Worst ever experience with Goldcar.. again
Goldcar has proven itself at its worst again. Upon picking up the car and the request to jointly inspect it (based on previous experiences) I didn't notice anything special separate from the indicated damage left front. However.. when returning the car the airport of Valencia staff looked with every detail and flashlight to clearly want to identify any small damage. And yes, they found a tiny scratch on the bumper. So small you couldn't detect it without flashlights or a magnifying glass. It was a scratch that could easily be brushed or sandwashed away but they dared to charge 196 euro's for this. More than I paid for the whole rental! I have provided pictures and video's that we made ourselves to prove how invisible the scratch had been from the beginning, but they never used our information. This was unfortunately a confirmation of the bad reputation of Goldcar and the very last time we gave them a chance to rebuild confidence and trustworthiness. They just don't deserve that!

Suite à une réservation de location de voiture avec assurance via Booking.com, mon expérience à lâarrivée a été particuliÚrement décevante.
On mâa en effet indiqué que lâassurance incluse ne couvrait finalement rien et quâil était indispensable de souscrire à leur propre assurance pour bénéficier dâune couverture sur le véhicule, ce que jâai refusé. AprÚs avoir contacté Booking.com, il mâa été confirmé que cette information était erronée et que lâassurance incluse était bien valide.
Par ailleurs, le véhicule proposé ne correspondait pas à la catégorie réservée, étant nettement plus petit que prévu. Enfin, il mâa été impossible de finaliser la location, ma carte bancaire étant systématiquement refusée dans des conditions pour le moins suspectes.
Au final, jâai dû déposer une réclamation auprÚs de Booking.com, annuler ma réservation et me tourner vers Avis à proximité, dont le service sâest révélé bien plus professionnel.

· Inside the black plastic door sills
· The black plastic trim around the entire car
Take detailed videos and photos of every inch. The car they hand you is already full of scratches and dings, yet they expect you to return it in brand-new condition.
Complete scam operation at Porto airport. Save your money and sanity â rent elsewhere.

Aluguei um veÃculo à Goldcar que se encontrava em condições inseguras e inaceitáveis.
O carro apresentava problemas graves na direção, os pneus estavam perigosamente desgastados e o veÃculo encontrava-se sujo no momento da entrega. Contactei imediatamente o apoio ao cliente, mas fui informado de que deveria continuar a conduzir o veÃculo a menos que este avariasse completamente.
Considero esta resposta extremamente irresponsável e perigosa, uma vez que me foi aconselhado conduzir um veÃculo que não estava em condições de segurança. Esta situação colocou em risco a minha segurança e a de terceiros.
Solicito uma investigação completa a este caso, bem como uma compensação adequada pelo fornecimento de um veÃculo inseguro e pelo mau atendimento prestado.

Jâai loué du 22 au 29 mars à Porto, une C3 Ãlectrique, pas de câble de recharge sur prise 220v, même pas dit comment recharger le véhicule, a fallu que jâappelle le siÚge afin de savoir comment faire, pour me dire quâil fallait installer une application sur mon téléphone.
A lâarrivée, personne fait le tour du véhicule, par contre au retour, le gars fait le tour complet, le toit, bas de caisse, même lâintérieur est contrÃŽlé, finit par signaler la coque de rétroviseur, alors quâil était déjà rayé, comme jâai pas pris de photos. Franchise bloquée.
A fuir, des vrais voleurs. Font ça à tous les clients. Mauvaise expérience, premiÚre et derniÚre.

Heel erg opgelicht geweest bij Goldcar Barcelona. Bij afgifte auto deed ene Jeremy een snel-rondje rond de wagen waar wij niet bij stonden, bukte zich even snel en grijnsde dat hij een krasje had opgemerkt op de achterdeur. Wij hebben dit krasje absoluut niet veroorzaakt. Trouwens we hadden veel blutsen gemeld bij inname auto maar dit kleine krasje niet opgemerkt. 3 weken later 445 euro van mijn visakaart gecrediteerd... Ik zou niet meer durven huren bij Goldcar. Het is zo onrechtvaardig, de manier waarop dat ze je geld pakken.

Iâve had many years satisfactory car hire from Goldcar, but in the last few years something changed in the companyâs ethos.
The first issue was in 2022. After filling the car and dropping it off, I then got a bill for not returning it full. The bill was for 10 Euros of fuel and 50 Euros penalty. I disputed it, but I forgot to take a photo of the fuel gauge when I dropped it off, so I didnât have any evidence.
Thinking this was a one off blip, I decided to give them another chance and hired another car from them. This experience turned out even worse. Over a year later after dropping off the car, I notice that they had taken money from my credit card.
I contacted GoldCar and they said the charge was a âFine management feeâ. So I asked what the fine was for? They said they werenât allowed to tell me. So I asked them what was the date of the alleged fine? Again they wouldnât tell me, saying âThe traffic authorities will send you the fine information and payment instructions by mail.â But nothing ever came.
I didnât want to post a bad review straight away, just case they were telling the truth, but now after 3 years and no fine arriving, I can finally post the review with confidence.
Thereâs only one reason why they wouldnât give me the date of the fine or any details, itâs because it never happened. Itâs just a scam to get money from innocent people.
Ps. Both happened at Lisbon Airport.

If I could give it a zero, I would. Due to a last minute emergency, we quickly booked the car via Booking.com, and went for the cheapest option without reading reviews with much care (our bad!). We paid for additional insurance on Booking and were prepared to pay the rather high deposit (over £1k), however, got charged for Goldcar premium insurance at pickup instead.
The Goldcar employee forcefully took our credit card from our hands and process two payments - we werenât able to confirm the amount as she moved quickly before we could protest. First the fuel deposit, which we excepted, then the Goldcar premium insurance (£255) which we thought to be the deposit.
Once we figured out what happened, we questioned numbers, requesting to be charged the £1k deposit instead. The employee immediately started firing pre-prepared answers, getting progressively more aggressive and condescending, until they fully raised their voice to interrupt us.
The car itself was fully scratched on the outside, stained interiors, and had evident issues with the breaks.
Needless to say, weâre trying to raise claims against the employee and the unexpected charges. However, customer service is virtually non-existent and completely unhelpful.
Save yourself the stress and anger. Spend a little more and use literally any other company - itâll probably cost you £250 less regardless as you wonât get scammed.
MAFIA - STYLE
It was a real mafia-style scam: whilst we were unloading our luggage, the employee carrying out the inspection scratched the driverâs side wing mirror, and we were forced to pay an additional charge of â¬104.00 without being given any receipt. As a loyal customer, Iâll NEVER use Gold Car again!

Ensuite vous rajoutez 19,13 de Smart Return sans me dire ce que c'est là aussi + 40.83⬠de service express sans réservation ! BEAUCOUP de frais rajoutés sans explications !!! Je conteste cette maniÚre de faire !

Auto bomvol met schade meegekregen. Geen schade gerekend maar toch wel berekend (we hadden bewijs!).
Bij inleveren 60 euro rekening voor aftanken terwijl we zelf afgetankt hadden, kon geen drup meer bij in.
