sucks & they bill the insurance company almost $3000 for their expert test. I would not recommend this company for this test. I believe they don't have a reliable valid test & are giving positive results to everyone possibly!
