EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE

I genuinely wonder how this company is still trading. I have emails that clearly underlines that they do not even have the simplest idea of customer relationships and/or satisfaction. After the £399.00 payment for a repair, their emails point to various ways to avoid the job. Even parking has been used to cancel the job. I have never dealt with them before and hence they cannot point that I am a rogue customer.

Even the estate agents have openly commented that Pulsacoil has a poor reputation for customer service. The fact that 38%+ feedback has 1/poor rating (compared to just 42% positive feedback), that's way too high and a clear indication that the management is either unaware or don't care.

Reading the reviews, it would be a total madness to get this boiler replaced by another of theirs

My Gledhill Boiler

Had a visit today from Engineer to look at my boiler. He introduced himself and went to look at the boiler, he advised that there was a drip and that someone would have to come out and clear the build up of water. He explained and showed me where the leak was coming from. He was very polite . The Engineer was Mr E D Millar .
1st Class visit .

Gledhill company customer service

I had a leak from my Pulsacoil stainless thermal store boiler. Gledhill was called and an engineer arranged a date and time to visit next day. He arrived on time, was very polite and friendly and fixed the problem within a short time. I couldn’t have asked for better. I have a constant flow of very hot water and very happy with the service from Gledhill.

I would not choose this make of boiler

Had two of these boilers in my buy to let property (one an expensive replacement )
This make came with the property when I bought it and I would never have one by choice.
Can give you really high usage bills if left on the wrong settings and simple repairs are expensive £399 for a 10 min fix !!

Daniel Paxton, a true gentleman.

Engineer Daniel Paxton arrived at my Flat in Braintree, to remove an old then install a new boiler. Daniel's work ethic and his approach to the customer are so professional. He took his time, ensuring everything was done correctly, Daniel even went through and explained how the water system works. He is an outstanding example of a caring engineer. Who thrives on getting the job done. Thank you Gledhill and of course Daniel.

appalling customer service

The engineer called on Tuesday as scheduled although he did not arrive until 10.30 am. He did not know about the work to be done and when I explained it to him he said he did not have the immersion heaters or thermostats to carry out the work. He said he would arrange them to be delivered by fast track to my home address and would arrange another appointment to carry out the work of fitting them.

I telephoned Gledhill to complain that you knew the work that was to be carried out because the previous engineer had reported the issue and the engineer on Tuesday should have been given that information and the parts to carry out the work. The person I spoke to apologised and took my telephone number and address so that she could confirm later in the day that the parts would be delivered to my home address.

I did not receive a call nor have I received the parts. This is very frustrating and the tenants have been without hot water for 3 weeks. My service contract states that you provide next day call out repair and maintenance. I have never received this level of service and you are in breach of the terms of the contract.

Darren/Darrel. A revelation of what a good engineer should be, professional, polite, helpful and very knowledgeable about what could and could not be done. Went out of his way to oblige. Refused a tip!

A bit expensive but worthy!!!

We never had any issues with the boiler since we moved to the flat in 2016 despite of receiving cero maintenance or checks since then. But recently our Pulsa Coil Class A stopped working so I contacted the company which charged around £396 to do the job around three days later, which it can be a little expensive for some of us but that included, visit, parts and labour and one year guarantee so no too bad. The guy who came around Kieran was super nice and helpful and explained a lot of things to me which it was great.

Great customer service from Roxanne

I had an external timer fitted a few years ago and was told by the engineer that fitted it that it would be covered under my plan. the timer stopped working a few months ago. Another engineer came out and said he would order a new one and that when it arrives i should ring them to come and fit it. i asked if i had to pay for it and was told no. Yesterday Gledhill rang me to tell me that they will order it and but it would cost me £195. I said no way was i paying for a new product when 2 seperate engineers told me i wouldn't have to. She then said she could drop it to £100. Again i said no and asked to speak to a manager. I then got put through to Roxanne. I explained the problem and she was amazing, She understood my concern and said she would order for me free of charge. Roxanne was so nice and helpful. what a credit to Gledhill she is. If only all Gledhill staff were like Roxanne.

This is a bit concerning

This is a bit concerning , 20 flats all using pulsa coil , over complicated simple immersion . With in a yr most of us lost pressure , leaks etc , £2250.00 for a new unit !! .Iam a electrician and my good work friend a gas engineer , like me could not believe how over complicated these systems were and breaking down as well as price . We put our heads together and simply said unvented system . £700 all in and I paid him a good wage , best system for electric only with off peak . Simple , it works brilliant .not as expensive to run compared to the other as amazingly insulated . Ok if you use it all then you on boost as only so much in the tank . But will store at high temperature for a lot longer , no fancy pumps electronics etc . Great bit of kit by joule , Iam sure other good unvented company’s as well .just pulsa coil over engineered , expensive and simply stops working very quickly .
The rest of their products might be ok but put me off .
Now all my neighbours are getting similar fitted by a genuine engineer that knows what he’s doing .
I go round just connecting up electrically wise which is not hard but keeps all the warranty’s intact as I fully qualified .

Pulsacoil Stainless, bad design. 


I had a Pulsacoil Stainless boiler fitted in June. I was told I would have hot water all day, from my plumber. That is not so. You need to be out all day to still have hot water in the evening, I have found. There is no heavy useage as its only myself, in the flat. If I do not put the booster button on, there will not be enough water to wash my hair. Ok, for someone out alot. Not enough hot water and just not good enough. It should never have be on sale to the public. It needs redesigning.

Overall not bad

Had the platinum plan for a few years, Beginning of the year I had a service, the engineer noticed a leak and marked it up as urgent, I had to chase them up 6 weeks later about this. But credit where credit is due, the lady on the phone very helpful, organised an engineer within 3 days with the correct parts and on the day the engineer rang when he was on the way, turned up when said and was a very pleasant guy, cleaned up after himself and did a good job.

Overall a good company, apart from chasing up an “urgent” repair which by the time it was sorted had damaged 2 carpets.

Contract worthless

We have had the “platinum service” contract with this company for 5 years. It is not worth the paper its written on. The service is slow and incompetent. Most problems have resulted in several visits as the faults are not identified or addressed correctly. We had no heating for several months while they messed about with various solutions. Eventually we had to replace the radiator. It’s Christmas Eve we have had no hot water for a week. We had a visit last Thursday the problem was apparently the switch which was fixed but no hot water, a visit yesterday the problem was the thermostat which was replaced still no hot water . We can’t have a visit today as they are “not a same day service” So we have paid £300 to a company who have failed to fix the problem twice and left us with no hot water for Christmas. We would have dropped the contract years ago but to date haven’t found another company that deals with pulsacoil and dread to think what service we would get from them if this is described as platinum. In our opinion they only survive as a company as they have a virtual monopoly.

There is something fundamentally wrong


There is something fundamentally wrong with this firm. I have made several calls over the last two weeks to buy a new boiler. No one calls back. They promise to call back but they don’t. They assure me they’ll email a quote but they don’t. I have £2,000 on the table to buy a boiler, yet they are not the least bit interested. You couldn’t make it up!
Update: one week on and still no callback or email.
